My boyfriend and I came here with another couple that we met on our trip. We went pretty late, maybe around 9:30/10pm and were seated immediately. We ordered some beers and our friends ordered a pitched of Sangria. I ordered the Puerto Rican Combination which came with roasted pork, mofongo, sweet plantain, cassava and rice and beans. Everything was super decadent and flavorful. The pork was tender and juicy, the beans and rice were well seasoned and the plantains were cooked perfectly and had good texture. They also had a house hot sauce, which paired perfectly with pretty much everything on my plate! Boyfriend got one of the mofongos and said it was the best he'd had during our trip. The prices were reasonable and the servers attentive. I would definitely come here again. read more

The sorullitos and the trifongo de carne frita were outstanding (first time I ever had a trifongo). It's menu is reasonably priced and the staff is very friendly. My boyfriend and I went to Orozco's twice on our recent trip to PR. They have an amazing happy hour ($3 for Bacardi drinks!) and delicious, fairly priced food. The first time that we came here, it was our first night in Puerto Rico and we asked our waiter what we should order. He suggested we split a mofungo and some side dishes. We appreciated his suggestions and the fact that he wasn't trying to upsell us on anything, but simply offering ideas. Our meal that night was very good. The second time we came, we got the fried calamari appetizer (some of the best we had on the island!). The rest of our meal, chicken mofungo and their Puerto Rican combination, was delicious. They also have a great hot sauce at the tables, and even sell the bottles. Highly recommend this place - on top of the good food, the service is very friendly and attentive. This place was so good we had to hit it twice. A block or two away from the Marriott. It can get pretty busy so get there at a reasonable time or be prepared to wait for a table to open up. Pernil, Mofongo, jugo de Parcha y Acerola were all superb. read more

An average restaurant pandering substandard, Puerto Rican food to tourists who don't know any better. I knew the experience was going to be disappointing the minute we asked for more bread, while we were waiting for our food, and the waiter told us that would be an additional $2 for the bread. Really? As was to be expected, the food was made with the same care they have for their customers, which is to say it was terrible. Meat was dry and overcooked. The beans were tasteless and the rice was sticky. Horrible experience all around. There are many good restaurants in this area, be sure to skip this one. read more

Two stars for poor service and the food was just ok. We ordered chicken breast with 2 sides, shrimp Alfredo pasta and a fish entree. The place was crowded so we had to wait about 25-30 minutes which we were fine with. We used that time to look over the menu and decide what we wanted to eat. Once seated, the host called the waiter over to take our order. Luis was not very welcoming. Sure, he answered what few questions we had and took our drink and food order quickly but that was the last time we saw him until we flagged him down to bring us our check. He never came by to ask if we needed anything. We never got a second drink, he never asked how our food was, absolutely nada. One of our entrees was not prepared as asked but the food runner took care of it. Nothing about this place makes me want to go back during our stay. read more

Decided to try bc of Guy Fieri's recommendation. Food hasn't come yet, but TERRIBLE SERVICE!! in fact, we are pretty sure they are Racist against Asians.. we are the only Asian people here & we have been pretty much ignored, as we are observing all the other tables around us. The people right in front of us got their drinks very quickly, then a couple women who were seated after us got their drinks before us. My husband was getting upset so I asked when our drinks were coming-- no apologies, the young server with glasses just said "it's coming" & walked off. A few minutes later, he brought my husband's drink but my pina colada was still MIA. I kept an eye on the bartender & saw that he made it & sat it on the side counter. The server with glasses then sat another couple, took their order, & I saw him go to the bartender and chat while my drink continued to sit there. I finally got up & got it myself, asking the bartender if it was mine, which he said it was. Again, the young server with glasses was right there & heard & saw me pick up my own drink-- he never acknowledged it or apologized. My tip--- if you are Asian, STAY FAR AWAY from Orozco's!! I hope Guy Fieri reads this & uses his good influence to address this kind of treatment.. u, Guy! My wife and I needed to kill some time before going to the airport and stumbled upon Orozco's. I had already tried monfongo twice on my trip and loved. Our waiter, Francisco, recommended the trifongo (instead of just green plantains as the base, ripe plantains and cassaba were used as well) it had a nice texture and a little sweetness and a great flavor. The sauce was good too and so was the house hot sauce. My wife enjoyed her chicken empanadas. Francisco was very attentive, friendly and helpful. If I ever go back to San Juan, I'll definitely go back to Orozco's. read more

