Absolutely the Best Orthopedic Doctor My brother had a torn calf muscle and couldn't walk on his left leg at all. Dr. Kelley is Excellent in patient care, it was our 1st time ever to this office and I must say the warmth that I felt immediately was spectacular we were greeted very professional, Dr. Kelley took the time to make sure all areas were covered medication, care plan and referrals were in place I can definitely tell Dr.Kelley cares personally for each of his patients on a one on one basis Dr. Kelley greeted us with such professionalism & knowledge, Dr.Kelley reassured my brother that his recovery would be a process and he would be monitoring his progress every step of the way! When other surgeons refused to give my dad a chance and do a knee replacement on a medically complex patient, Dr. Kelley rose to the challenge and saved my dad. so far not good- was referred to Dr Kelly from an ER doctor, I have an ACL tear. The lady on the phone was extremely rude ad short- I don't know what the heck I'm doing, I was told to call and make an appointment and she talked to me like I was an idiot. I would not recommend going here. They treat you like another buck in their pocket. On hold for a long time, slow to see you, and quick to let you go. I was referred to them by an ER doctor, got in to see them, and Dr Kelley couldn't do my surgery so he referred me to a hand specialist. He didn't greet me, nor did he even tell me who he was, I had to ask the front. The lady who recovered my open wound was rough and didn't know how to put the brace on correctly. I asked the front if I could get the referral and they told me the referral specialist would call me the next day. I NEVER got a call back, even after calling three times and leaving two messages. I did my own research and found a great hand specialist on my own. They don't care unless they are going to get the money from you. read more

Dr. Kelley performed a surgery on me following a dirt bike accident. The surgery was amazing and it is healing extremely well. Unless you want mediocre results and very little feedback, don't see him. He tried to tell me initially that my muscle tear was a "strain" but I requested an MRI because I know for a fact it was more than just a strain (it was a tear) Got the MRI results and still had to wait a week to see him and discuss the results. Ended up waiting over an HOUR to finally see him and he said that surgery would be useless. Didn't even ask me if I had any questions. Didn't even refer me to physical therapy. Just told me the results and walked out. I was waiting for him to come back because I did have questions but nope, that was it. I requested to talk to him and ask questions and it just seemed like he was in a hurry. Just another doctor earning a paycheck it seems. I will be going to see another surgeon to get a second opinion. Wasted nearly 4 weeks to get a mediocre answer. Not worth it!! read more

I've been treated by Dr. Kelly for many years but for ins reasons, ive not been able to return for a major surgery that I would like him to personally take care of. He is a very good doctor and since my ins is almost about to kick in I think I'll cancel my other doctors services and just wait a little longer. It very well worth the wait . In January, I injured my knee while training for my first marathon. I was unable to make an appointment until February-- no fault of the office, I just had a pretty busy schedule. When I arrived for my appointment, not one person in the office introduced themselves to me, a new patient. When they were ready to see me, my first name and a room number was yelled from the hallway of the office; I didn't even see who called me in, I wasn't even sure if they were talking to me. When Dr. Kelley came in to review my injury, he didn't even ask what my training schedule is like, or what kind of running shoes I use, nor ask to observe my gait or anything. As a runner with a knee injury, it struck me as odd that he wouldn't even have asked. After a few quick questions and palpations, he told me I definitely either had a stress fracture or a meniscus tear. Since he said both of those would rule out competing in the marathon I've been training so hard for, I asked if it could possibly be anything else. Nope, he was confident it was either the fracture or a tear. When he reviewed the X-rays, he didn't find a stress fracture, so I was sent for an MRI to confirm a tear. (I went to a different office for an MRI the next week and had the scans sent directly to Dr. Kelley's office for review. I had an appointment scheduled back at Dr. Kelley's office the following week to review them.) When I returned to the office, (same unprofessional awkward hallway call-out), when Dr. Kelley asked if I brought in the MRI scans, I was a little confused; I was assuming that they had already been reviewed since they had already been sent to the office the week prior. Turns out he hadn't looked over them at all, and was going to view them for the first time at my appointment. He left the room to get the scans and threw them up on the screen to review them with me. As he was going over the first scan, one of the receptionists opened the door and told Dr. Kelley he had a phone call-- which he left to go take. For 40 minutes. In the middle of my appointment. When he FINALLY came back, he quickly went over the other scans, said there wasn't a tear, wrote a prescription for an anti-inflammatory and left! He didn't even ask if I had any questions, which I obviously did-- how about, oh I don't know, if it's not a fracture or a tear, which you said are the only possible two things it could be, then what's wrong with my knee? Or maybe what do I do for recovery? Will I have to come back in? Pt? When can I expect to go back to my training schedule? What can I do in the meantime? I literally had to ask someone to get Dr. Kelley to come back so I could attempt to get some more information and ask the questions I had. When Dr. Kelley came back, he said nothing more than it was just a deep tissue bruise, stick to the bike, and to come back if it doesn't get better in another week. Uh, the bike? When repeated bending of the knee is exactly what causes the most severe pain... Great, thanks for your vast knowledge and help. It's now April, over three months after my injury and thanks to Dr. Kelley, now I'm not even able to walk comfortably, never mind train. So I've scheduled yet another appointment-- but you better believe it's not with Dr. Kelley. Definitely not wasting my time there ever again. I would never recommend him to any athlete, in fact, I would urge you to look to somewhere else. What a joke. read more

