This review pertains to the store at Ina and Shannon. The company consists of three stores in Tucson, all privately owned by the same person until unfortunately, purchased by Specialized bike company and since then, the business has changed and not for the better. First, anyone knows how pricey this bike company is so it comes as no great surprised that everything is so much more expensive than before, particularly labor. Secondly, the service is not friendly or helpful as in the past. Its gone CORPORATE.. In the past, you could get almost all minor issues quickly resolved with a smile now you have to get a work order that may be days out.. I just had a electric button replaced that looked like it was a plug in and had to wait several days and of course, no matter how minor, you leave it off and then they text you two hours later to schlep back to the store. The work order could be two or more weeks out, Never before did it work that way. The staff attitude is also different. There are some helpful and friendly employees but others with an attitude. It just depends how lucky you are to get the right person. Sabino Cycles on Tanque Verde is privately owned, carries Specialized and OTHER brands unlike this store. I have had good experiences with them in the past and they will be my next bike purchase. read more

Staff is super helpful and friendly, and they're really good at figuring out how much you know and treating you accordingly. I can walk in and rattle off the specs for the tubes I need, and I don't get talked down to because I'm woman-- which sadly happens a lot in the sports world. They were especially helpful last time I went saddle shopping. They had a gel pad to measure my sit bones, advised me on which one might work best, and let me return it after a couple of test rides and it didn't quite work. Great place to stop in for little things like nutrition (good selection of the stuff I buy a lot, like shot bloks), chain lube, and socks. read more

I bought a bike and brought it in for the essential service. Guy said it would be done in 3-5 days and they'd call me when it was finished. 6 days went by with no update. So I called them to see what was going on, they said it would be the next one done. Another day goes by.. no phone call, no bike. Not cool. Finally got it back after 8 days. It seems like a good shop with friendly people, just wish they would have communicated better. If you bring your bike in for service make sure you allow for extra time over the quoted finish date. read more

My pre - El tour tune up consisting of new cables, drivetrain and brake adj. was completed before the pick up date. Rancho Vistoso could not commit to completing within a week? The Ina shop are definitely riders. The Ranch Vistoso shop is staffed with Enduro bros' with too much attitude and not enough talent. How can there be such a diff between locations? I've been meaning to leave a review because this location is fantastic! We went in early May to buy a bike and Woody was really a great, patient teacher. We haven't bought bikes in many years and he listened then helped identify perfect bikes. In the months since, we have ridden more than 500 miles and, of course, had a couple of flats (which they taught us to repair) and some minor gear issues which they fixed for free. Always helpful...wearing masks...generally people are good about social distancing too. While I can't speak to their inventory recently, they had a great selection when we were there, especially for Specialized. read more

boy what a waste of time going to their store on shannon. No one knew where the correct size tube was and they thought drilling the stem hole out to fit the tubes they did have was a good idea. I have used OV Bicycle a dozen times for service to my used bike over about seven years and always had good service. Last month I needed a new front gear cassette and Jim replaced it in about five minutes of my getting there. Today my back tire was leaking air so I took it in and Jim fixed it while I stood there. The song "Black Water" had just started when I arrived and the song was hardly finished before he handed me back the wheel. He said the old tube cracked at a place that was probably the tube manufacturer's fault so he could "warranty" it and did not charge me for the new tube, only $5 for the labor. Bought quality bikes here for the kids and myself last year... I have returned several times over the past few months to buy a bits and pieces as the need arises. The service is outstanding, and the knowledgeable person (Woody) I normally deal with has earned my respect and my spending habits. There is no doubt that thanks to his cycling acumen, I love the bike he helped me select (a Specialized (that's a Manufacturer, not a custom order) 29" Mountain Bike with a 23" frame). The Bike fits like a glove (I am 6'4", the last time I rode a bike comfortably was somewhere in the 80's (about 6" ago)) and meets all the cycling expectations I have (Mount Lemon Trails, riding up and down desert washes, street riding for regular exercise). If you want to enjoy cycling, don't mess around with a Department Store or online shopping, go to a dedicated bike shop and let the staff do what they do... and if you are in the Northwest Tucson area, I cannot recommend Oro valley Bicycle higly enough. P.S. Thanks to the $800 I shed on the RIGHT bike, I have lost over 40lbs in the last year. Diet is important, but nothing beats Cardio work for weight loss. read more

Oro Valley Bicycle shop has been nothing short of disappointing. I have been there numerous times and have spent quite a bit of money in there just to feel harassed by the older staff working there. They don't have much sense of a community either seeing as i used to consider myself a regular but not once did anyone treat me that way or acknowledge that I am a returning customer. Some of the employees such as the young lady and few of the young men were friendly and helpful but never have i once felt comfortable with the older people working there. I am relatively new to cycling and i don't feel comfortable asking them questions regarding products, considering the last time i asked them about brake pads. One of the older men who's most of the time behind the counter basically just talked to me like i was an idiot. Ordinary helped me out when i first bought my bike around February of 2011. I brought the bike in, they were super friendly, super helpful, gave me some recommendations on things to get for my bike and even wrapped my bars for free. It's a shame because OVB is literally right around the corner from my house. Now I will just go there to look at things i want to see hands on and then just use the internet to purchase it, as everyone knows that this is where you will find the cheapest products. Not to say i'm explicitly cheap, i love contributing to the community, but not when you don't make me feel like part of the community, For that you will lose my business. Maybe you shouldn't discriminate against young adults, its not only OLD people that ride street bikes. read more
