Bright new interior decor and electronic menu board. Same great food & service. Always fresh green and red sauces add a hit if savory spice (not too hot.) Also new to me today was a delightful Carne Asada quesadilla. ¡Que rica, sabrosa y Deliciosa!

Grabbed a Carne Asada Quesadilla and Chips & Salsa to go and split for two. We were pleased with the amount of ingredients in the Quesadilla but wish the meat had been a bit better quality/flavor. The salsa really threw us, there's something so odd and unique about it - not at all what you'd expect. I can't put my finger on the flavor, almost something more akin to an Italian sauce with a kick than a Mexican salsa? If someone can identify the distinct flavor - please let me know! The service was quick in the middle of the day on a Saturday! While we did not stay, I absolutely adored the inside of this store, so cute and spacious and would make a great place for a small group gathering!

coming from a californian these california burritos are insanely good, top tier authentic mexican food!

Very disappointed in this location. California burrito was full of mushy potatoes & weird sautéed vegetables. Your Nations location does it right. Why the difference between locations? If you're from Southern California I wouldn't recommend going here.

So I've come here a few times now and I think it's an ok place. It's definitely tex-mex style trying to be more on the mex side. They have different choices but the tacos is what I have tried. Their fish tacos are ok and their pastor is good. They have salsa bottles (red and green) and they also have the chips and salsa (you have to pay for those). The tex style shows on the serving size, the cheese container size and the prices lol. They have alcohol (beer on the bottle for what I saw) and they have fountain drinks. You go to the cashier and order your food from the menu above like a fast food and then they call your order number for you to pick it up. The space is decorated with mirror paintings and with the Mexican feel (bright colors, etc). They have a decent space but it could get crowded during lunch time. I can't recall if they have seating outside but they may. Overall is a good place to go get a quick lunch.

Great last minute meal downtown! The food was hot and fresh, not to mention tasty! Hit the spot perfectly. My only regret is that I walked past this place for the last couple of years on my way to some other restaurant. We had the daily special and a calicheeto burrito. That burrito was everything, crunchy, creamy, crisp and soft, not to mention huge. So tasty. I will return frequently for that food.

We stopped at Oscar's this past Saturday after visiting a nearby pumpkin patch with a recommendation from a local. Five stars! The staff of this fast casual dining option was friendly, knowledge, and ready to give recommendations. I believe between our whole party, we ordered ever taco option. However, don't despair! That doesn't mean the menu is small. It is full of taco, burrito, quesadilla, and combination options. I ordered three tacos: Carnitas, Shrimp, and Carne Asada. Each one had specific toppings to compliment the meat. I loved how the meat (or main veggies for veggies taco) was the focus and the other flavors were complimentary. The shrimp taco was my favorite with the creamy and tangy sauce drizzled on top. The location itself is smaller, only seating about 30-40 with outside seating, but there is a beautiful lake front park right across the street with plenty of picnic tables. It's a huge added bonus for such a cute setting! Check out this fantastic restaurant and enjoy the cutest little community it is in!

Newish to the area and just tried Oscar's for the first time the other day. The fish tacos were amazing! Great flavor, bigger/more filling than I expected, and were very decently priced. Stopped in for lunch today with my boss and a coworker. I had the chicken quesadilla and it was great! The other 2 guys both had tacos and they looked really good. They said they were delicious. They prices were reasonable. It was $10 for my quesadilla. I will definitely go back!! read more

Oscars is pretty good for what it is. Great queso and burritos. Prices are very good and it seems relatively clean inside. Had a breakfast burrito and it was massive and really good. My wife had fajitas and they looked decent. Been going here a while and it is good for kids and a quick bite of Mexican food. read more

Visiting from CA and we've heard good Mexican is hard to find here. We liked this place a lot. Salsa was yummy, loved the shrimp, Al pastor and carnitas tacos. Even had queso dip which my daughter loves, that could have been thicker consistency but taste was great. Definitely recommend. read more

When in Westhaven! For a taco shop way down in Franklin this place rocks. I visited during lunch time and it was hopping with customers at every table. I went with coworkers and everyone agreed that this was a sure bet for lunch when we were in the area in the future. I ordered the carne asada torta which was absolutely enough for two people and a great value at less than $7. With the community in the area growing this place will only get more popular, so make sure you check it out now! I mean doesn't everybody love Mexican food!? read more

Good food, large portions and cheap prices! The majority of their menu is great although the chorizo torta wasn't good. I like chorizo but this particular meat here seemed chewy....otherwise everything else has been great! I've heard good things about their breakfast burrito- which this area needs more breakfast places! The only the downfall is they aren't open Sundays. Come on, people want easy food on the weekends! :) read more

I ordered a combo plate with 2 tacos (chicken + Carne Asada) when I went for lunch last Wednesday. Then, I thought about how delicious it was every day after so I got it for lunch again today!! I could seriously eat here every day. It is so fresh. They give you so much food for a really great price. I'm in love with this place and I wish I could take the whole restaurant back to Colorado with me!!! read more

