Orthoworks is my GO TO place for all orthodontic care. I was a previous client back in 1997 for my braces, came back in 2014 for incognito braces since my bottom teeth shifted a bit and now my daughter is ready for her braces. I remember having a great experience with the Orthoworks team 25yrs ago and it's great to see that their customer service has remained consistent. My daughter met with Janet, Dr. Shen, and Mo during her consultation and they all did such a great job making her feel at ease. She had a difficult time deciding between Invisalign and metal braces but Mo was able to thoroughly explain the pros and cons with both. I really appreciated how she was able to explain things in a way that an 11yr old can understand and ultimately make her own decision. It's without a doubt the entire team at orthoworks takes a lot of pride in providing the best care and service for their patients. I used to be extremely self conscious of my teeth but Orthoworks has helped me overcome that. I was that person who tried to only talk with my mouth only half open. I used to think that it was too late for me to get braces...I mean c'mon who over the age of 14 gets them..right? Well I am testifying- I am a 5ft tall woman over the age of 25 with metal braces and damn proud of it! My teeth were practically straight six months into treatment. I only have about a year and four more months to go and I must say it is worth it! The team at Orthoworks are extremely friendly, helpful, accommodating and knowledgeable. I am so happy I chose them! love these guys. I came here because i finally decided to get Invisalign after a few years of thinking about it. Since the beginning the staff has been nothing but amazing. They have made my experience so easy and painless. I missed a few of my appointments but they were very understanding and were able to reschedule me promptly. Also I had just enrolled in a new insurance plan and i wasn't sure if had coverage for orthodontics but Karla was so helpful that she called my provider and got them to pay their part of my treatment. I was recommended to this office for braces two years ago by my dentist and I couldn't have picked a better team to work with! Every time I walk in, I have the option of checking in either with one of the many amazing receptionists or through the computer. The wait is never too long and the staff themselves are great. They always make me feel warm and welcomed. They're also extremely informative when I have questions regarding my treatment. I started off with the Invisalign aligners but eventually moved over to traditional braces for personal preference but everyone at Orthoworks in San Bruno that I've worked with didn't mind my decision. I was worried about the pain when it comes to metal braces but I haven't had any issues so far. The follow up appointments are also not as bad as people say because I'm never facing any discomfort when I go in for adjustments. If you're in the market for braces, aligners, or any cosmetic dentistry, don't sleep on Orthoworks San Bruno. I'd recommend them to anyone and everyone! read more

Straight to the point and very professional. The employees that were always greeting me in the front most times is Karla and Paola. When needed to make an appointment that was beneficial around my work schedule, any information about my account, or any other questions asked.. they delivered. First time here and I'm having a great experience so far! My first appt consisted of a consultation and a pano x-ray. Tina and Nina were very knowledgeable and easy to speak with. Monique was awesome! She was super patient and helpful. She explained the paperwork/process to me step by step to make sure I wasn't confused, which I really appreciated. I was referred here by a friend. When I first got invisalign, I was so happy that they said it will only take 14 months to straighten my teeth. Only one tooth was misplaced. After 14 months, my teeth were still NOT straight. I had to wait 5 weeks for additional impressions and they did not even call me when the new liners were ready. When I was there, Dr. Shen was extremely rude to me. All I asked was why I had to wear the bottom one when I was pretty much done 3 months ago. He gave me attitude and said, "Well, do you want your teeth to be straight? You don't have to continue the program if you want to leave it this way!" I said, "It was my decision to get them fixed and they're not straight. Of course I want to get them fixed." Then he askedin a confrontational way, "Did you WEAR them all the time? You have to!" I said, "Of course!" He said, "How long?!?" I said, "22 hours every day." I hated the way he talked to me when it was his liners that were not properly cut to correct my teeth. Even if I did not wear them 22 hours/day (which I did), my teeth would still not be straight because the liners weren't cut to fully correct my teeth to begin with. Now I have to wear them for 5 additional months! Every time I go in for an appointment, I was always seen by Dr. Chung. She's very friendly. Although I like her a lot, I do not recommend this place. I paid so much for this program, but Dr. Shen was so rude to me and now I have to wear new liners for 5 more months. This is ridiculous! read more

I was a patient of this practice for over 2 years and regret paying them money. They run their business well, but would rather hand-waive and treat you like an idiot when you let them know that your bite is still not correct. I came here to fix my bite, not just for cosmetic reasons which were minor, but to make sure that I keep my teeth healthy over time. They had to revise my treatment plan several times and keep saying that the next time will work. Dr. Shen is clearly trying to minimize the amount of work that he does, even at the expense of achieving an acceptable result. He just makes excuses.... I have had other professionals check his work, and they concur that my bite needs more work. Dr. Shen however says everything is fine. If I were up for it, I would sue them for the way they managed this. I recommend you go elsewhere. read more

