Tried this place for the first time. Not a bad spot. The food has decent seasoning. It's different from west coast Mexican food for sure. Normally asada fries come with the cheese melted, so do not be surprised that Oscar's asada fries cheese is not melted. Nevertheless , the asada fries were good. Service was quick, the staff was friendly. The place was clean, so no worries there. Come try them out if your in the area, or if you are in you lunch break are near by. Good luck and enjoy,

Meh. These are not street tacos but more akin to what you get at Taco Bell or Taco John's. Standard ground meat, tons of lettuce, and that's it. I will say that I enjoyed their fish taco more as it came with a nice aioli and was a really big taco! Come on Tuesdays as they have a few tacos that are half off. The other major benefit is that many of their bottled beers are half off, meaning you can get beers for well under $2! That's really the only thing this place has going for it. Chips and salsa is fine, but salsa is too watery. Probably wouldn't come here again unless in the area on a Tuesday, and I would only get their fish tacos.

Amazing Food, location, and hospitality!!!! Everything everyone ordered said was Amazing delicious!!

Run to this taco shops right now! It's soo good and authentic! Being from Los Angeles, it has been hard to find a place that has authentic quick Mexican food. Oscar's has amazing flavor and many options! We both got any two taco combo plates that came with rice, beans, and a drink. We also bought a small cheese dip and chips. I can't wait to come back and try some of the other tacos. I got a classic shredded beef taco and a pastor taco. The pastor is my favorite so far. I could also have a meal of just rice and beans it was so good. Sorry the food picks aren't great. When the food came we dug in right away and then I took the pictures.

The short of it: Super affordable, super delicious tacos! The long of it: We had a day full of brewery hopping in store. This kind of thing generally, at least in my case, necessitates some sort of sustenance/food break at some point along the way. Our second stop didn't offer food and had no restaurants around them. So after our first stop at Southern Grist (just up and across the street), we had made the decision, after a Google and Yelp search, to get our taco tuesday on at Oscar's. They had decent reviews and were in walking distance of the brewery, so we wouldn't have to move the car at all in between. It sits in a small strip mall sort of set up, with ample parking, in the shadow of the silo in the Nations neighborhood with the huge mural of Lee Estes (I thought it was Jimmy Carter before looking it up). At first I was a little nervous that we had made a bad decision and were walking in to a crappy chain place. And though it is a chain, it is a regional/small-numbered chain. It isn't much to look at inside, but if the food is good enough, it doesn't matter. I also have heightened expectations when I walk in to a Mexican food restaurant and hear Spanish being spoken all around me, by employees and customers alike. I wanted to try so so many things! All day breakfast burritos? Tacos? Tostadas? Quesadilla? I want it all! But no. We were here for tacos! All of the tacos are under $3, which is just a pleasure in and of itself, compared to my favorite taco places in Louisville! I opted for the fish taco and the shrimp taco. I mean...I wanted more! But experience has taught me that two tacos is, in Goldilocks-style, just right. The shrimp was my favorite of the two, flavor-wise. It just made me wish, like I normally do, that there was more shrimp in the taco. But 3-4 per taco is a totally normal and expected amount. I just wanted more because they tasted good. The fish was also pretty good. The fish taco though was a biiiiit over-filled with pico de gallo. Waaaay too many tomatoes. I had to scrape about half of them off. But the tacos are a good size, an awesome price, and amply filled. Get yourself to Oscar's for your always necessary taco fix!

All Los Angeles taco fans should come to this place. The California burrito was great but be sure to order it without the french fries inside. The green sauce is to die for. The roll tacos are really taquitos and we're amazing.

I wouldn't write home to Mama about Oscar's. It is very Americanized Mexican food without a ton of substance; however, it does hit the spot when you just want to grab something quick. What I will say is if you come here expecting that, then you're good to go. I like what I order here and I come here often as a lunch option since it is close to my work. I really do just roll in and roll out and even forget to check-in when I come here. They're able to accommodate most palette types. They're also very generous with portions when it comes to getting what you pay for. You can pay as little as $5 for an entire meal to $10 for the hungriest person. Either way, they fit the budget and the hunger type. Sometimes that all I need when I am not trying to have a 'dining experience.' Come, grab, and go. That's my suggestion. If you do have time to spare, enjoy their patio since it is spacious and comfortable.

My fiancee and dad got the birria tacos they did a pretty good job. I got the skirt steak i believe and it was ok. Tender but not too flavorful. Tasted more just like beef. This was my second visit, as we frequent Nashville and surrounding areas. We made reservations near the stage, but that didn't matter because the manager/hostess will put you wherever there is an open spot. There were more than ten people at a round top that would normally seat 6-7. This makes it difficult for the wait staff to maneuver, forcing trays to pop above head level. I kept having to move out of the way, as I was on the end of what I'd refer to as a trough table...you know that long table beside the bar where they put people who don't have reservations...oh wait, we did have them. Didn't matter! But if you make it to a table and decide to partake in the all you can eat, two hour time limit, SET THAT TIMER! I CANNOT BELIEVE it has a 4.9 on Google!!! The food is really heat/serve tasting at best; although it really looks beautiful. I swear the Mahi Taco looked incredible and was almost totally tasteless, not to mention it was on the colder side after being tough from being overcooked. Does make me wonder how long it was sitting after being cooked. It was definitely not cooked to order, as it was literally just a few minutes after ordering that it arrived to the table. We went during Saturday brunch, as there is live music during this slot. The $35 per person/plus 20% gratuity that is added/plus sales tax brought the total for two to right at $90. There was no alcohol consumed, although they do have $25 bottomless mimosa/vodka bar. That is likely the draw of this establishment because it's definitely not the food. The only positive I can mention is the wait staff. They are like worker bees, constantly moving to earn that 20% gratuity...maybe add to that the fact it can accommodate parties (see website) but DEFINITELY the waitstaff works hard. The parking lots on either side are paid spots but I couldn't risk the car getting blocked it, banged up from lack of markings or the gravel incline. There is heavy construction in the area, so expect to pay $20 or more to insure your car isn't in jeopardy. A parking app actually gave the parking lot a 3 due to safety concerns and inability to park in the lot. Basically people park anywhere because it isn't marked at all. And last but definitely not least, those all you can consume spots are terribly loud. I'd blame my gut grenade stomach ache on the noise because I only fully ate one small vegan taco and the tiny mahi strip out of another. Live music or not, I'll pass and find something better.