Oscars - why do I love you so? Since moving to Nashville a few months ago (from SoCal - land of amazing Tex Mex), I have made it my mission to try as many taco spots as possible. I've been to Oscars 3 times so far, and every time has been great. Their entire menu looks amazing, so I've been ordering something different each time I go. So far I've tried the fish tacos, carne asada tacos, carnitas tacos and chicken quesadilla. Those fish tacos? I'm pretty sure I dream about them (if I could remember my dreams after I wake up). Next up will be the true test - carne asada fries. Will they hold court with my faves from Lolita's in San Diego or will I finally find Oscars weakness? read more

I've ordered the vegetarian taco salad without beans on numerous occasions for take out and nine times out of ten they glob on the beans! I hate beans and it makes the salad almost inedible. My husband will ask them this is without beans before he leaves and they assure him that there's no beans. Only to get home and there's about a cup of beans. It's very disappointing. read more

Moved from So-Cal earlier in the year and although Mexican isn't my favorite, my husband has been desperate for a decent taco. Well, last night we found them! I don't like corn tortillas, so I always ask for flour - the server didn't bat an eyelid he put the request through no issues at all. He told me 2 tacos would be enough, I was skeptical, but yep, I was pretty full. Shrimp taco was fantastic, carne asada was great if a little spicy (as it should be). Hubby had the quesadilla which was really good as well. Only reason it gets 4 not 5 stars, is I am pretty fussy (OK, a snob!!) and when I go out for dinner I like to go to a nice restaurant - Oscar's is more fast food-ish - ie, you don't dress up and don't expect a glass of wine! But if you're just going for the food it is fantastic :-) read more

Was volunteering for a NFP company The Beat of Life and was asked to pick up lunch for the group. The very generous Oscars donated lunch for the cause and I got free taco's! One chicken and one fish. Both were very generous in size, 2 were plenty, and they were very fresh. A nice slaw on the fried fish, fresh pico and a ribbon of sour cream. No question I'd stop here again. Service was great, courteous and they threw in lots of salsa. I took one of the green, good spice level and tasty! read more

My co worker told me she was going to pick up mexican food and if I wanted anything. I LOVE mexican food but being from California am weary of trying any mexican food. Even if you go way north of California it starts tasting bland. I am kind of a snob when it comes to mexican food I suppose. I looked at the menu and it said it was "so cal" style I was more than ready to judge it. I was surprised when it really did remind me of something I could have gotten at any great mexican restaurant in California. Chips and Salsa are good as is anything with carne asada I have tried. This local taco shop makes the absolute best fish tacos I have ever had. In addition to other great menu items, the fish tacos are by far the freshest and tastiest especially considering we are land locked. The white "secret sauce" combined with the fresh cabbage slaw on top is delicious. I highly recommend them. read more

This has to be my favorite quick Mexican place. The staff is friendly and attentive and, considering everything is made to order, the service is prompt. I go to the Westhaven location quite frequently and have never had a bad meal or bad experience. The chicken burrito and the steak burritos are fantastic. Don't miss the chips and queso either. If you're in the area for breakfast, try the bacon, egg, and cheese burrito with hash browns. It's by far the best breakfast burrito you can find. Four outdoor tables are available. Can't go wrong with a trip to Oscars and it's a great value. Look in the Nashville City Saver (coupon book) for buy one get one free deals. read more

I am on vacation in Tennessee visiting from California. I was told this place was as good as any authentic, So-Cal and Central Valley Mexican cuisine including our taco trucks but I had to see for myself. This statement could not be more true. The food was fabulous and the tacos were fantastic! Authentic flavor and overall great quality food. The Food here is 4 stars.... The AIR CONDITIONING here really aspirates!! I rate this joint a (1) because it's too dang hot to enjoy the great food. I just got out of our air conditioned car & said wow is out hot in here...so I asked Amigo "can you turn up the AC please"? He replied its hotter outside! REALLY! I just moved to the neighborhood and I love this place. It's delicious and very affordable. Not paying extra for guacamole in my burrito is a huge plus. I have never been to another burrito place where they do not charge you extra for that. The meals are very filling and I suggest trying the grilled shrimp or pulled pork burrito! They are incredible! read more

My favorite go to is one of the strawberry margaritas with the fried shrimp and chicken tacos. You really can't go wrong with this little location! The veggies were cooked well and not raw like I've had at other restaurants. The corn tortillas tasted like they might be house made and fresh. I also appreciated the salsa bar. The restaurant itself was clean and well decorated. However, the women's bathroom had a bottle of soap that was 95% water and didn't leave my hands feeling very clean. The hand dryer was also unplugged and there were no hand towels. What really brings my review down is the service. The service was definitely subpar. Our waitress was also the bartender and paid more attention to the people at the bar than our table. She didn't check on us throughout our meal, and only refilled my water once when she brought our food out. When we were done, we didn't know if they'd bring a bill to us or if we were suppose to go to the front desk, as she never said anything to us. Every single staff in the restaurant was on their personal phones, leaving the restaurant to take personal calls, and fraternizing more than working. We also witnessed several food safety violations including our waitress sticking her hands in her pants in the back to tuck her shirt, and another waitress playing with her hair excessively, all without washing their hands before interacting with customers again. While good food, I don't know that I'll go back given the experience we had with the staff. I really question cleanliness when behaviors like that are happening in front of customers.

