We got last minute 7pm dinner RSVP for two on the balcony patio rooftop terrace really the best seats in the house overlooking the Ponte Vecchio. Service was helpful and fast. Bossa nova music overhead but not very loud because we could hear birds chirping. Food was good and a little heavy on mushroom and truffles. Hare Ragu on polenta was tasty. Wild boar Ragu was good. Osso bucco was strong on the tomatoe sauce, almost a ratatouille sauce a little stronger than my liking. Elevator is tiniest one ever so take the stairs to the 5th floor if helpful. We stayed the the Hotel Hermitage and arrived late. Too tired to search for food we headed up to the Osteria delle Tre Panche. They got us a table and we loved our first meal in Florence. We started with the beans with bottarga - salty, rich, umami flavor. Simple dish but a great appetizer. We also had two variations of boar - one over pasta and one in a stew. It was delicious and the waiter told us the boar was local and the owner is an avid hunter. We also had other pastas which were well prepared and simple. Too tired for more food from our long journey, most of our group went to sleep. The two of us stayed for a while and drank some Wine on the little outdoor area. Unfortunately this restaurant fell short on our trip to Florence this past Spring. Nervous it had become overtaken with tourists, I was correct. While it does have a rooftop with gorgeous views of the Ponte Vecchio, seemingly every dish was far overpriced and finished with sauce and mediocre truffle shavings. Our favorite dish was surprisingly the curry and vodka pasta, but overall I would not recommend when visiting the city. read more

They "fit me in" by putting me in a room off to the side with nobody in it. I was travelling solo so not the best vibe. Then they convinced me to try the more expensive winter truffle pasta (over the summer truffles), saying that the truffle tasted stronger...they had zero flavor and the cream was just heavy, with VERY little truffle flavor. Was going to send it back but I was left alone with nobody checking on my for over 5 mins so I decided just to eat it instead of letting it get cold. Ordered the filet next, asked specifically for medium, and it came out rare. Took over 5 mins for someone to check on me again. I told them to just take it off and for the check. Highly overrated and horrible service (I've worked in fine dining). If they weren't able to provide proper service I would have rather them turned me away. And then instead of being seated on the terrace (which had plenty of open seating) we were ushered into a hot nondescript and small back room with tables squeezed together. The service was very inattentive and the food was mediocre eat best, with a menu lacking in creativity and seemed like a canned list of choices. The worst part was that we were scammed on our bill with 4 items priced higher tha. The menu and the addition of an item we didn't even order. Heavy on cheese-- tastes more like American bad Italian food than actual Italian food. Enjoy the ants coming up to you while dining listening to Jazz music-- since you know, Florence is the home to Jazz ; Food is passable but not the best around unless you love your pasta swimming in cheese and raw-- NOT al dente--- but raw and crunchy. Not sure why they have such large wine glasses when they give you the small amount. They probably knew we were unhappy and didn't care because they offered the bill and not even a mention to order dessert. You are paying for the rooftop experience. This place is on the rooftop of a hotel. I actually would have missed it if my friend had not been there to meet me and guide me, as there are not signs out by the street to guide you. Also, Google and Apple Maps disagree on where the place is located as well. We made a "reservation" for 12:00, exactly when they open. I will add this as a tip too, but it offers the option of e-mailing for a reservation. However, when we got there a woman informed us they take reservation by call only. Noon is pretty early for lunchtime standards there, so we did not have a problem and actually had the place to ourselves right up until the end of our meal. We split the octopus with potato salad as a starter. My friend got the beef tartare and I got ravioli with truffle. Everything was ok. Honestly, not the best I had on my trip, but not the worst either. It was one of the most expensive meals though in comparison. You definitely pay mostly for the view and the ambiance. I was here in May so there were trellises with vines and beautiful flowers everywhere to frame the beautiful view on a sunny day. We definitely picked a good day for lunch there. If you are looking for a meal in Florence that's off the tourist trail (and has amazing food) look no further. This no frills, tiny spot is about a 20 minute taxi ride out of the historic city center consists of literally three benches you share with other diners (part of which makes for such a unique dining experience.) Because it's so small you absolutely MUST make reservations in advance or else you're not getting in. When we left there was a line to get in the door. The small space means that that the staff are a bit more attentive than you may be used to when dining in Italy. I heard this place had amazing truffle dishes so that's what we opted for first and the reviews don't lie! They have a whole section of their menu that's reserved solely for truffle dishes. From that selection we had the chicken breast with truffle and the cheese ravioli with truffle. YALL. I'm writing this review a few months after my visit and just thinking about these two dishes has my mouth watering. They may not look like much but daaaaaaaaammmmmn. They were some of the best things I've ever had in my mouth. If I have to pick my last meal on earth that ravioli and that chicken will be among my requests. Our one mistake we made was deviating from the truffle menu and ordering their beef with red wine dish from their regular second course menu....unlike the truffle dishes it wasn't that good. We didn't even finish it. That's why I've knocked off the fifth star. The next time I visit this spot (and yes you better believe there will be a next time) I intend to try as many items from the truffle menu as my stomach will allow. read more

