Went to Osaka for all-you-can-eat (AYCE) lunch. For $28, it was pretty good. Offerings were standard though plenty. Quality of the food was good for AYCE standards. Service was efficient and pleasant. The tip was automatically included but the server made sure to point it out to me. While Osaka's AYCE will never blow your mind and tastebuds away, its standard-ness is above average and properly priced.

We went to Osaka sushi to have dinner all you can eat on a Sunday night and although the food didn't disappoint, the service was not top notch for a place like this. However, the food choices were pretty vast and we enjoyed the different choices of Sushi they had on the menu. They ran out of creme brulee which was disappointing since we were looking forward to try it. The dessert choices are really limited and you'll be disheartened if you're a sweet lover like me.

We were at a social gathering and host decided to get takeout from this place. This location is normally an all you can eat sushi restaurant. Food: Chicken teriyaki bento. Tons of rice and chicken with their sweet teriyaki glaze. The roll is not bad. Salad is pretty plain. 3/5. The sushi and maki combo was a bit of a letdown. The spicy tuna roll looked and tasted like just regular tuna. I'd say one or two pieces had a hint of spicy but they must have missed or run out of sauce. The dynamite roll had almost no avocado so that was a big missed. The salmon seemed fresh but lacked flavor. 2/5. Pork cutlet curry donburry - pork cutlet is done really well with a crunchy breading and inside fully cooked. The curry had good flavor and balanced spice. The only bad thing is that the broccoli they gave us was definitely old in that parts of it were turning yellow. 4/5 for everything minus the broccoli but if u include the broccoli situation, drops to 3/5. Stir fried beef in udon. This was not bad, nothing too special. Hits the spot 3/5. Price: For what you get in terms of quality, I think it's definitely overpriced. Might consider trying AYCE here but probably not takeout sushi again.

Not my favourite sushi AYCE experience. While the service was great, staff were very friendly, and it was easy to get a quick table, the food was mediocre. Wasn't the best quality, the grilled meats were good, but the sushi did not taste super fresh.

My favourite part about this buffet was the rolls. I loved that they had torched rolls which you do not find at most places nowadays. They also had some standouts like a torched scallop sushi and the torched salmon sushi - which were all my favourite. Sashimi wise it was normal and how sashimi was suppose to taste. The cooked food was really good as well. I especially loved their skewers and the bbq short ribs. It was very plump and flavourful and not fatty at all. The tempera batter was light and crispy. You can tell they use fresh oil to fry the shrimp. Service was really good and they were prompt to clear our plates and bring us food. The only downside is there is less variety of items and rolls than your average sushi place but all the staples are there.

We came here for a quick lunch. We ordered a-la-carte. The have an all-you-can eat option (4 choices: sushi vs Japanese food, deluxe vs basic). The service was fast. The food taste was average. For example, the salmon had a bland taste. You don't always get what you ordered. Their combos come with miso soup, garden salad, and a small scoop of ice cream (choose one of green tea, red bean, mango, chocolate, vanilla). Combo prices are typically $10 to $14. We ordered: 1. Sushi Maki Combo A, $11.99. 2 salmon, red snapper, shrimp, crab, eel, 8 California roll. 2. Pork Cutlet, $9.99 Fried vege, spring roll, salad, rice. (Got California roll instead of spring roll!) 3. Sashimi Donburi, $13.99 4 salmon, 2 tuna, 2 crab, 2 tamago, 2 surf clam (Got 4 salmon, 4 tuna, 2 shrimp, 4 tamago, 2 surf clam) They have the same menu for lunch or dinner, even if the menu cover says lunch or dinner. There is free WiFi.

This is an all you can eat place, but it's not your typical buffet where they put out trays of food for people to help themselves. Instead, they give each table an iPad that has the menu loaded on there. You simply select what you want, along with the quantity, and then submit it electronically. At any point during your meal, you can order additional items. There's even a button you can press to call your waiter, like the flight attendant buttons on airplanes! It's a cool, efficient system. The only criticism I have about the menu is that it doesn't have descriptions, which would be helpful for certain sushi rolls where you're not 100% what's in there from the picture. It was $18.99 per person (weekend lunch), which isn't too bad. Some of the things I enjoyed here were the chicken karaage (Japanese fried chicken), breaded shrimp (not the tempura), honey garlic chicken wings, chicken teriyaki, and mango ice cream. I will say, the fried food was really greasy, so I soaked that with napkins before eating it. The sushi was not good. If there was any vinegar in the sushi rice, it was barely detectable. The fish wasn't super fresh and it was sliced very thin. The eel didn't come with any eel sauce; it was quite flavorless. We ordered a fried rice that we had to send back because it was salty to the point of being inedible. They do have a policy that if you waste food, you have to pay menu price for the items you don't eat. I'm glad they didn't charge us for the fried rice. The food came out pretty quickly and service overall was good. I don't think this place is anything to write home about, but it's okay.

    Salmon Poke Bowl
    Catherine N.

Ordered the salmon poke bowl. A little thrown off with peas and corn and little pieces of carrots (almost as though it was a frozen bag of mixed veggies) ... but salmon was fresh and the sauce was nice. Can definitely level up their avocado and cucumber game though (and spicy goes a long way!) Oh, and can do without the lettuce too. Odd combos but price was reflective of the bowl. Probably won't order again.