We tried one of each and were very pleased with the quality and portion of meat. We all voted the carnitas as the best! Also got an order of chips & salsa - was bummed on how little salsa there was! Only giving 4 stars bc it was a bit overpriced for what you get and for a place named Salsa - I wish there had been more of it on the tacos and with the chips and salsa.

When arriving, my wife and I were not even greeted right. The host/waiter (I guess?) was really quiet and just gave us a seat. When sitting down and deciding what to get we were doing fine, but the waiter that helped was very short with us. We decided to go with the 3 dip choice chips and the only dip that we liked was the cheese, everything else was very terribly seasoned. When we got our tacos, I can confidently say this food is not authentic, it's not even tasty. It really was a bit like Taco Bell with a premium price. There was too much sauce, the chicken itself was really badly seasoned, it tasted like bland boiled chicken. At the end our waiter was again rude. The music choice in the restaurant was also BORING. Just overall a truly bad experience. You're better off going to another restaurant. Over priced for a very bad experience.

After I left the park I decided to look for something to eat before going back to camp. I rode down Hobson Pike and pulled over at a corner market to check my phone to see what was available nearby. Unfortunately there weren't many places open nearby. Most of them said CLOSINGS SOON and seeing as it was about 10 minutes till nine I was guessing closing time was 9 PM. I finally decided to ride up Murfressboro Road and give Louie's tacos a try. It's just west of Mt View rd on Murfreesboro Pike. The Yelp listing said Louie's Tacos and Bar, so I thought it would be a lively atmosphere. I got there and went inside and there were a few people at the bar and some people on the patio eating. It wasn't as crowded as I thought it might be but then again it is Sunday night. I didn't know how to order so I walked towards the bartender and asked her. She looked at me like she didn't hear me so I asked again. She never gave me an answer, but I did notice that she was looking at me with thinly veiled contempt. I'm going to give her the benefit of doubt and assume she couldn't hear me. One of the gentlemen at the bar turned and told me that I need to go to the counter to order and then told me the specials. He was one of the staff. The girl at the register who took my order was super sweet and answered all the questions I had about the food. There were some things on there that I didn't know about. I ordered an enchilada plate with a order of Mexican street corn. I've always heard about it but I've never been able to try it and I was excited to see it on the menu i love corn almost any way it's prepared. I got my drink from the self service station and went outside to a table on the patio. It seem to me like the music was not as loud outside. It didn't take very long at all for the young lady to bring out my plate. The enchiladas looks really good too. I ordered two cheese and one chicken. The Mexican street corn was served as kernels in a cup with the sauce and cheese on top. Not what I was expecting. I thought it was supposed to be roasted on the cob. I looked it up on Google and a lot of the pictures and recipes showed both kernels and corn on the cob so that was all right. I do think I'd have preferred the cob. The enchiladas were very good and they were very generous with the lettuce, tomato and sour cream. I love sour cream so I was very happy to have more than enough for my plate My enchiladas came with a side of rice and beans. The beans were good, but I love refried beans just about any way. I didn't much like the rice but that's OK because I don't care for rice that much anyway. I rarely eat it. It might be just right for your taste. Nothing wrong with it. I'm just not a fan of rice. The atmosphere was casual and fun and the artwork on the walls was spectacular. The employees were quite welcoming and helpful. I'm pretty sure I will come back to Louie's Tacos when I'm in Nashville again.

We eat breakfast at Puckett's often. And this is one of those "if you know, you know" situations…read more I order a bowl of their grits and have them top it with two eggs over easy. That's it. No hacks, no substitutions, no overthinking it, just a quietly elite Southern breakfast move that feels like it deserves its own line on the menu. The foundation is what makes it work. The grits here are genuinely excellent, creamy, well-seasoned, and clearly made with intention. And it's not a small scoop either; the bowl is three side orders of grits. This is not a light breakfast situation. One practical note: they're thick enough that they show up without a spoon. Not a complaint, just a moment of "respect the density." Once you break the yolks, though, everything loosens up into that rich, cohesive, borderline dangerous comfort food zone. What stands out is how unbothered the kitchen is about it. It comes out clean, properly executed, no questions asked, as if this is just a completely normal, correct way to eat breakfast. Bottom line: simple, rooted in Southern tradition, and easily one of the best ways to experience Puckett's grits.

We thought the first time maybe it was a mistake but the next times we went the same thing - the pasta itself was so salty it ruined the whole dish. What is strange is that it seems to specifically be the pasta itself and only on red sauce dishes. We had the Sunday Sauce the first time through and the sauce/meats portion was actually terrific but the pasta was made as if no one had bothered to taste it. Mentioned this in a fb group aimed at local foodies and there was overwhelming agreement on this. People mentioned this was not an issue at their North Nashville location so decided to offer the feedback very politely via their feedback form for the Franklin location. No response. Hope they get that straightened out because the food was otherwise solid.
