I was billed $6,200 for a Orkin shield, at the end of 2025 and I had a mouse in my house in February 2026. And they sent my account to collections after I got the mouse. And I only owed $1,300. I canceled services because I didn't see any change, if anything I had more spiders and bugs than before. A month later I got a bill worth two months of service and I never got any services in those months, they sent me to collections over 132 bucks. When I called to ask about it, they had no proof all they kept telling me was g me was that's what I owe them. I have 4 ring cameras 2 placed to view my whole front and 2 places to view my pool and back yard. The day they claimed the service was. all I saw in the camera videos are Amazon and mail. Inspector Johnny Echols is an excellent representative of Orkin! He kept us well informed of when he would arrive at our house. He was very friendly and nice to be with. He did a thorough inspection and made recommendations for preventative improvements in our crawl space where there was moisture detection and gave accurate and clear explanation of what the cost would be, that includes an option of financing payments. He did photos and a humidity check. He inspected the garage, and there was no evidence of termite infestation. He did an excellent job for us! read more

Believe the low ratings. These guys are a mess. They do not notify you of appointments, no calls ahead as arranged, they do not pull appliances out to spray and bait, (I had to insist and pull them myself) and a year later there is still problem. Then the manager, Russ, gave me a $1400 quote on bombing a 3 unit building but the "inspector" who never made it to the property quoted $3000 and that "was a deal" according to him. I called 6+ times over a 5 month period trying to sort out all the issues to no avail. I then cancelled my service plan and the next day received a service notification for the following day so the account was not cancelled. I called back and confirmed that the account was not cancelled and then had to call again to be told the cancellation was back dated 2 days before the last appointment. This should be an SNL skit. Tried scheduling with them 2 separate occasions - no show both times. Totally unorganized place. The reviews of others confirm my same concerns. Called the office after a no show and they disconnected me after a 10 minute wait, called again and they placed me on hold for 10 min. Clearly this office has an issue. I'm calling another company. I've been trying to cancel services since March.., its now July. They did not treat the springtails that we've had and I was able to treat them with a spray from Amazon. We gave them plenty of time to try. Trying to cancel since March. I'm told okay, "canceled" during two seperate phone calls until I got a bill today for the amount they were to 'refund' me as I've been trying to cancel since March. They acknowledge that I've been trying to cancel since March but they keep taking from my auto debit and sending bills. You can't get thru to anyone. I hold for 15 minutes at a time a finally get through to an extremely rude and unhelpful woman in LA. No communication whatsoever. I've called the manager, the local office and the corporate office when we had a no show. They are completely unconcerned that even though we started the whole process two weeks ago I haven't heard from anyone. They just keep saying it's in process but no account has been made. When they came out for the initial quote they couldn't even guarantee the safety of the household pets. I love the actual Orkin service, although it took a while to actually start working (around 3-4 months). The only real problem I have is the service rep Hal. He is the most ignorant man I've ever dealt with, and I've worked in customer service before so I know bad! Honestly, I cant fathom why they still have him there after all these years. I'm happy to say that I'll be canceling service once my contract is up (because of him and his attitude) and would not recommend Orkin because this is the center closest to my house and I would not want anyone to have to deal with that ignorance as I have. read more

"We're not satisfied until you're satisfied" I believe that's their slogan. All I had was a very bad ant problem and we're very clean people. I paid 250+ up front and then 50 dollars a month for 2 months before I cancelled. the first guy that came asked if I wanted him to spray here or there and it wasn't like in a closet; It was behind the couch. I'm like uh yea I'm paying for it. 2nd guy was awesome as a person, but didn't solve my problem, after 3 treatments still hundreds of ants getting in. I have gaps in the house and per their ad they're supposed to seal gaps and cracks, I used them last year and this year and not once was a gap sealed. Waste of money and time. They don't care. i did my own research on ants and I got rid of the problem myself and sealed gaps that I can see. Orkin can get a big middle finger. read more

