Neighbor gave me Oscar's number when first kid got license. Great for dings and dents. Never used for a bigger collision, but 4-5 smaller jobs not going through insurance has been great. Not easily found behind Sweet Rice and only a small sign and no customer facilities, but it is a basic body shop and price isn't cheap but reasonable for this area. read more

I went there to get some scratches and dents fixed but the estimate Oscar gave didn't include all of them apparently (that's what he said after I noticed he didn't fix the biggest dent). Have used Oscar's for really long time. Quality professional body work. When ur insurance company isn't paying for it because the other driver is at fault (so who cares how much it cost) this is where you go for a fair price. Most body shops charge u as if insurance is covering at least part of the cost. So they know that u have to pay ur deductible anyway so what does it matter how much over it costs. Oscar does quality work at a reasonable price. U save on ur insurance because u can have a higher deductible. U get the same parts from Oscar. U save on the labor. So ur cost is less than ur deductible. And it isn't, then ur car is probably pretty bad off m. read more

I had a fender bender and brought my Toyota Sienna van to Oacar's hoping to keep the charge under $1000. His estimate to replace the the bumper and fender was under $350. This was so reasonable I also asked for him to paint the hood which looked awful. He told me the clear coat had failed. The total charge was $585. I had priced just doing the hood at a dealer earlier and their estimate was $700. A few years ago I had some work done on a previous car and the was very pleased with the appearance and price. read more

I brought my Chevy truck here, one of our engineers smashed my truck, rear quarter, tailgate, bumper. Oscars did a great job. Old school, done the way it should be done. I sold that truck, damaged my work van, brought it by Oscars 15 months after original job, Oscars popped it out, No charge! I highly recommend these guys. My back fender was peeling away on both sides. When I arrived, Oscar told me I could come pick it up midday the next day and told me the cost. He delivered at exactly midday, the cost was exactly what he said and was very reasonable, the quality was excellent, and the staff were very respectful and courteous. Actually I gave this place 5 stars because one time I made a stupid move and ripped 1/2 of the underside of my bumper off of my car by hitting a concrete block I did not see. I didn't realize it and I drove home and back again. I drove to Oscars embarrassed and they fixed it for me very quickly and for free. We have used Oscar's Body Shop over a 20 year period, probably close to 10 times, and were always very pleased with the work, the service, and the price. Our problems were usually parking related dents and scratches. We were always satisfied with the results and pleased with the prices. Over the years we have referred many friends to the shop, which is hidden away on Route 7 behind the U-Haul in Falls Church. Obviously for a small shop like that you have to allow for some flexibility in timing. And don't park overnight under the little tree that is a definite bird favorite! read more

So our car was hit from the left rear side and left heavy damage. We took our car to this shop and we we got back in return was not so satisfying. It took about 2-3 weeks to get our car repaired and we have multiple complaints. If you are here to get a small damaged fix, you should be fine, but if you have lots of damage weather it's internal or external I do not recommend this shop. I am going to begin with the first noticeable about the car, the left side rear bumper and fender. The bumper seemed to be replaced, but when they put it back on, it was not flush with the car. There is a noticeable gap that looks unnatural. The next was one of the license plate bulbs. In the rear tailgate, the right side bulb was missing and we had to replace it ourselves. The third noticeable thing we found was that on the tailgate, there was two plastic covers missing. These are are not major things, but they should be fixed with the money and time spent. The fourth, the rubber seal on the trunk that lays in-between the tailgate and the car is all chewed, not fixed and looks terrible. Again, with the money spent on this operation these things should be fixed. Next up, the interior trunk light, it was missing, instead there was just a wire sticking out. For the sixth, the trunk cover compartment does not close properly, it should be flush and flat, instead its sticking up from the ground. Next thing, the trunk does not properly close. When the trunk is closed, it does not lock, the car starts notify us that the trunk is not closed. We now have to slam the trunk using lots of force to close it. And a recently discovered, the fuel pipe from the exterior of the car to the tank. When we went to refuel our car, the gasoline starts to overflow and backup as if it is clogged. During the crash, the fuel pipe was squished. We payed thousands and thousands of dollars for a repair and we cannot even properly fuel our car anymore. And last, the passenger seatbelt is loose, meaning when the seatbelt is put on and later taken off, the seatbelt should return to its normal position, instead it does not retract and lays like a loose wire, we had to fix this ourselves. I do not recommend to come here. If these are just the exterior faults, there there are many many interior faults that we cant see. If they put in no effort in at last making the car look good from the outside then there is definitely some sneaky business under the fender. I might come back to update this review, as some of these complaints were found over time and no in the same day. Thousands and thousands of dollars spent on fixing this car and it comes back with faults that had no effort to be coven up with. Be safe and do your research before you come here. read more

