I unfortunately had a bad experience at roadrunner Bicycles. I had arrived in Tucson on Thursday evening the 17th to visit family. My Mt. Bike had come loose on the way and I had to dismantle and put it in the car. Preparing for my ride the next morning I found there to be some front disc brake issues. I rode to this shop and arrived at opening. There were only two employees wearing no masks and I there. I was wearing my mask. I explained the issue and that I was in from out of town and rode to their shop. The man in charge there told me he could look at it and get it back to me that afternoon, as he was making his pour over coffee. I would have had to get an Uber back to grandmas. I again asked if he could please just check it real quick, and he replied he couldn't because real quick would turn into 30mins to an hour. I left extremely disappointed and called SABINO CYCLES who told me to come right over. Sabino Cycles was very busy with customers and the mechanics were working on several bikes. They were super helpful and understanding! The gentleman took my bike, made a quick brake adjustment and I was out riding again In 10min's!!! So if you are in need and want a little help and understanding Run like a RoadRunner over to Sabino Cycles, fantastic customer service, fantastic mechanics not to mention just a great shop in general!!!

This year they geared me up, got me fitted to my bike, and gave some crucial advice that helped me complete my first-ever century ride in El Tour de Tucson.

I figured I would also pick up a helmet and shorts while there, but ended up getting so much more thanks to Steven, who went above and beyond! He took the time to properly fit me for my very first bike and walked me through everything I needed to know -- from how to ride more efficiently, to ways to practice, how the gears and tires worked, and even how to clip in (which felt intimidating at first, but he made it approachable and easy to understand). His knowledge and patience really made me feel confident and excited to start riding! He helped me find the perfect helmet and guided me through the uncharted territory of buying cycling shorts - the shop has a great selection of both (and literally every other thing you might need to ride). They also have a nice selection of nutrition and he gave me tips on how to fuel for race day which was super appreciated. Everyone who came through the door was greeted and all seemed to know each other which was a great sign of a strong community. The prices are a bit higher than what I'd seen on Amazon, but the products were far superior in quality and so in my opinion, totally justified. One customer I chatted with mentioned that when you shop there, the service is better than anywhere else, and so based on my experience you get what you pay for so the investment is well worth it. Also, shoutout to their resident shop dog Miska -- total sweetheart and an unexpected highlight of the visit The store has a great selection, welcoming vibe, and an incredibly supportive team. Highly recommend for anyone getting started or leveling up their cycling game!

In spite of Tucson being an international biking Mecca, the city streets here are still very much the wild west. I had gone through life thus far accident-free but was hit head on by another bicyclist a few weeks ago. The Ogre survived but it was time to get stronger brakes and tires. In Tucson, bicyclists need all the help they can get. Fortunately, Sam is the right guy to spec out the right improvements. He installed Growtac mechanical brakes, Gravel King tires, and a new Chris King bottom bracket. I took the Ogre out this morning and the changes made the bike feel new again. I had read glowing reviews about the Growtac mechanical brakes and, indeed, the stopping power is excellent. (I'd put them up against hydraulic brakes.) The tires give me much more traction on the many streets under construction in the city, too. I've always enjoyed bicycles because there is nothing else for me that provides such a sensory hit of adventure and fun. The little things that Sam did on the tune up added up to a dramatic difference that made for a joyful ride this morning. Thank you, sir!

This isn't one of those places, it's a fully stand alone coffee shop adjacent to the bicycle shop. This is a unique coffee shop, older brick building with a nice interior. It also has a patio in the back which is pretty cool. I've tried the sage latte and cold brew, both are very good. The staff are nice as well. The ultimate highlight for me is the food. They carry pastries that I haven't seen anywhere else, the ding dong is the bomb if you grew up in the 80s or 90s, its like a hybrid of the hostess cup cake and a ding dong. Definitely added to my rotation of favorite coffee shops to go to.