This restaurant is running a scam. They made me pay for food that was inedible and did nothing to make it right. The owner attempted to overcharge me for black truffle which I did not request. They threatened to call the POLICE if I didn't pay for two entrees that were inedible and did nothing to rectify the situation. As I was in a foreign country I did not wish to take a chance. Never in my life have I experienced such disgusting and corrupt behavior from a restaurant owner and hotel manager. BEWARE! It may not look like much, but it was the best chicken dish I've had in my life; hands down. The other dish we tried was the rigatoni with spicy sauce and parmigiana. The sauce was so rich and creamy, unreal, and the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. The restaurant is very tiny and intimate, located about a 10 minute walk north of the city center. My husband & I started our Italy vacation with our first dinner of our trip here & it was AWFUL! A terrible way to start our vacation! Let me first note that in all my 523 reviews on TrpAdv, 95% are 5 stars and none below 4 stars. Also, I used to work in the restaurant industry years ago so I am very patient, have never sent a dish back, have never complained, nor walked out of a dining experience not satisfied... until now. I arrived on time for our 9:30pm rez and told the waiter who seated me and waited on us that my husband was going to be 15 mins late but that I can order for the both of us to not hold up the kitchen which he seemed fine with. A waitress came to the table to ask for a drink order and I promptly ordered a martini which took 20 mins, meanwhile my husband had already arrived and we still weren't able to give our dinner order. Finally at 10pm with flagging down a staff member to ask if we can have our waiter to order did the waiter come. We ordered 2 starters, a pasta course, and 2 main dishes (one being the 55 euro steak Florentine, the most expensive thing on the menu), plus a side of sauteed spinach which he recommended to come with the steak since it didn't come with any sides. He also suggested how the dishes should come out and in what order and said "this is how we do it in Italy". Also note that his English was impeccable. In the meantime, I noticed all other tables had bread and since it took another 1/2 hour for the food to come was I again finally able to flag another waiter to ask for bread. At about 10:30pm, 2 waiters came out with all 6 dishes at the same time which on a small 2 top was impossible. We told them that it was a mistake and not possible for us to eat 6 dishes at the same time and we asked to send the main courses back & kept the starters and pasta. The waiter came & did apologize and said "sorry for my misunderstanding". Not sure how that is possible since we were all very clear during the order taking. You also wouldn't set up your menu with the separate courses and just serve every dish all at once. At that point I felt rushed to eat the 3 dishes and was thinking that our mains were just sitting under a heat lamp. When our mains did arrive, our 55 euro steak was not cold but it was not warm. It was also so gristle that we couldn't even eat 1/3 of it. We left VERY unsatisfied that for the first time EVER we didn't leave a tip! Yes, it's small, but who cares? We had our own corner. The server comes to let you smell their fresh white truffles before you order--intoxicating! They serve the traditional Florentine bread, and their wine menu is lovely. We are vegetarian, so we had their truffle ravioli and their spicy red sauce pasta. Each was some of the best pasta we've eaten in Italy. The tiramisu and cheesecake we shared after our meal were some of the best desserts we've had in Italy. This place is a must! read more

Guests sit one next to each other, I quite like it that way as it's how it used to be in the past here in Italy. The food is nice, wine selection is well thought. If you are into truffles this is a place to go in Florence, they even have a separate menu for this. As a local I liked it, but it was too much on the expensive side for an informal place, I struggled to find spots of excellence apart from the aforementioned truffles. It was our most expensive meal, but even so, it was still reasonable and the price wasn't bad for the amount of food, wine, and truffles we had!
