I had Orkin Pest Control for many years, and had a wonderful worker named Andy. We rarely had to call them in to come and do in between services, because all our pests were taken care of. I was told one day Andy no longer worked for the company and I had to call to have another guy come and do our service. It took forever to get them to come. From that time on I started seeing cockroaches and ants all over the place. Granted I did have an ant problem suddenly before and Andy was taking care of it, but now it was out of control. And the cockroaches! I haven't had those is YEARS! I called in serveral times for service and felt like I was brushed to the side and told "Oh, you probably have German Roaches and there isn't much we can do about that" "they are probably in your vehicle and you bring them in from there" "Those roaches can come from anywhere, Costco, Safeway, any store you buy things from can have them." I didn't want excuses I wanted to be bug free again, and I felt like I wasn't been taken care of like I used to be. The last time someone showed up I wasn't given any warning and the guy was at my house and I was shopping, so I couldn't be there for 30 minutes. He said he will just do outside and wasn't there when I got back. I really NEEDED the inside done. I called in to say how disappointed I was in the service for the last probably 9 months, and was hoping that they would take care of me in a honorable fashion, but I was told they always give you 2 hours warning before they come and I said I wasn't given that warning. It was suddenly he was at my house. So I was told I am at the end of my payment cycle and that was my last treatment. Then she just asked, so do you want to cancel? I was like just a minute....then I decided YES, I DO. Why would I wan't to be with a company who doesn't even care to take care of your pests?? Find another company and ask for a guy named Andy because he was Awesome. Maybe he works for them. read more

Horrific service. You can't even schedule an appointment with this company. Here's a timeline: April 5, 2023: Called Orkin to schedule an appointment. Reached a customer service representative, appeared to be based out of state. Service Rep took my information and said someone from the local office would get back to me soon. April 6, 2023: No calls from Orkin. April 7, 2023: I called Orkin again, they transferred my call to someone else. I assume that person was from the Honolulu branch. That person said that the inspector was busy but assured me I would receive a call back the same day. No further call received from Orkin. April 8, 2023: No calls from Orkin. I finally called them again 9:21 a.m. The customer representative said that someone from the local office had put in a message at 6:53 p.m. on April 7 saying that they would call me back on April 10. April 10, 2023: 7:39 a.m.: Missed a call from presumably the Orkin rep's personal line. 8:48 a.m.: Called back, call picked up and respondent identified herself as an Orkin inspector. She told me she would be getting back to the office in ten minutes, she would have her calendar then to schedule me and that she would call me back in ten minutes. 9:23 a.m.: Called the phone number for the Orkin rep. No answer. 10:02 a.m.: Called the phone number for the Orkin rep. No answer. 10:02 a.m.: Called the main Orkin line. Customer rep asked to transfer me to someone who could help me. After brief hold, someone picked up. Person was rude, condescending and only identified themselves after being asked. She said that she was from the "Pacific Regional Office" and that she would have to take all of my information down again to help me. I told her that I was no longer interested in asking to use Orkin's services. I normally don't write reviews, but my experience with Orkin was so bad that I need to let people know what happened. read more

I have used Orkin for nearly 30 years. Reliable, friendly and especially effective in controlling cockroaches, ants, mice, etc.

The only reason I am giving a one is because I have to. As stated in a previous review, from someone else, the scheduling has changed and is horrible. The last time they contacted me by text at 4:30 pm to say they would be here the next day at 8:00am. They don't ask when it is convenient for you THEY DON'T CARE. On my last service no one knocked, rang the bell, or spoke to me. How do I know they did the service??? I was here and say no one!! The reason there are so many five star reviews is that in September they offered a $25 credit on your next service if you gave them five stars. This is unscrupulous! read more

So I've had service with Orkin for a couple of years and the same technician. Just got a call today (Sunday) that a new guy wants to come serice the house tomorrow that he has been reassigned to our home. Scam or just bad service on the part of Orkin? So I called their 24x7 number which routed me to someone on the mainland who spent 5 min verifying my address and account only to tell me that my local Hawaii office is closed and I would have to contact them during normal business hours...sooooo your not really 24x7? Well if Orkin chooses to change my technician then perhaps it's time for me to change pest control companies or do the work my self? read more

Wow, on top of the worst service ever you actually took extra money from me without even asking? Shame! Technician F. came out because I missed my regularly scheduled building inspection/spray with a different company. F spent the entire 1st appointment alternately criticizing my apartment ("gee, you sure got lots of stuff!") and upselling ("did you know my daughter just graduated from high school? Gee, college tuition sure is pricey...") During the week afterwards F then comes back for a 2nd appointment all to lay down, I kid you not, a few Orkin- labeled fold em' up roach traps like you can buy for a dime a dozen at Longs, and I ask him "but you're gonna spray though, right?" to which he firmly replies yes. Then before he decides he's gonna spray he asks me if I'm going to sign up for a year's worth of treatments in advance, to which I answer "hey man, I really need to see how effective the treatment is first..." F gets all huffy like "hey, I thought we had a deal"(?) and then walks right out the door without spraying a single corner in the entire apartment, just plunking down the roach bait[!!!] A week later I get a call from Orkin. They ask me if I really intend to pay for a full year of treatments as F directed them to charge me for, and I irately tell them to cancel all future appointments with no lack of either clarity or anger in my voice. They assure me everything is canceled and I literally ask them "so that means I won't get charged for anything else after the roach bait incident, right?" to which they firmly reply yes. I hang up, annoyed but thinking the matter to be truly settled. I just came back from the bank today; I had to return a check that came in from Orkin, apparently they really went ahead and blithely charged me a further $100+ for an appointment "pre- charge" or some baloney like that even when they repeatedly promised me they would not after I had made ABUNDANTLY clear that I was afraid of this very thing happening to me... So, I decided to let you all know to steer clear of these cons; I mean it, at least if the exterminators are stealing your money 'cus they think you aren't paying enough attention then at least they could do a halfway competent job, amirite? Oh, and the best part? About two nights after the roach bait incident, I still saw little creepy crawlies running all over my kitchen counter and had to call a nicer dude over from another business. I have been using Orkin for my pest control over a year now. The first tech I had was really good and then he left and became a manager. He's now gone to the mainland, The second tech I had, I had problems from the beginning, Even after he would come, I would still have ants. More than once, he dropped off "bait traps" and told my husband to put it where the ants were coming. This is not our job and it's what we are paying the company for. Also, this did not take away the ants....he should have sprayed more or better. Now, after 3 weeks of ant problems in my house again, I have called the tech 3 times, no response, I called the mainland office and they said the management would call me. No response,. I called the local office and spoke to the front desk person I guess, she told me she would have the manager call me,. Still no response,. 3 weeks and counting,....endless ant problem....maybe I should go with another company after all this. If I had an option for no star, it would be the rating. Their guy was rude and did not even do the job right. I don't know if he really did the job once he kicked everybody out of the unit (I do understand we have to leave the unit). We still see roaches running around the unit as I do this review. I guess he was not happy because he tried to charge more, but we stuck with the original service and price that the last guy did. The last guy was great. But this guy, I wouldn't want him in my place ever again. Terminix might have more friendly people and might do the job right. read more