Very irresponsible and incompetent people. They said that they would fix my car in 1 day, but kept it for 4 days and did literally nothing, saying that they could not find the problem. But problem was obvious. In addition to all this, they soiled my car windshield with drops of clear coat and a small toolkit from my car mysteriously disappeared after visiting them. UPDATE UPDATE January 2011 First we were totally satisfied with the body work on our car and the paint job, But Hyundai told us that the paint job was not completed because it is a two layer paint and they only made one layer. That s why only 2 stars instead of 5... I would go to Jack's Auto Body in Falls Church. 15% more expensive but totally worth it! You get what you pay for I guess... ORIGINAL REVIEW August 2010 4 1/2 stars. Okay, this review is the result of a 6 hour tour to 10 body shops in Arlington, Falls Church and Fairfax, in an attempt to find the best price to repair a deep scrape and dent on my rear quarter panel that I estimated to be 500 dollars in repair costs. The day before yesterday, I scraped the side of my car on a brick wall at my home, leaving a horrible scrape and dent on my rear quarter panel and door. Jack's Auto Body was actually the first body shop on my list, which was highly recommended by the Alexandria Hyundai car dealer to me. I drove up the car shop and Jack just pulled a car out of his repair shop and greeted me with a smile. He explained what work would have to be done and said it would be 330 Dollars. Wow, that was agreat price I thought, but the downside was he was so busy he could not repair the car before Monday. He said that on Saturdays, he just does estimates, no actual repair work. Since it was my fiances car and I had to fly back to Germany that Monday, I decided to check out other car body shops. I found that the average price asked for was 700 dollars, the second cheapest was 400 dollars, the most expensive 1000 dollars. Actually, I had one more auto body shop on my list which was Oscar's Body Shop in Falls Church. It is very hard to find from W Broad street, since it is in a backyard with no sign on the main street (W Broad St) telling you were to go. Actually, it is pretty close to the Hertz rental. Best way to find the turn is to look out for a sign with the red and black letters "1115 W Broad Street entrance" When I finally found it, I had a good feeling that this would be good quality car repair for a rockbottom price. Oscar speaks English, but not all of his staff does. the whole body shop is more a extended double garage than a shop. The shop is not nice and clean, but I prefer to not get free coffee and leather couches in the lobby to sit in, if that brings down the price. Although I had not a good feeling at first to leave my car here, the fact that Oscar's was actually repairing taxi cabs made me feel better. I mean, who knows more about a good body shop than a taxi company, right? Out of all body shops, I stopped on my way to Oscar's the estimate I got was between 330 dollars and 1075 dollars. Now, I thought, okay given the fact that I wear expensive clothes would probably make the price go up, but Oscar looked at my car, asked me to come to his office, put in some numbers in his calculator, and the final price was just 275 dollars!!! Wow, that was a great price, I thought, and I even found out that Hertz which is in 3 min. walking distance gives you a discounted rate of 37 dollars a day if you get your car repaired at Oscar's (make sure to bring the estimate to the car rental). Even better than the 20% off compared to the second cheapest estimate was the fact that I could come pick the car up in 24h! The reason why I give 4 1/2 stars are two facts: the car was actually not ready when I came to pick it up. I was told to call his phone number to ask when exactly it would be ready, but no one answered that phone the whole morning. When I got there 24 hours later, I was told that the car would be ready in 1 hour, so I waited at a nearby Starbucks for an hour (no biggy). The second reason why I give 4 1/2 stars was the fact that a small translucent sticker for gravel damage protection was not replaced, barely noticeable, but I noticed it when almost of the body shop lot. I turned around and Oscar said I could come pick it up the next work day. 5 stars for Oscar's because the car looks almost like new. My fiance and I were impressed and I would not be able to say what a more expensive body shop could have done better (thinking of the body shops charging 1000 dollars just a few miles away from Oscar's). read more

Got into a bender fender, and the hood of my car caved in. There was no internal damage, but had to have the hood of the car replaced. Took it into Oscar's and they got the parts did the work then painted the whole front end, they did a GREAT JOB at an extremely reasonable price. Oscar kept me updated through the entire process, he was very professional. My car looks like new! It takes a bit of a search to find Oscar's greasy little shop, tucked behind the U-Haul dealership near the I-66 exit toward Falls Church onto Highway 7. But if you're looking for a great price for a very good job, it's definitely worth the effort. I've taken two vehicles there for work that was not covered by insurance. Both times, Oscar provided prices that were about half the going rate. Work was completed on time, with no "extras" added on, and I found the work more than satisfactory. If you're looking for a perfect restoration of your '65 'Vette, this is not the place. But if you want to get your wheels up and running again after your front end got crunched; you need to pass the next safety inspection; you want a nice looking job, but are not demanding perfection; and the price for repairs is coming out of your pocket -- this is absolutely the only place to go. read more

The only thing "cheap" about this place is the workmanship. It looks as if it should be cheap--out of the way, no fancy front office with staff, and some reviews say it's cheap, but my experience was the opposite. I try to get price quotes for this sort of work, but because of various life difficulties, was not able to do so for my black Toyota Camry, so I stopped at Oscars based on prior reviews and it's location. I was surprised at the price quote from Oscar, $1400 to paint and repair dents in the side and replace the back bumper and a side mirror, but when I questioned it, he insisted this was a good price for the work, I had few alternatives, and, I thought, naively, since other reviewers said he gave a good price it must be a good price. I so regret the decision. Shoddy does not begin to describe the paint job. The white underpaint shows, there are white paint spray marks in all the corners (very visible on a black car), dings that were supposed to be filled still show, some sort of white mark (looks like a boot print) is visible on the side. The painted surface is rough and looks as if it was gone over with sandpaper. The only things that look decent are the bumper and the mirror--which are parts obtained from outside suppliers. For $1,400, this should have been an excellent job--it wasn't a difficult repair. Instead, I feel gypped. read more
