This place is absolutely amazing. It's a To-go style only place, however, up front is a covered bar with a few bar stools if you are okay with eating outside. Recently visited Sabeking with my friend, we were both craving phõ after a long day and were pleasantly surprised to see our little town of boone did have vietnamese food. We headed over for a cozy dinner but were disappointed by the lack of indoor seating. The cashier had a bit of a strange confused yet also slightly irritated attitude. But she got our orders right so I cant complain much. We ordered two beef pho and shumai. The menu is a bit more "fusion-ey" than just thai and vietnamese. The interior was a very messy, the stores old furniture and boxes scattered about. Finally the food. It was lukewarm by the time we finally got to eat. Very delicious broth, meat was mostly yummy, LOT of fat pieces though. The noodles were... not enjoyable. And there were no bean sprouts! But for pho it makes the minimum mark. The shumai was also pretty good but cold. I like how the food was packaged separately, and the prices were reasonable, the pho bowl was $11. Overall 3 stars read more

First meal in Boone... and unfortunately, not my favorite. I ordered the Green Curry with pork, Crab Rangoon, and a Thai Iced Coffee for about $23. As someone who loves Thai food and has eaten a lot of it over the years, I may have walked in with high expectations. The star of the meal was definitely the Crab Rangoon. Crispy, creamy, and served with a sweet chili sauce that hit all the right notes. The Green Curry was a different story. The curry sauce itself was flavorful enough, and I actually ate all of it. But the pork had a texture more like pulled pork than the sliced pork I'm used to seeing in Thai curry. It felt out of place and wasn't something I'd order again. I ended up leaving most of the meat and vegetables behind. The Thai Iced Coffee was also a miss for me. I know Thai coffee tends to be sweet, but this was sweetness overload. A few sips in and I was done. That said, this is a college town, prices were reasonable, service was quick, and the Crab Rangoon alone saved the meal from being a complete disappointment. Life is too short to eat mediocre food, so I'll keep searching for my favorite meal in Boone. This one just wasn't it for me. read more

I was a bit surprised to discover that this place was operating as a takeout only. It wasn't clear to me why and I didn't get that from looking at their website beforehand. I would have simply ordered ahead if I'd known. When I ultimately placed an order, it was ready in a reasonably timely fashion. The quality of food was solid. Notably, a good range of vegan options were available. My curry had some nice ingredients like bamboo shoots and leaves; I could have done with a bit more tofu but I enjoyed it. Their tea was strongly flavored. I also got a vegetable soup, which wasn't packaged effectively so a lot of it ended up leaking out, which irked me. I wish the experience hadn't been dragged down by these inconveniences because the ability to find this sort of food in this region is not a given. I would go back. read more

This was exactly what I needed on a snowy day. Sabeing is a cozy little restaurant right on king street. The green curry was warm and comforting. I ordered the curry at a spice level medium and they made it perfectly, not too spicy at all. I also got crab rangoons, the first bite I took I was treated with a lovely chunk of crab. So so good! The folks working at the front of the restaurant were super attentive and didn't forget I was waiting out in the hall for my order. Thankfully there is a loading zone right in front of the restaurant which made it super easy to park, grab my order and head home to enjoy. I would have never guessed I would have found BOMB Thai food in Boone but I'm so glad that I did! Would highly recommend trying this spot out. read more

