Here is the thing about this restaurant: their menu and their food is amazing. I haven't been to the other location but this one was, food-wise, great. What's not so great? Location, building and parking situation. The good: the food. We had the botana el desmadre, the empanadas and a tostada de camarón. Excellent quality, great presentation and taste, very fresh all around. My husband loved his micheladas. We left completely satisfied, hence the 4 stars. We really do look forward to their food. Why not 5? The bad: the building is not the best in the looks department which honestly wouldn't even face me had it not been in the middle of the infamous July heat wave with no A/C or fans near our table. The seating style is cramped and the windows with the bars just sort of don't help. The parking is a hot mess and beware of the homeless folks that meander back there to that cargo/metal container and look through windows. This is also where someone was shot from the outside in, so not the safest place by any means. Parking in the front is just comedy and you'll be lucky to find some in the back. Also, since it was a hot weekend day, they struggled majorly with service. There was one lady at one point for the entire restaurant and she tried her hardest. She also asked us to tip in cash so she wouldn't have to share with the rest of the staff. Do with that what you will.

    Marlin Tacos, No Bueno...

I have been here a few times and gotten the fried tilapia, and it was pretty good. Tonight, I got the Marlin Tacos and they went right in the trash. This probably ended my wanting to visit this place again. I come from SoCal down by the Mexican border and have had all kinds of great fish tacos and Mexican seafood. Seems these Marlin Tacos are some sort of canned fish or something. The fish is chopped in pieces Just like it came out if a can and very off tasting. Not good...

Excellent food, and excellent service. Everything was fresh and the ambiance of the place is also great, they play Mexican music, and have sports playing on the screens, they also host live Mexican music.

Food was delicious, family friendly. Could be loud, has live mariachi and a bar, cool security guy securing the building.

was craving mariscos & i haven't actually found or gone to any places since i've moved to WA. i found this place that wasn't too far from me & decided to check it out. we ordered the agua chiles & tostadas de ceviche & my husband ordered the carne asada con camarones. everything was PERFECT & authentic. i was also super happy with their drinks! the service was excellent, very very happy with this place. will be coming back to try other tasty dishes!

Felt so out of place when I walked into this joint, all the Mexi's looked up at me & I think one was about to ask if I was lost.... Nah saw that they have great Ceviche & I came to the right place. A little sketchy but they were friendly the food is good. Everything is fresh Avo & shrimp delish. This is packed w shrimp, Octo's, scallops. Server she was nice as well. I want to come back & try more of their ceviche.

If you're looking for great fresh Mexican seafood this is your place ! I love the Green Aguachiles, their tripe tacos are great meat is crispy just how I like it. Their molcajete de mariscos is really good. Great micheladas they also have menudo on weekends sometimes. Service is good, waitress are really nice. They have the best 'limonadas' in town. I recommend this place

I couldn't remember the name of the place, but we found it: The Fish Peddler! We must have arrived at a perfect interval because there was a table for two that had just been bussed and ready for us near the large counter in the back where food was collected by servers and presented to hungry patrons at any of the 30-40 tables. Our server was genuinely warm and delightful and guided us to the menu and the on-line beer on tap information. Drinks were ordered and delivered in minutes - just enough time for us to announce our selections: A 3-piece halibut and chips for her, and for me, the albacore tuna with spring greens and gouda cheese on sourdough with a pint of I'm Not Afraid Of Music. It had the lowest alcohol content, and since I was driving, didn't want to push my luck. When our huge white dinner plates arrived - oh - did I mention the amazing jalapeño coleslaw? - we were amazed at the size of the perfectly deep fried halibut - which, on their own, provide a good bite, making only a smitten of tartar sauce necessary because you gotta have tartar sauce with fried fish, after all, right? I picked up one my sandwich haves and removed the toothpick with too much gusto and suffered a small splinter that I couldn't remove until I got home a couple of hours later with the help of a magnifying glass, a tweezer and some masking tape. But I ignored the splinter while I enjoyed my "this is NOT your mom's - or HER mom's - Tuna melt". The perfect balance of the albacore spread with the gouda showing up gloriously in almost every bite, the pillowy and cool greens and tomato slice that balanced the heat from the albacore between the two lightly toasted sourdough was my Valentine's Day gift to my mouth. We were stuffed, but not defeated - we ordered our cheesecake to go, and I get to have the last piece of halibut for a snack later on! It was great getting re-acquainted with This cozy, fun, busy restaurant since our last (and first) visit 3 years ago. My only regret is that for some unknown but surely inexcusable reason, I had waited three years before returning. Won't happen again.

This is a casual place, but the food is quality. We got the fish and chips, which were perfectly crispy. The black cod miso was superb. Very fresh and light and flaky and flavorful. This isn't fancy, but it's just a good seafood place for friends, business or families.