Salmon sashimi melted in my mouth!!! Their sushi is fresh and very good value for money overall. Torched Gold dragon is delicious, green dragon is also very tasty.

What! No sashimi in an all you can eat japanese restaurant?! Oh but they have practically everything else though. A favourite was beef teriyaki - tender and tasty. And their desserts were a huge hit! Chocolate ice cream was reordered many times. And for the first time i tried fried milk. My brain still can't wrap around the concept of fried milk... and i honestly still don't know how to describe it. But it was a good experience. Lol. Does this even make sense?! The service was ok. They made mistakes with bringing out the wrong orders, and sometimes not bringing out the ones i requested. And oh, we had to go to find spoons for our desserts. But the staff did try their best.

    Viet L.

Only redeeming thing here is the blueberry yogurt dessert lol. Service was so bad here. How do you mess up iPad service? Well, anything that wasn't on the iPad they just had no clue. It wasn't even that busy. Asked for ginger and sauce 4 times. Asked for cola and ginger ale 3 times (took 40 minutes!). The rolls were good (black dragon, dynamite), nigiri had a huge chunk of dense rice, totally disproportionate to the topping. Sashimi was okay though, medium/small size pieces. Price is on the upper scale of AYCE so go elsewhere. Not sure if I would come back here.

There's no reservation system but they do have a waitlist on Yelp which gets you in line (highly recommended). First to know is you can't pay with credit card here--there's an ATM in the front of the restaurant. As far as the restaurant goes, it was fantastic from start to finish. Our table of 4 was seated and serviced by 1 main staff member, Lydia, who talked us through the whole menu and ordering system, recommended some great starts and then kept us frequently updated all throughout dinner. She checked up on us along with her assistants who were also bringing items and servicing the table. The food quality was excellent with juicy and flavorful cuts of beef along with the shrimp, pork, veggies, side dishes/ponchon, and rice--it kept coming consistently. Grill changes were frequent as well. The atmosphere is lively and there are a lot of servers so you aren't trying get someone's attention all the time. But it doesn't feel too cramped at the same time. As it is AYCE, everyone in our group left full of course and enjoyed each course. I liked the almond tofu at the end! ----TL;DR---- Pros: great selection of meats, quality was top notch, huge portions of course as it is AYCE, service was prompt and all staff were really friendly. Cons: no reservations so need to be on a waitlist. The no credit card system is a bit of an inconvenience. Bottom Line: we loved it--definitely would go back again and enjoy more of their selections! You have to try them if you like meat and AYCE!

It's my go-to spot to get my don fix - I love the wide variety of dons (rice bowls) that they offer with various fish and seafood combinations. There are also unique appetizers in the menu, such as Purple Yam Croquettes, Crab Crackers, Braised Bamboo Shoots with Shirasu (immature whitebait fish), and Takowasa (marinated raw octopus pieces, to be eaten with or wrapped in nori / seaweed). Although the dons are the main highlight of their menu (hence the restaurant name), they also offer traditional sushi, sashimi, sushi rolls and sets (similar to other Japanese sushi restaurants). Miso Aburi Scallops were very flavourful - nicely torched, giving the scallops a nice grill / char taste. They came with red and green seaweed, and a bit of fish roe. Large Premium Hana Don contained a good amount of fish and seafood, including a whole abalone, uni, shrimp in the shell, aburi salmon, ikura (salmon roe), salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, other various fish sashimi, tamago (egg), and a few slices of cucumber on a generous bed of rice. I liked that the rice was a mix of white rice and some type of dark-coloured grains. Unatama Don came with a big piece of unagi and tamago (egg) that were both excellent. The sashimi were all fresh. Okonomiyaki was disappointing but it was sort of expected... for only $9, it was about 99% just flour pan-fried in a patty, without any substantial fillings (unlike real okonomiyaki, which usually contains protein / seafood, cabbage, eggs, and other ingredients). Location is super convenient near Bay & Dundas, ambiance is very casual, and service is quick.

We got a bunch of dishes to share and overall liked most things but some things (like the oyster) unfortunately didn't hit as well. Wagyu - thin slices but very tender and very flavorful with the cheese - surprised by how well the flavor combo worked out. Tofu - easily one of my fave agedashi tofu. Huge tofu slices with very chewy outer texture, a bit gelatinous . Really went well with the sauce and toppings Carbonara - nice chewy texture to the udon, not too soft and not too firm. The sauce was nice and creamy. Not as truffley as I thought it would be, wish it was a little more but it was still pretty good Oyster - least favorite of all the dishes we got today. It was a bit sour and the cheese felt like it didn't really help the flavor profile of the oysters. It was super oily from the cheese, felt like it was drowning in cheese/oil flavor Cod - it looks good but something is lacking, maybe in taste? Feel like maybe the marinade did not penetrate enough. The texture is still nice and soft , with a crisp skin . Also was a bit too oily for our liking, compared to other miso cod we have had. It was also a relatively smaller piece of cod. Overall, the appetizers were really good! The oyster and cod were a bit disappointing. Would come back for the carbonara and the other appetizers mentioned though!
