Osa is a gem located in Middletown Connecticut. With its stunning interior and friendly weight staff, this is definitely a place to check out. We've been two times now and the service and food quality are consistent. The first time we went I had a fish dish and I didn't care for it. It was a little too smoky and fishy for me. But it looks lovely. What I remember from our first visit was the burger that my husband had so when we recently revisited I knew that was the thing to get. And I have no regrets. Everything was delicious Including the cocktails. While there are so many places to visit in Middletown and we have lots to explore, we definitely recommend making Osa a priority.

I meant to write this forever ago but this restaurant was phenomenal. We love a place with happy employees that genuinely enjoy the menu and the atmosphere. Everything was delicious and I would 100% come here again.

It was so yummy!!! Plus our server was excellent! I only had the snack size and small plates because I wanted to try as much! The mushroom and polenta was delicious!!! Whipped ricotta was so light and delicious! It can get pretty noisy but the place was great! Love the vibe!

Love the atmosphere here. Feels trendy and unique. Great food choices on a rotating menu. Great service and patrons at the bar. Walked here from Krust (you might want to drive) to see if they had any good bourbons to try. While their selection isn't as big as Krust they still had some hard to find bottles for a bar. Would like to come back to try the food next time!

Finally got a chance to check out OSA with my bestie after we've been taking about going for years. We made a table reso but opted to sit at the bar instead because it's more fun. The bartenders were great. My friend loved her spicy margaritas and my rose was great. We split the salad and both had the burger. Salad was good and burger was delicious as well as fries. Wish burger came with some pickles though! Loved the vibe in this place. I kept saying I felt like I was in a sauna with all the wood slats. Lol. We can't wait to come back!

Our waiter Dave was awesome! Great experience. We had a few items. The sourdough bread uhhh so good! BBQ shrimp with the old bay biscuit to die for ! We also had the oysters a La plancha. So so so good! Add the gnocchi which was perfect. My entree I had the rainbow trout , my first time having rainbow trout it was great! My guest had the steak tip burger which I heard was great! This experience was 10/10. Ambiance is 10/10 also beautifully put together interior .

The Ambiance here was so cool! One of the most awesome and unique restaurant designs in the area! Loved the food and drinks and the servers were all very friendly and easygoing. Definitely would come back if I was in the area again.

We went to Osa for our daughters birthday recently. While I am not a fan of the loud music, it was OK. Great ambience with the wood ceiling. The service was absolutely fantastic. Very attentive waitress. Every request was followed. And without a doubt, the hanger steak was the best steak I have had in a restaurant in decades. Perfectly cooked. Presented in a chimichurri sauce that was out of this world. Extremely generous portion. Absolutely everything was delicious. Definitely worth a repeat. Kudos to the chef!

    Thank you martini

I do wish there were more signs, as both the parking lot and the entrance felt a bit vague and easy to miss. Once we finally found our way inside, we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere reminded me of another local tavern. Staffed by friendly people. The food was good, and the overall experience was enjoyable. My only disappointment was the lack of information about the history of the establishment. There is a lot of marketing that references its connection to a jailhouse on the menu, but very little information is actually shared within the tavern itself. I found myself wanting to learn more about the story behind the place. I also think it would be fun to add a photo-op area--perhaps even outdoors--with a set of mock jail bars where guests could take pictures. It would fit the theme and add a memorable touch. The tavern itself is fairly small, so I can imagine it gets quite crowded during busy times. Overall, it's definitely worth checking out.

All of our food came out around the same time, which I appreciated. The ceviche was my personal favorite--super fresh and flavorful. The Peruvian street wok was also very well seasoned. The ambiance and scenery of the place are really nice and add to the overall vibe. There were a few downsides. Parking was a bit of a hassle, and for a Saturday, the place was surprisingly empty. Unfortunately, there were some men at the bar being rude to women, and at one point even flicked us off, which was uncomfortable. Jen handled the situation as best as she could and was very apologetic and reassuring. As for drinks, the towers tend to have a lot of ice, so by the time you get to the bottom, they're pretty watered down. The bottomless mimosas were definitely worth the price, but the service could be improved--I wish there was more consistent check-ins rather than having to flag someone down. Overall, I would go back because the food was really good, but I do think having security during brunch and improving drink service would make the experience much better.

They have pretzels with dips, gourmet stuffed pretzels, pretzel sandwiches, wings, tenders and fish and chips. The bar was decorated for Christmas and they were serving special holiday drinks in fun Christmas themed mugs. I had the Christmasaurus in a red ceramic dinosaur and my wife had a Butter Rum Mocktail in a winking Santa mug. My drink was tasty and the mugs were fun. We bought a couple of the fun mugs to go. A person who I believe was the owner and the chef, was wearing a Christmas sweater and obviously loves the Christmas theme. Our server who doubled as the bartender was a bit more stoic about the theme. LOL. The food was generally good. It seemed like the pretzels may have picked up another aroma from the kitchen while the pretzels were cooking, because they had a slight aftertaste. Manageable, but not ideal. The pretzels looked great and had good texture. The beer cheese dip and mustard dip were both good. My pretzel stuffed with Mac and Cheese and short rib was good. We also split some holiday snack mix and Carolina BBQ wings. They were probably my favorite part of the meal. 4 Stars. The Hop Knot is definitely a place to check out. I was visiting Connecticut last week for wedding and staying with some friends in Middletown. I arrived on a Tuesday night with a hungry stomach so we figured Eli Cannon's was an easy spot to hit up. I went here many, many, many years ago when I still lived in Connecticut (I live in LA now) but don't remember much of the experience other then what the inside looks like and man, it still looks the exact freaking same. We arrived around 8PM and got seated right away. The staff was super attentive with providing drinks and menus and the kitchen staff had the food out super quick as well. I kept it simple and ordered a Buffalo Chicken Wrap with a side of french fries and really enjoyed it. The Buffalo Chicken Wrap tasted great and the hot sauce wasn't overpowering. The french fries here were crispy and tasted great, the perfect pairing for a late night bite (look, eating out at 8PM is late for me). Overall, Eli Cannon's is mostly a bar, but is also a pretty solid place to grab a bite to eat. I was the only woman standing there so I am not sure if this had something to do with it.... Definitely a college bar-type atmosphere. I will say the crispy brussels & spinach and artichoke dip were tasty and cooked very well.

They do offer a free lot in the back, but judging by all the cars, Mondo is very popular on a Friday evening. Sure enough, there was a big line of people picking up orders, but we walked right in and were seated immediately. We started off with a beet salad, which was surprisingly delicious, combining candied walnuts and sweet orange and green apple slices with salty feta and tangy balsamic over a mountain of mixed greens. We then moved on to paninis, generous portions of meat and toppings on freshly baked, crispy bread. One of us chose more mixed greens tossed with dressing while the other chose crunchy French fries. We also ordered a third panini to go, the Mondo combo. We asked for fries; the kitchen accidentally gave us a salad. Our server, Heather N., saved the day by noticing the error and giving us both side orders. Mondo is family friendly, and there were plenty of children during our visit. As such, the volume was a tad loud and boisterous, but nothing obnoxious that would prevent us from returning.
