Stumbled upon this off the beaten path cafe & absolutely LOVED it. The chorizo burrito was fantastic. The prices were amazing. The staff were super friendly & seemed to really enjoy/take pride in their work. The cafe has a clean & comfortable vibe. To round things off, the cafe is dedicated to serving the community by giving underserved young adults job skills & experience. Excellent all around. read more

Local cafe serving classic American breakfast and lunches. They have a rotating daily special which the few I have gotten have all been amazing! Today was a braised beef short rib style gyro which was fantastic and for only $8! Can't be beat on value. So if in the neighborhood you should stop by. read more

The Osage Café has been around for over 3 years. It's the non-profit brainchild of some neat folks at the Denver Housing Authority's Youth Culinary Academy and is designed as a place in which to provide some introductory training to young workers in the restaurant industry. Had never been there before and hadn't even heard of it prior to Yelping "healthy lunches" on our favorite website. Looks like the last review was a long time ago which tells me that this place needs some marketing and exposure. It certainly is well worth your time and energy to travel to this little known (?) but now fast growing part of Denver (right down the street from the venerable Buckhorn Exchange and a light-rail stop) to experience the very good food at extremely low prices. Reminds me of the Café Options downtown, but with a little simpler menu. Had a great salad along with some fried cod and a free taste of the chicken tortilla soup for just $8. Excellent deal, and eating there is also a great way to support your community! read more

I want to like this place because of the mission, but I just can't. My girlfriend best described it as "cafeteria food," which is spot on. I ordered fish and chips, and got froze fish planks and frozen fries. They were out of their "award-winning" wings, as well as one of the soups. It wasn't even busy, so I'm not sure why they were out of multiple options. The menu didn't strike me as particularly healthy, which is one of the goals of the cafe. The real kicker for me is the hours, they're just terrible for a place that's trying to be convenient or stay in business: no dinner or weekend hours. Lastly, the place has no atmosphere. Hanging art on the mostly plain walls and adding some music is easy and would go a long way. I like the idea, and the people working here were nice, but there's loads of improvement that needs to happen. It is cheap though. read more

This is a great concept for a restaurant. The establishment is very clean and looks well maintained. The staff are polite and come across as very earnest and caring about their jobs. I believe that Osage only serves breakfast and lunch, but; in this area with so few choices that is great! The food is very good. The have a broad offering of sides for their sandwiches and the salad option is pretty generous with very fresh looking and tasting vegetables. They make one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches you will find anywhere. "Healthy" eaters will even love this grilled cheese as it is not greasy in any way. The food is delicious. They offer flavorings for their coffee, each of which is very pleasant with no chemical taste. I do wish their coffee was stronger, but personally I love jet fuel strength coffee that let's you know you are drinking coffee. The Osage Cafe is a great spot for lunch if you ever find yourself in this area. read more

This little cafe is a great place to stop for lunch (right off the light rail stop). It is part of a non-profit training academy so you are doing a good deed and getting a tasty lunch at the same time. The food is healthy and delicious! I've always enjoyed their food, and have reviewed them before. They recently hired a new chef, and this guy is blowing it out of the water! In addition to a simple but tasty regular menu, they're now featuring daily specials with a more gourmet flair. A few weeks ago they had a grilled shrimp special with black beans, rice and roasted carrots. Today's is grilled mahi-mahi, polenta cakes, and shaved vegetable salad - PERFECTION! Light and flavorful, and in line with my efforts at healthier eating. I would add a picture, but I have to admit I couldn't wait to take my first bite and before I knew it, I'd eaten the whole thing! read more

Solid food, great concept restaurant - you cannot go wrong with this place! They have Fantastic soups, sandwiches and wraps. They train youth as a part of a culinary training academy here- the staff that work here have been a part of or graduated from the Youth Employment Academy. Service is great.. Amazing place! With their unique mission and tasty food, I cannot recommend this place enough. As this is close to my work, I have hosted a number of family, friends, and business associates to lunch at the Osage Cafe and I've heard nothing but good things. The staff is always super friendly. Although I don't know if I'd call the majority of their menu "healthy", I will say their BBQ Burger is to die for! You also need to try their grilled cheese, ribs, and the turkey bacon sandwich!! Just make sure you go there hungry because their portion sizes are big. read more

We used the Osage Cafe to cater an event at our home for about 60 people. They happily worked within our budget and customized the menu for us. The food was delicious -- fried chicken, tacos, guacamole, veggies and chocolate chip cookies. And the staff who delivered, set-up and cooked the food were friendly and worked hard. What a neat concept! The staff in this non profit restaurant are youth who have completed culinary training through the Youth Employment Academy! I love thier grilled veggie sandwich! :) The location could not be better -- right off of the light rail -- and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Two walls are windows from floor to cieling to the outdoors in addition to a windo into the kitchen. This is my favorite place to eat lunch during the work week. :) read more