I would not recommend going to this office. To start off when I first walked in, there are several girls at the front desk talking and did not great me. When I walked up to sign in the check in clerk walked off and said she needed to make a pot of coffee. The wait was not to long that was a plus. on my first visit Dr. Kelley did not great or introduce himself. I have had 3 visits with him and I feel like I have gotten no where. He always seems puzzled and has no answers for me. Not to mention the office is very dirty and not well kept. I never get a return call back when leaving messages and it's been 4 weeks and I'm still waiting for them to submit a referral. Long story short I will be seeing another Ortho next week. I would not recommend doctor Kelly. The office staff was nice and very helpful. I was taken in quite quickly. Dr Kelly came in and and was literally in the room for 5 minutes. moved my legs around and stated im going to give you steroids. I informed him both my chiropractor and primary physician wanted me to get an MRI. He stated maybe after the steroids. I have been in massive pain for the last 2 months and waited 3 WEEKS FOR THIS APPOINTMENT to get answers and all he could do was give me steroids. I appreciate Dr. Kelley for repairing my rotator cuff, I dislocated my shoulder and I tore my rotator cuff off the bone. He is an excellent surgeon!! After surgery and PT I am on the road to recovery. Dr. Kelley has excellent employees in his office. Dr Steven Kelly with orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine in Temecula is trully a wonderful physician, I took my daughter to him for a broken ankle, and another time for water on the knee. He is so good with teenagers, my daughter was very comfortable with him, and i was to. He was very informative, went over the xray with us explained in detail what he had to do with her ankle. I would recommend Dr Kelly to anyone without hesitation. We live in Murrieta and its very nice that he is so close, right across from the promenade mall. read more

Well...the first impression was very bleak. My 14 yr. old son was a new patient. When we walked in, we were not greeted, even acknowledged when I stood there for over 3 minutes... I asked a question and was given a snarky answer with an eye roll. When we did finally get to see the Dr., Dr. Kelley acted uninterested and bored. WE had waited over an hour. WE should have been the ones bored. He did order a CAT scan for my son and we were to call for a follow up consult. I asked if we could just get a call from the Dr. with the results, and was an office visit necessary...they said absolutely, the DR. will want to see my son again. Okay....because really just to get results, doesn't warrant another examination unless the results came back remarkable. No, he had to be present and we had to come to the office. SO we showed up for our 8:50 appt. at 8:37am. We then sat in the room until 9:35am. I had to go out and remind them we were still waiting. The Doctor comes in and says they found nothing remarkable on his CAT scan and that we need to continue Physical Therapy and to come back and see him in 4 weeks. THAT was it. He didn't even look at my son.....was in the room for 30 seconds. SO I suppose as long as you get your money for the visit.....that is what is important. WE will be going to a new Ortho...the staff there are really the most unfriendly, unhelpful people I have ever come across in a medical environment. AND I am a retiree from the medical field. He was very thorough when answering all my questions before surgery, he spent a lot of time going over the post-op results and answering all my post-op questions. Dr Kelly is amazing. He did my initial surgery after my hit and run accident. I was struck from behind while jogging and had a compound fracture of my Tibula, and a shattered Fibula. I read the reviews on Yelp and 2 of them stated that Dr Kelley was not attentive and visits were very fast. I disagree with that as Dr Kelley was VERY attentive and took ALL the time I needed to address my concerns. In fact, when I needed to look at options for a 2nd surgery, Dr Kelley wanted me to see a 2nd Doctor in this office to get an objective opinion. I have enormous respect for Dr Kelley as he is not afraid to get a 2nd set of eyes to look at your injury. For the 2nd surgery I insisted Dr Kelley perform the Bone Graft surgery as I have full confidence in him. I made the comment before surgery that he was my "Dr Obi Won" and I am currently in recovery but after the surgery I saw the x-ray of leg...amazing job! In conclusion, Dr Kelley is an amazing Doctor. He cares, and he will not steer you wrong. So glad he was there for me. The office staff are very kind and sweet and despite having so many patients they made me feel like I was important to them. I bring them cookies from time to time because they deserve it. Give them a break..it's a tough job and they are at the front lines daily. Great job girls!!! read more

Dr. Kelley is awesome! I went in with my MRI for shoulder consult knowing I would have to have surgery. He is one of the most friendly helpful and considerate doctors I have had the pleasure to meet. I've been here three times now and each and every time every member of this office has been exceptionally nice, courteous and respectful, a hard job I think when you consider most of the people coming here will be in some form of pain. read more

We all have our days and overall I like that everything is all inclusive with surgery(off site) but same doctor, care, physical therapy, prescriptions via his office. I love that everyone seems to work together. There were quite a few awkward moments with the staff but, once we all warmed up to each other, much better. I am having a great experience with Chris, the onsite, physical therapist. He is unconventional and great at what he do. He is thoughtful and caring...great personality to go to several times a week. He is tentative. Poor Dr. Kelley is nice but so very busy. He seems a little quiet and shy but nice and professional. I feel like he is careful and will not lead me wrong. I am still healing, longer than expected...hoping for a full recovery. I would recommend this his office to everyone I know. I have a 4 instead of a 5 because like I said we all have had our days. Im and R.N. and the best piece of advise I give people is when looking for a doctor ask a nurse. The nurses at the surgery center where Dr Kelly repaired my shoulder told me Dr Kelly is who they take their family to. What more needs to be said.
