There are good things about this restaurant. The enchiladas are tremendous. The Mexican rice is as good as any I've ever had. Good margaritas, and I've never had a problem with the service. However, my wife and I very recently went to The Plaza for dinner on a Friday night and there was a so-called "mariachi" band playing. The sign said they'd be through playing by 9 p.m. but well after that time they were still "playing," if you can call it that. I don't know what was worse, the fact that this band was so deafening we could barely hear one another speak across the table or the fact that the band was absolutly horrendous and was not playing mariachi music but lame covers of Journey and Neil Diamond. How anybody got the idea that this band would improve the customer's experience is beyond me. It was so bad that we cancelled our food order, paid for our drinks and didn't stick around to drink them. We fled this establishment with our ears ringing and went to Cancun for a calm, civilized meal. I've been a regular customer of The Plaza but I don't think I'll be back. read more

We ordered the vegetable fajitas, and added steak. The mushrooms, tomatoes, onions and peppers were cooked perfectly, as was the steak. Everything tasted great, especially the salsa. Mason provided great service as always. We sit in his section every time. It was a little loud in there, but I'm old. read more

I've been hearing about the place from my parents who eat here multiple times a week. They LOVE it. I came for dinner around 7:30 with my mom on a Tuesday and we were seated right away in the beautifully, yet minimally, decorated dining area. Service was extra friendly and super quick, and our food came out rather quick as well. The owner did a walk through to talk with all of the patrons and that was a nice touch. The plates are enormous with no shortage of food. I ordered the stacked red brisket enchiladas and, holy mother of God was there a generous portion of meat. I could barely eat half of just the enchiladas, as the stacked come with 2 eggs (THE BEST IF YOU REALLY WANT TO EXPERIENCE INCREDIBLE ENCHILADAS IS TO ADD A FRIED EGG). I had a bite of my mom's Chile Relleno and it was perfect! Crunchy, filled with ground meat and over a cheese sauce- mmmmmm. We of course had plenty left and asked for boxes and the server even brought containers to take the large portion of salsa home with fresh bags of chips to go. Super generous. I forgot to mention my mom insisted we order the Fried Mushrooms since I'm a huge mushroom fan and she said they love them leftover in the airfryer. They, too, were epic and we barely put a dent in them. Pretty much brought them all home;) For the amount of food we received, I feel like we got a steal of deal. They have daily food and drink specials that are amazing deals. I had a $4 margarita that was good (I added a sangria shot and it made it kindof sweet for my liking). I hope we come back while I'm here this visit and I know my parents will continue to be regulars here. read more

Food is good, service is very hit and miss sometimes good and sometimes you wait and wait to get service even when not crowded. The biggest complaint is the noise it is very loud not only in this one but the other one as well. read more

Have currently been at the restaurant almost 2 hours and still don't have my food. Looks like this place does NOT care about its customers. Used to be a great place but fell off, definitely don't give it a chance. read more

This place is just as bad as the original location. The first thing I noticed was our waitress setting dirty plates on our table. I mean...you get nothing from me afterwards. They screwed up my salad AND our orders. When we finally ate it was well below mid. Waste of money. Waste of time. This is why, when you drive past it, there are never any cars in the parking lot. read more

Came in for lunch with my family today. Early lunch on the Fourth of July. Only 4 other families in the whole place. So we like to sit in booths when available. So we ask the hostess for a booth. There was 5 empty, and we were told that we couldn't sit in a booth and had to sit at a table because of the wait staff rotation. Which I do understand to a point and I've never been to another establishment that has ever done this. Or even given an option to wait for one to open. read more

Went to the new Plaza for the first time. We were able to get right in and the service was great. They brought a new bowl of warm chips before the first one was empty and I was impressed to see management assisting their staff. Overall the food was pretty good. The bacon wrapped shrimp were terrific, but the papas were very garlicky. Most everything else was average to pretty good. The cheese sticks on the sampler were a little weird. Really the only true disappointment was the appetizer which we were keep being told "it's on its way" never came. We were told that it was on its way at least 3 times. The waitress told us she was going to speak to the manager about it ( we didn't ask for that), but I'm not sure what happened with that. It was finally brought out with the entree (fajitas) which had hot chicken and cool steak. Not sure what happened in the kitchen, but was a bit of a damper on what was an otherwise good meal. read more

Food is good, but the hostess was rude and management didn't care when brought to his attention. In fact, he was rude as well. We eat there often because we like to food, but the hostess never quotes an accurate wait time. Be prepared to wait longer than they say. I understand it is hard to quote an accurate wait time, but going from a 5 minute wait to 45 minutes is not acceptable. We went on a Sunday at 5:00 and the restaurant wasn't even busy. read more

Great new restaurant off Slide Road serving very good Mexican food along with great service with a smile. Had lunch with a client there and we enjoyed the meal. I also frequent the Plaza in Dumas and there are several locations in the area. Give it a try and will be glad you did. read more

Service was totally fine, however the food was BLAH. We ordered queso, but seriously guys, it's the orange 'cheese' from a can. Awful. Salsa was blah, everything we ordered had zero flavor. Like, what is going on here? read more