We had to enlist the aid of a company due to a mouse problem. The rep came out and I'm not sure why they came all the way from Broadview as we are in Logan Square. Anyway, he walked thru both the 1st floor where my cousin lives who incidenly is a bachelor existing in a slovenly state and then we went up to our place upstairs. He put the glue traps and the mouse poison in the sealed containers. Within 1-2 weeks success ! About 3-4 mouse cadavers. We thought this would be the end of the story but these mice! They started diggin in the plants so we called up Orkin and they came back and went thru the same motions. The value is good with Orkin I feel, as I'm payin $82 every other month when they come out and I had a bad ant problem last summer. However I still have the mouse problem with no end in sight. I realize its a 100 yr old house with cracks and holes all over...I have just never had this problem since the 6 years we have been here. That is why I am only giving them 3 stars. We recently bought a house and little did we know that we were going to have a big issue. We have tons of spiders everywhere and I still need to figure out where they are coming from even though this is why I hired Orkin. I called a sales representative and I was told that if I hired Orkin they would send someone to not just only spray the house but the outdoors. I was also told they will patch cracks and remove the spiders and spider webs and because of all this services I decided to go with them and they charged me $300.00 for a one time treatment. The guy got here earlier than expected and was very nice and professional and he sprayed the basement, and two main levels and the outdoors and I feel bad leaving a bad review because he was very nice and professional but the company did not keep their promise of covering up cracks, and removing the spider webs and spiders because for 300.00 for 30 minutes it's a waste! Plus the bug poison will only last one month and after the month the bugs will start appearing again. I gave it two stars because the bug poison they used is strong and I haven't seen many bugs as before but it would have been more helpful if they did two rounds of spraying and better job spraying the windows and the outdoors. read more

Dealing with Orkin Broadview/Oak Park? Good luck. This is the 3rd time- had an appt. With a No call, & No-show. So 45 min after end time of when they should have been here. (I even gave them Xtra 1/2 window for running late) I called to reschedule since no one showed or called. The lady said it was rescheduled- my question was: well how do you know I'll be available on the new date YOU PICKED? YOU DON'T! Duh! AND Secondly, when my appt was "rescheduled" why didn't someone alert me? 1st she said: oh I know what happened, your regular tech is off this week, and standin couldn't fit you in- then She said, yah we should have called: I said : I don't care what your excuse is: 3rd time you've done this:. And yah a phone call would have been nice then I wouldn't have wasted 2.5 hrs waiting for no one. I Love the service my regular tech does- However THE OFFICE HELP IS A TRAIN WRECK: the right hand doesn't know the left is doing. apparently there are NO CHECKS, No double checks, NO BALANCES, Bad EXCUSES. Not sure if this is the branch that was supposed to come to my house, but it's the closest orkin to elmhurst, il. And because of my experience I won't call orkin ever again. Called the company and ordered service for the following day between 4-7pm; this is a first time call/service. Told them to call when they were on their way just to confirm the arrival time; I made a point to emphasize this because I had an issue with terminix who on my first call with them they never called me and never showed. Orkin say this is no problem. 6pm rolls around and no call so I call customer service to get an idea of eta. and they tell me the technician will be notified again that I need a call when he's on the way. another hour goes by, it's now 7pm, and no call, and no technician. I call back and they tell me that they don't know why the technician hasn't arrived but they'll call and text him Another 45 mins goes by , no call no technician. I call back and they still don't have any answers and of course no response from the technician. Needless to say I cancelled my account. One they never called; even if you're going to be late, a call is just courteous. Two, customer service has no answers? The exact opposite of customer service. What kind if business model is this? Set up an appointment for a specific time and service, and no one calls or shows up, and customer service has no clue. Don't these people want customers; don't they want to be paid? 1 star for a lack of basic customer service and communication, and for no call and flat out no show. If they can't get this right I wouldn't trust them in my house, even if they got their act together and showed up, let alone pay them. Would give 0 stars if I could. read more