Service here ruined my last night of vacay. Waited over an hour for a table for 2 mostly due to slow service. After a half hour of waiting 3 high tops were open and no one was being seated. It took another half hour to have anyone seat us when we were next in line and ONLY because a white man (sorry I'm not sorry) in the back of the line asked to be seated. Food is fantastic but the service is not worth it. Unless you're caucasian or a male. Puerto Rican women not so much. Ropa Vieja down the block has just as good (amazing really) food and much much better service. read more

This is the first and last place we ate at upon arriving and leaving PR. we ordered the Puerto Rican special. Pork, pastel, fried plantains, and PR rice. The pork was great especially with the special PR sauce. The rice was also very good. I didn't really like the consistency of the pastel but that might be all me. The plantains were ok but I'm not a big sweets guy. We also had the cubano which was also very good again especially with the PR sauce. The kids loved the simple chicken breast dishes with crispy fries and the pancake breakfast. Overall, this place is great especially if you are staying in condado and you don't want to spend a small fortune on lunch or dinner. read more

Service was extremely slow. Several customers seemed upset by the less than speedy service. We waited 30min only to learn our order was never input in the system. But the food is great. This place is good but not great. I give it 3.5 stars. I ordered the shirt steak with rice and beans and plantains. Steak was good, but rice and beans were a bit plain. And the sweet plantains were not sweet as they weren't very ripe. Not sure if they baked the plantains but they did not looked fried at all, which I would have preferred. And plantains were just warm, not hot like I prefer my food. Ok meal for $16. My sisters ordered the skirt steak mofongo and beef steak mofongo which were a bit more flavorful. I will definitely order the skirt steak again if I ever come back here, but will skip the rice and beans and sweet plantains. I will say the wait staff was very nice and professional. read more

Alvin was my waiter and it was horrible he spilled ketchup on my husband and didn't clean it up he through napkins on the table and told him it can be cleaned no apology, no discount. I am from Puerto Rico but live in Connecticut. Every time I come here, I am in search of the best mofongo. I finally found it at Orozco. Bear in mind, if you do aYelp search in The Condado area, you will see most restaurants have many reviews and ratings of four stars and above. It's because the food here is phenomenal! But back to Orozco...I tried the Churasco TRIfongo, which is a mix of yucca and ripe and green plantain. It was incredible! The savory, juicy meat combined with the sweet from the ripe plantain was out of this world! I could eat this dish for every meal. My boyfriend had the Pernil and yucca mofongo and pretty much stopped short of licking the bowl. The mini alcapurrias were fantastic, I only wish they would make mega alcapurrias! The staff is super accommodating and so friendly. Our waitress was so knowledgeable, not only about the food, but the rich culture of the island. Excelente! We stopped in for lunch and our taste buds exploded with the great flavor of what we ordered! We had mofongo with pernil and asked for creole sauce over it, arroz con gandules, red snapper fillet and thick gravy beans. All had much gusto and tasted like my Puerto Rican mami's home cooking . Perhaps we experienced an off night but we spent the first 30 plus minutes waiting for our meal and the next 30 wishing we hadn't waited. Poorly executed, over cooked salmon and mofungo coupled with once frozen veggies revived with the deft touch of a comatose Dr. Frankenstein. Skip. Avoid. Go to Burger King down the street. Convenient and moderately priced restaurant near Marriott Stellaris. We ate here a few times. Breakfast was standard fare and some PR favorites and coffee was good. Shout out to server Melissa (5 stars for her!) who was very friendly, cheerful, nice, and welcoming!!! Good Trifongo, pork, and churrasco! Nothing extravagant but solid and good food with friendly service. Only recommendation would be to move the TV's to the bar area as it is distracting for those trying to have a nice dinner conversation but I realize space is limited.