Secondly, Cassandra was absolutely superb!! We all thoroughly had an amazing experience, from the drinks, appetizers, to our entrees, and the service. The Lavender Martini was top notch, and we also ordered the White Mojito. That mojito was crisp and refreshing! Two spectacular cocktails. As for our meals, undeniably unbelievable!! Turns out it's the former, at least in atmosphere. The service was genuinely lovely from start to finish. The host, server, and table assistants were warm and attentive. No notes there. We went with the ribeye prix fixe, which felt like the obvious call given that Ms. Jane's has built its reputation around it. The menu included a salad, two ribeyes with mashed potatoes and broccoli, and dessert for $150 plus wine. The salad was beautiful and delicious. It just could've used some cheese, and I will die on that hill. The mashed potatoes were legitimately outstanding and nearly redeemed the entire evening on their own. The broccoli was fine. Broccoli is always just fine. Then there were the ribeyes. They were enormous, beautifully presented, and unfortunately not much else. Both cuts had an excessive amount of fat and lacked the depth of flavor you'd expect from a restaurant that's staked its identity on this one dish. We make better steaks at home, which is not something you want to be thinking about after dropping $150 before wine. Dessert closed things out on a high note. A chocolate and vanilla mousse topped with genuinely delicate whipped cream. In the moment we told ourselves we'd come back and try something else. A few days of reflection later, that enthusiasm cooled but it didn't disappear entirely. The service was too good, the mashed potatoes too memorable, and the mousse too solid to write the place off completely. Ms. Jane's clearly has something going on. We just hope the ribeye isn't the thing they're most proud of.

My first time at West 122 as I had been wanting to try this for months. Here's the positives... Love the brick and mortar ambiance inside. It just had an overall good community vibe. Presentation of food was beautiful. What else we experienced... My friend ordered a Sprite and I ordered a cocktail. She was served a lemonade and my drink was pretty sour so I ordered some simple syrup. The Sprite came but it took 20 minutes to get my simple syrup. By that time I was sort of over having a cocktail. Honestly, the venue was not full and all I wanted was some simple syrup in a shot glass. We ordered the burrata, caesar salad and the special with the octopus tentacles, asparagus, peppers and capers over polenta. The caesar salad on the menu lists "red gem lettuce tossed in house-made caesar dressing, topped with bread crumbs and shaved parmigiano reggiano. While I liked the idea of not having croutons as they're sometimes difficult to maneuver with a biteful of salad, there must have been a quarter cup of bread crumbs over the top, so much so that you couldn't even see what was underneath. Next, the menu describes the burrata as "creamy burrata with pea vines, roasted peas, pickled asparagus, and artichoke." When it arrived, we were truly wondering if we had ordered the right thing. Only until we moved the sea of greens did we see the burrata. Nowhere on the menu did it mention that we were actually ordering a salad with burrata underneath. Very unfortunate and misleading because my friend ordered the Caesar for dinner and didn't know she was actually getting a second salad. In addition, we ordered the baguette with butter/oil and what came to us for $11 or some rather non descript rolls. The octopus special was the star of the show. The colors, flavors, char on the octopus...everything except that it was surrounded by a fair amount of paprika oil, so much so that I had to work around it in order to not give my stomach a run for my money later in the evening. A dish I wanted to finish but just couldn't because of that issue. In addition to that, refills of water were non-existent and it took close to 50 minutes to get our dinner. Also, our waitperson was very pleasant but seemed rather overwhelmed. Even after waiting 15 minutes for the simple syrup, when she finally did bring it, she looked surprised that I no longer wanted it. Yes, she took it off the bill, but I would have much rather enjoyed one of the specialties of the house. So many mishaps that didn't need to occur. Truly disappointed that our evening went that way.

She took our drink menu before we had finished looking at it, and my friend had to get up and find her to ask for it back. Throughout the meal, it was difficult to get her attention. When our food arrived, I asked for the lemon I ordered because they forgot it which is not a big deal to me they usually forget my lemon when I visit. She quickly dropped it off and walked away before I could order drinks. We then had to ask a second time just to place our drink order. The bigger issue was the food. Both seafood boils were lacking flavor, and mine seemed unusually watery, as though excess water hadn't been drained before the seasoning and butter were added. Since two seafood boils cost well over $100, I politely asked if there was any way to add more seasoning. I was respectful and apologetic because I genuinely dislike complaining about food. Amanda interrupted me before I could finish explaining and told me they couldn't add seasoning, only provide a side of seasoned butter. That would have been fine, I simply wanted a solution, but being cut off and met with an eye roll felt extremely rude and unprofessional. She then suggested the watery consistency was caused by the extra corn I ordered. I order extra corn every time I visit and have never experienced this issue before. After that interaction, she largely avoided our table. When she eventually boxed our leftovers, she immediately dropped off the check and walked away again. Upon reviewing the bill, I noticed I had been charged for the side of seasoned butter that was provided as the solution to the flavor issue. When I asked about it, Amanda explained that I was charged because I had ordered an extra side of seasoned butter. However, I hadn't ordered it as an addition to my meal, it was offered as the fix for food that she herself acknowledged was watered down. When I expressed that I felt it was inappropriate to charge a customer for the remedy to a quality issue, she responded that she could ask a manager to remove the charge if I wanted. By that point, I was very frustrated that this was even a charge in the first place and offered to just pay and leave. She quickly walked away and just removed the charge without consulting the manager like she previously mentioned which I found to be odd. This is the first negative experience I've had here, which makes it especially disappointing. I've always loved this restaurant and have recommended it to many people over the years. Sadly, after today's food and service experience, I'll likely be looking elsewhere for future celebrations and gatherings with friends and family. I've included some photos of the many visits my friends and family have had here over the years for lunch, birthdays, anniversary celebrations, etc. Please work on your customer service.
