They are very proud of this enormous store / restaurant / hotel and are happy to show it off. The place was originally built to be a concert venue / stadium for their basketball team. I am copying this part of the review from one I read and want to give credit to the author, Crystal G. "Johnny Morris, founder of Bass Pro shops, was considering buying the venue. Not sure what to do. He made a wager with his friend while fishing . If I catch a fish over 30 pounds I will buy the venue. Later that day he caught a fish more than 30 pounds. The deal was 'on' and the rest is as they say...history!" The place is just magnificent. The showpiece is the giant elevator that goes to the top. There is a cost for this... i12 for each adult. At the top of the pyramid is a breathtaking look out, spectacular restaurants and lodge. There are spectacular views of the Mississippi River, and all of Memphis. I walked around the giant store making sure I did not get lost and could get back to the bus. Along the way I stopped by the largest selection of fishing poles and reals I ever saw. The nice gentleman working the area showed some off and explained the benefits of them. It's one collection of items after another, candy, signs, clothing, boats, the list goes on and on... This place was amazing. I was happy to learn that they are building one close by me on Long Island. Should be a fun place to spend some time. If I make it back I would love to stay in the hotel. Everything in one place. Amazing shopping, restaurants, entertainment and lodging, right in the heart of 'everything Memphis.' Just go on the bass pro shops website and look for pet photos bookings and you can look there if you prefer to have a reservation otherwise the walk-in was there was no line. There was no weight. There were only a handful of customers in the store at that time but again this was an early morning appointment. This location opened at 9 AM and the scheduled photo was pre-selected for 10 AM just to give me an idea, but there were various timeslots so if you are a person that prefers reservations, go ahead and get to the website and click on pit bookings and Reserve your timeslot there but if you're just out and about and you happen to see this post and then walk on in

Staff has always been respectful and quick to offer assistance. Sales and transfers went without hitches. Staff has been especially helpful with gunsmithing projects. They always completed them quickly and satisfactorily. This week, they removed an existing AR barrel and installed a new one I provided in about an hour while I waited. Good communication happened during this as staff working on this had not previously done this with the particular arrangements (standard mil-spec.) on my AR/barrels. His willingness to listen to me prevented unnecessary and parts damaging steps he originally thought had to be done to complete this task. Took the AR to Jonesboro Shooting Sports Complex today. It functioned flawlessly, zeroed easily and delivered expected accuracy, hitting 10" steel @ 200 with red dot sight.

We essentially knew nothing about archery and he explained a few things and prepped some lanes for us. There was a class being held there at the same time and the instructor seemed very nice, helpful and knowledgeable as well and offers lessons at this location. Prices were very fair. It was a lot of fun, and it showed me that I would enjoy just practicing archery and also like bow hunting later this year. Overall, a great experience today and we absolutely will be coming back, but this time to get a bow or get add ons for one. They also have a wide selection of different sorts of bows and crossbows, accessories and add ons and hunting clothing as well.