She said this was the best Vietnamese food she's ever had. I appreciated that an employee came out and asked me how the food was and where we were from. I wished they had indoor seating. Tried this place out while visiting Boone. Was disappointed to see it was takeout only. I'm giving this two stars because my wife enjoyed her thai food (and the bites I had of it were decent). Let's talk about the sushi....easily the worst sushi I have ever eaten, I've had better at Kroger. I don't normally rate restaurants. Buyer/diner beware, the spicy tuna salad was a salad with yellowing lettuce, some seaweed salad and a glob of spicy tuna (was warm even). The nigiri had the worst rice and a thin slice of tuna that tasted old. I also got a roll and it was mush and tasted bad. The rice on all of the sushi seemed to be very old and hard in spots. We love their sushi and Thai. Our favorite is the King Street roll with a lot of crab on top. The shrimp in a blanket appetizers are delicious and a great starter. My friend who is Thai spoke to the chef and asked him to make Dry Noodles how they do in Thailand. He was impressed and they hit the spot. They only do "to go" orders to pick up at the front door. Located along King street at the end of the building, you know parking will be an issue. Also, parking stops before their store front, so you couldn't park right in front anyway. This is not their fault, just something to know. There is a parking garage across the street, so you'll have about a block walk at a minimum. We ordered for pickup and we're told 20-25 minutes. It was ready when I got there 25 minutes later. The salmon roll and tuna rolls were nice. My dining partner liked the tuna better as it had more flavor. The salmon was fine, but seemed subdued. The spicy basil stir fry was pretty good. I didn't get much spice, but the basil flavor was noticeable. The chicken was moist if a little bland, but the dish itself had a nice overall flavor. The price was reasonable, the service fine, and the food good. They have a large menu selection, so this is certainly worth a stop. read more

Due to covid , they were only doing take out. This little guy almost 10 yrs old only was awesome taking orders, payments and handing out the ordered food. Service was quick and for the price it's average for Thai - good for student meals. Red curry is missing bit of the curry, drunken noodle was very good. What a great example of all the things I love about the people of Boone: a couple who retired here and opened shop in '17 after having spent time in other acclaimed restaurants they built. Their food is both authentic and amazing. Tried their Tom Yum soup with Shrimp, my all time favorite Thai soup, and it was perfect. Actual 1/4 piece ginger root inside, multiple lemongrass stalks and galangal which are the key components of the soup. We started with seaweed salad, fresh rolls, and a Philly. All great and recommend- was just a tad surprised the fresh rolls did not have shrimp or a protein in them, so heads up! And actually the sushi and salad came after our entrees... so there's that. Of course we all sampled one another's dishes- The Pad see Ew with Shrimp, Beef Basil Stir Fry, and Pork coconut Curry soup were all equally tasty and made with a bevy of ingredients. I was on my way to Blueridge Parkway and decided to make a pit stop in Boone for lunch. I should've continued to drive because it was the wrong decision. We stopped in around 12:00 p.m. on a Saturday. We were the only customers dining in at the time. The items in the menu sounded delicious. We went with an order of the spicy tuna sushi as an appetizer, pad thai, and chicken basil and here's how it went... Spicy Tuna Sushi: It was small but delicious. The price was on point. Shrimp Pad Thai: The dish arrived it was chunks of chicken and fried noodles. It did not look like Pad Thai. We decided to let the waitress know that the order was wrong. She took the dish back to the kitchen and the new one came out immediately. It was almost as if they took out the chunks of chicken and re-fried the noodles with the shrimp. Chicken Basil Stir Fry: The dish arrived and we were confused. It was chunks of chicken, 2 basil leaves, small pieces of red bell pepper. The worst part was the overcooked, boiled egg on the side. At this point, I thought it was a bad dream. The description clearly said "Ground chicken" and "fried egg". I lost my appetite. The portions were small and did not meet my expectations for an $8 dish. I guess you get what you pay for. Overall, everyone who worked here was very kind. I love Thai food and this was not Thai food. Next time, I will continue driving to my destination on an empty stomach. I wish this restaurant all the best but at the moment, no thanks. read more

Traveled to Boone NC from FL and found this spot on Yelp. Its a small takeout only spot. I wasn't very optimistic for Asian food in this town, but we had a craving and ordered the Drunken Noodles, Pad Thai, Basil Fried Rice, Red Curry, and crispy chicken. We were pleasantly surprised that all of the dishes were very good and the portions plenty reasonable. The staff was very nice and waited for us to check to make sure everything was there and made sure we got all the utensils and sauces we needed. Definitely recommend giving this place a try. Saebing is a must have for anyone in Boone. I lived next door and had takeout at least 500 times in the last 3 years during my time as a student App State. Everything here is incredibly tasty, huge portions, and extremely affordable. Aside from being locally owned and operated, the staff are so kindhearted and the owner Allen is genuinely one of the nicest people I've ever encountered. He has kept pricing affordable, and for my go-to Alaska Roll it's been the same price since 2021. Allen and the amazing people who work at Saebing deeply care about the community and the people around them, and it absolutely shows.