Staff here is AMAZZZING! I'm 27ishhh with severe crowding. First appointment was consultation. Dr.Shen came in the room, looked at my teeth and said we're going to do this this and this. Hearing him tell me the plan and the excitement in his voice was like a burden lifted off of my shoulder. After visiting him I was sent to speak with MONIQUE. This woman is amaazing, easy going, easy to talk to, understanding and sweet. My coverage was confusing because I have delta dental of Illinois but my general dentist referred me as deltacare patient and I didn't have a clue as to which one was correct. It's a HUGE relief that I didn't have figure it out on my own and to watch Monique handle everything was a treat. She knows exactly what she's doing and knows the best way to go about things when all else fails. She was given the run around over the phone and she finally figured it out and not once did she guilt trip me. She's very understanding and helpful. She's amaaaazing! She answers any question I have and if she doesn't know the answer she goes out of her way to find someone that does. It's very rare to find someone like her but to find a whole office of them is like winning the jackpot! Ok, maybe not quite but if you've been searching a LOOOOONG time for someone to help you through the process of getting braces like I have then it feels pretty damn close to it.. Everyone in this office, BRENDA, LACY, NINA, TINA to name a few.. EVERYONE has a great sense of humor, knows exactly what they're doing, maintains professionalism and just makes my overall experience, a wonderful one. :) My first appointment was only for consultation but I walked out of there with my X-rays, photos, and moldings completed. 2nd appointment was my first part of treatment I look forward to my next visit! I have had a great experience thus far with Orthoworks. As an adult getting braces for the first time, I was a bit nervous about the whole thing. I picked Orthoworks because they have several doctors who review/ discuss the best rout for your teeth straightening. I have had my braces for about a year and a half now and there have been BIG changes. The staff is friendly and accommodating ( i have to bring my 2 year old in with me on appointments which can be difficult). I cant wait to get them off but Im glad i picked a great place to get them done! :) read more

ok.. this'll probably sound weird.. but growing up, i always wanted braces.. and all my life, i never needed them.. :( well at 25 years old, i changed my dentist (a few years back, i moved to my own insurance.. thanks mom and dad).. and apparently my new dentist said.. i NEEDED braces for my overbite!! never even knew i had an overbite *shakes fist at old dentist*.. but at this age.. i wasn't trying to pull off the "braceface" look.. and they told me to do invisalign!! so i was referred to Orthoworks, San Bruno.. and i LOVE THEM!!! they're always so nice and accommodating.. i've had to reschedule my appointments numerous times due to scheduling conflicts and life in general.. and they always take me in within a few days of my original appt... everyone who works there is very friendly.. always smiling.. and the best part of it all.. I absolutely love this place! Since a child I've always been scared of the dentist! I chose this place because I felt comfortable with the environment. The staffs here are all so friendly! Debbie, Monique, Edna, May, Lacy, and everybody there are just wonderful. I didn't mind paying the total amount for braces (I don't have insurance), it's worth it because again the atmosphere is great! They are so sweet and caring. Good place to go for an Invisalign treatment. The staff are friendly and professional, and they can schedule appointments very early in the morning, like before 9 am, so you don't loose too much time off work. The cost of the treatment includes a set of retainers, plus additional follow-up visits to check on how the teeth and the jaw are doing after the treatment. I had a retainer crack on me after 9 months of daily use. They made me a new one, and only charged me the lab fee that they in turn get charged, but not for the appointment, or the new impressions they had to take. Overall, a professional, honest, and reputable business -- no gimmicks or surprises. read more

Both my husband and I are patients of Orthoworks, we have both had a good experience with Orthoworks. The staff is professional, kind, and knowledgeable. I like also like the fact that I get text msg reminders of my appointments, and the convenience of paying my bill online. Mercedes is my favorite Dental Assistant (not sure that is the correct title). She is QUICK, effiecient, and friendly! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I don't like the office set up. I don't like the chairs being so close, and the person next to you can turn and look directly into your mouth. Little dividers between work stations would be great! read more

So I got my braces off about a year ago I had to wear it for about 2 years, and let me tell you it went by fast and I loved the results! Honestly, my bottom teeth were ment for major work and after probably 1 1/2 years i noticed it was getting straighter in a short amount of time!
