The day before we stumbled on the amazing team at Roberts Automotives my husband and I had flown up to Washington to collect our RV (which had been stuck there for nearly 3 months being repaired after we hit a deer while exploring Washington's National parks over the summer). On day 2 of our road trip back to Los Angeles from Washington, our newly repaired A/C stopped working! It was late in the afternoon on a Friday so we knew finding a mechanic willing to help us close to closing time, and in an RV no less, was going to be a challenge but after speaking with the owner Sean on the phone we trekked an hour out of the way to visit his shop in Chico. Not only did he and his guys stay after hours to help us but they were also the friendly faces we needed after a stressful day on the road. They took amazing care of us, communicated in detail what was wrong and how they were going to fix it, and even took us on a road test to ensure all was working as it should before we headed out. I have contacted the Bureau of Automotive Repair (the licensing agency) and since found out that Accurate Auto is a NAPA AutoCare affiliated service station. I have notified them of Accurate Auto's rather unsavory business practices, negligence, and unsettled situation with the recovery of expenses I incurred. Furthermore, negative postings are appearing on Craig's List under Chico (general community), RipOff Reports' website, and can be found under the August 7, 2010 posting at http://ejourn.net/journal It has come to my attention the business is now listed as owned by Michelle Jeffries, Rob's wife. The negative feedback I posted at their Facebook business page was removed, however, for your viewing pleasure, I have uploaded a picture here along with pictures of the belts they should have replaced and had they done so, none of this would be happening. Simple common business ethics people. Is that really so hard to get?

If you want amazing work and to have the problem fixed at a great price with complete honesty and transparency, go to Mike's Automotive! I went there because I had a leaking fuel line. I was quoted at other shops at unreasonably high prices. I had never been to this place. My aunt went there when her truck wouldn't start and she was stuck in Chico. They were incredibly kind and honest with her. So, when my truck started leaking diesel fuel, my mom and aunt both recommended Mike's. It's worth mentioning that the work they did was done back in April. This review is being posted in June because I wanted to make sure that the work would hold up, and it has. The prices and service was so great, I had them fix my rear fuel tank, change the oil, and do a tune up. All of this was still less than $1,000.00 and was amazing quality. This place literally saved me more than $1,500.00 and I can't thank them enough. This place is not very well known but it needs to be. Big chains may have history and reputation on their side, but you'll end up regretting the cost, quality of work, the lack of honesty, the time wasted if the job isn't done right the first time, and the really impersonal people that see you as another dollar sign. If I ever have problems with my truck that I can't fix, I'm going to MIKE'S AUTOMOTIVE!