The complaints or customer service shows absolutely no empathy for their customers and do not care about inconveniencing them with the times they come out for service. ZERO STARS! I was charged after I cancelled my service and it took 4 days for the manager to call me back! The girl that answers the phone is rude and incompetent and the manager is even worse. Plus the service didn't even work. The guy came and sprayed for like 10 minutes and didn't patch any entry points or do an assessment. I had spiders and ants a couple weeks later. Total rip. I had to call Chase to get my money back and they did before the manager got around to calling back. They have no idea what they're talking about and didn't even apologize for their mistake. Payed 2k back in November to get rid of termites, it is now May and they still have yet to complete the job. They said it would be completed and field supervisors would come out to inspect the work and certify it was done properly so I went with them. The first guy came out that same week and complained and smoked the whole time, his pesticide was frozen as it was November so I lent him my heater and that was it, I've spoken to these people several times to get this job done and they schedule but never show up! Even new management reached out to me and I was excited to finally get what was promised months ago but it's the same issues. They are filled with empty promises, NEVER USE THEM! I had a inside sewer pipe crack and it was loaded with drain flys. The fly (of coarse) came out... There were so many it was like an invasion...Really, Really Bad !!!! I called and they said I could have a year of service for $450 or a one time for $250. I choose the one time because we never had any pest problems until this one. This was a very difficult fix because the flies are behind the foundation and in between the basement ceiling and the upstairs floor. Drain flies, I have learn from the internet are extremely hard to get rid of. Darrell came out and got rid of millions, seriously. He explained we might need more treatments because they lay eggs. He also explained I had a 30 day guarantee so to call the office in 2 days if I saw more or anytime within 30 days. I called and they sent him out that day. He is a great guy, very professional, knows what he is doing and does a great job. I'm not giving them any stars. I really don't have to write a review. In reading the complaints what they did to the other customers they did to me. They didn't show up when they were supposed to. Saying they were here when they were not. When I called about this I talk to Hal Gutte he talked over me telling me he had invoices for all the time the tech was here which he wasn't. Hal told me I was not charged for the times I said he wasn't here. How is that going to solve the problem. I guess I have to give them one star otherwise they will not let me post this complaint I can go on and on about their service. They don't return voicemails when you call and leave a message. They give you a 2 hour time window in the middle of the day and then just don't show up. The Technicians seem to just apply a template "solution" to your home without really doing more than spraying the baseboards with a pump-sprayer. We paid for 3 months of service ($250.00) thinking that we were purchasing monthly visits for 3 months. Orkin didn't do a return visit. We followed up and were told that we bought a one time visit but could have called for follow up if needed. If we had known that we were only covered in the event we called them back, we would have chosen the much less expensive option. The receptionist or service rep, Phil, was not helpful when we called. He said we didn't pay for monthly service (we previously had this) but a one time visit covering 3 months. I honestly think that this is misleading if not somewhat of a slick practice. I would have been Ok if they agreed to refund me to the lower charge. I cant recommend Orkin because they just don't seem ethical. I did review "the contract" and found that the receptionist was technically correct. I guess I should have consulted an attorney before calling the exterminator! read more

While requesting refund, it took 4 attempts to get the right person and get the agree to desired outcome. Its more than a week yet to see the refund on cc. I have a townhome that backs up to an alley, and wanted an exterminator, primarily for bug prevention for my bottom floor and garage. Thought it was weird they routed me to a location in Broadview, given that I live in the city. Working with Orkin was a pain, start to finish. Scheduling did not work out once in the 6 months I had them come out. When I attempted to reschedule each time by calling the office, I'd say only 50% of the attempts actually worked. Either they showed up anyways, or the technician would call, very confused, telling me a completely different date and time he was coming out than what the office had told me. One guy even told me his vacation schedule and asked me to change my appointment because he wanted to be off work one day. So many phone calls about scheduling that it was getting to be ridiculous. On top of that, the 3 different techs were inconsistent and sort of dickish; first guy wouldn't spray outside my front door or on the exterior of my garage ("nothing we can do about outside" he said)...huh? And the 2nd guy proceeded to scold me for paying the invoice that I received in the mail. He said "don't ever pay the invoices, even if it says you owe", and demanded to be paid on the spot. After having to go through the hassle of canceling the check, and giving him a card, I thought I'd give them one more chance. Nope. Another scheduling issue, so I canceled the service. Not even that was easy. They showed up 2 hours late for the final appointment. If you have the time to wait around all day, and are fine with inconsistent techs not willing to do anything outside your house, are cool with weird billing issues, and are flexible enough to wait around all day, maybe Orkin would work for you. read more
