The live music performance was great - (shoutout to Patrick Sharrow!!) We visited on a Monday afternoon on Memorial Day, so I'm surprised how disappointing the service was. We ordered 2 fries and nachos. It took over half an hour for the nachos to come out, and the fries never came. I asked our server to check on them, and she seemed shocked, like "oh, i didn't know that's what you ordered". Then she said it's coming out soon... still took over 20 minutes after that, but only one order of fries came out, and they were very meh curly fries at that for $7. The margs for happy hour price were $7, which was a great price. I'd come here for the booze and music, not the food. read more

The food was ok. The margaritas were just ok. I went with a party of 5 and no one was really impressed with the food. It's not bad it's just ok. On a positive it's right off the strip and easy to get to. The lights on the street gives walking to the restaurant a nice atmosphere at night. So I was wondering downtown Nashville on a Sunday afternoon. The sounds of the music as I came by caught my ear. I came in. Was only half full or so at the time. So I ordered a Skinny Margarita. The ambiance, music and amazing marg got me to text my wife and mother in law to leave their conference and come hang out and drink. It ended up with lots of margaritas, several scorpion shots and meeting new people!. We had an amazing time here. We did get the loaded nachos to eat. They were really good! This place was okay for food but the drinks were awesome, specifically the coconut margarita. We stumbled upon this place because we were actually waiting for a reservation at a different place for breakfast food, so originally, we were only going to drink here and get an appetizer. We sat down and didn't have service for a while, but when we did, our waitress was nice and quick. I ordered the coconut margarita which was phenomenal. It had toasted coconut shavings on top and it has perfect blended consistency like a pina colada. The next drink I had was called La Playa, but I didn't care for it too much and wish I ordered another margarita. As for food, we ordered the chips, salsa, and guacamole, and these were so good. The guac was full of flavor and we loved that they include both red salsa and salsa verde with their appetizer. While waiting for our app, our other reservation contacted us, so we ended up just staying here for lunch, as well. I ordered a steak taco, ground beef taco, and a mahi-mahi taco, and quite honestly, I didn't love any of them. None of the meat had any flavor and the tortillas were eh (I like soft corn tortillas better). My steak was very fatty and bland, and the fish was hard and burnt that it tasted oddly like chicken to me. I had to have my husband try it, and he confirmed it was fish because he hates fish, but it still wasn't good. My husband ordered the bacon and egg burger and he enjoyed it. Funny thing is he mentioned the delicious bun being soft and good before ever mentioning the taste of the burger, though. The fries were delicious! Overall, I'd definitely try something else for food, or next time I would just stick to drinks and apps. read more

We stopped her on a quiet Monday afternoon for lunch. I LOVE Mexican food - and since I don't eat beef, I am a little hard to please. They did the job! We started with chips (house made), quac and salsa - OH MY GOD GOOOOOD! I had far too much of that though and only ordered one cauliflower taco - that was SO good! Wish I had room for more. The cocktails as expected were more ice than liquid, and the happy hour didn't really help to get a buzz going. The live acts were good. Neat that you can request a song whilst tipping the singers. Can't believe it took me so long to find this place. I think the people singing in the window made me think it was just a bar but oh no it's not! If you are craving some good Mexican this is a great choice! We come here to eat or take out as well, it's often crowded but if you can get a seat it's worth the wait. So far we haven't had anything that was not delish and if you like Margaritas they always have good specials on those too. The Machete might be my absolute favorite, it's loaded with melted cheese and chicken and you can never eat all of it so you have some great late night snacks with you home. This is one place that do a good job having music but not too loud. Many downtown Nashville bars play so loud you can't hear yourself think. We stopped in on a whim while walking by and hearing the live music, desperately needing a break from the Nashville heat. It was such a fun bar on a side street off Broadway that was much less crowded. We sat at the bar, had a cider and enjoyed the music. We walked in on a Monday and there were a couple of people at the bar, with maybe 3 other tables sat around the restaurant. The service was awesome, he took care of us even after we paid out. The taco salad that I ordered was pretty nasty. The meat was super greasy, the beans were cold and seemed like someone dumped a can of beans on my salad. The guacamole at Taco Bell tasted better than their's-and their ranch tasted like it was expired. They seemed to have a lot of cool, rare drinks (one had a rubber ducky and one even had a scorpion!). I came here for their Taco Tuesday which goes from open until 10pm. Specials include $2 and $3 tacos, $4 beer, $5 tequila, and $6 margaritas. I ordered the cheeseburger taco ($2), steak taco ($3), and bacon & shrimp taco ($3). The cheeseburger taco does taste like one but with French fries so it's like a mix between a cheeseburger and a surf n turf. I like the steak and the guac in the steak taco but the salsa/tomato overpowers everything else. You can't taste the meat because all you can taste is the tomatoes. The bacon and shrimp taco was definitely my favorite but you can't go wrong with anything that has bacon and shrimp in it. If you check in on Yelp you get a free taco with a purchase of a taco. However, note that on Tuesdays that check-in offer does not apply. Also, in the menu below the Taco Tuesday section it mentions tequila exchange but they do not do that anymore. They had some live music when I went which was nice. The singer was nice and it was very cozy and intimate since there weren't a lot of people. There was so much flavor, served in a large glass, totally worth the price (which was around $12 I think) and the bartender was awesome! This bar had a much more modern look to it compared to most the other ones we visited and was located around the corner from Broadway St, so not directly on the main stretch. A great place to go in central Nashville. Very close to Broadway, but with a very different vibe. The entertainment is intimate, usually one person with a guitar.
