Knowledgeable. Takes his time. Answered all my questions so I could be comfortable with my chosen treatment route. FWIW: I think he moved here recently and so is no longer with Dignity Health. I saw him in Temecula, but I guess he does his surgeries in San Diego and is affiliated with Oasis Medical in Encinitas. - 1 star because I've been having a really hard time getting my referral/authorization to PT. The office staff has been a delight to deal with otherwise, though. Nice folks. Efficient to make the appointment and such, but now PT's staff and doctor's staff are telling me contradictory things. I've asked my insurance company to try to sort it out. I'm disappointed I've had to go to such lengths and that his staff didn't just reach out to my insurance to figure out how to secure the treatment their doctor ordered.

Unfortunately, I did not recover as expected and the shoulder continued to have the same issues. In addition, after the surgery, I developed severe biceps pain and weakness that has been far more debilitating than the original shoulder problem. For more than 10 years, I have continued to seek answers through countless appointments, diagnostic tests, treatments, procedures, and additional surgeries. Despite these efforts, I have experienced little to no meaningful improvement, and many physicians have been unable to identify an effective treatment for my condition. This experience has had a profound impact on my life, causing significant physical pain, emotional distress, and financial hardship.

I had an unremarkable MRI(lumbar), though I requested both lumbar and thoracic. At the followup visit, I asked if I should have an X-ray to rule out vertebral fractures. He said, " what do you want?" I asked for his advice. He sarcastically asked my husband if he should get an X-ray. He said I was chasing diagnoses since I saw a cardiologist to rule out heart as the source of pain. He was completely inappropriate. I have never had a more inappropriate interaction with a physician. I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for back care. I have seen all other doctors in this office without incident.

Hello everyone, I'm a 30 year old patient of doctor Pacheco's. I've been dealing with major back…read morepain since I was 17 and over the years it had just became worse and worse to the point I was no longer able to work or function normally day to day. I had originally been referred to a different ortho specialist and had a horrible experience there. When I asked to get a new doctor doe a second opinion I was sent to Dr. Pacheco. Now when I first went to see him I didn't expect much, I knew my back was bad and there probably wasn't going to be many options for me. But Dr. Pacheco was a kind and understanding person, and luckily enough he had experienced similar people with my type of pain. Ultimately he provided me with the option of a spinal fusion, I won't lie I was nervous, but I could tell Dr. Pacheco was trustworthy and he was willing to give me another shot with a repaired back. It might not be brand new but he fixed me up. Dealing with chronic back pain as bad as mine really had me in a dark place mentally but Dr. Pacheco was able to give me hope again.

My goal was to regain 100% range of motion so I could resume my normal activities including my exercise regimen comprising dumbbells and chinning bar. I had spoken to a neighbor older than me who had a torn rotator cuff repaired and could not reach up much above her shoulder. That was not for me. I knew that young people and sports people required 100% restoration while old people probably did not care as much. My research of Dr. Labovitch revealed that he was a sports medicine physician. Sports people with an injury don't want to have any limitations after treatment, so that was the best sign that Dr. Labovitch was the orthopedic surgeon for me. When I went to his office, I gained my ultimate confidence when his waiting room was filled mostly with young people. My surgery was successful, and although it took a bit (maybe 9 months) of expected rehab effort on my part, done partly at home, I regained 100% range of motion, and my arm and shoulder felt no different from the way it was before my accident. I had several subsequent visits to Dr. Labovitch for different issues, and each time his diagnosis was perfect and my recovery complete and uneventful. When requiring PT I always went to California Rehabilitation & Sports Therapy at 36 Mauchly in Irvine, run by Anthony Bisaccia, who is very competent, has a great team, and is wonderful to work with.

The technician that did the X Ray was a young woman who did not give me a lead protection cover for my body. I asked her if I needed one and she said "No, you used to need one, but these days the machines are more advanced". But I chose to ask for one anyway. I just wanted to post this review because I don't think what I was told was correct. So the office manager should make sure their staff is protecting their patients during every X Ray. This is why I gave only a 2 Star rating. But they are good and Dr Labovitch is knowledgeable and nice.
