Recently went to this restaurant for the first time. It was delicious. What really stuck out was our server Tim whose work ethic was astounding. Tim kept our table, tidy and constantly checked up on us, ensuring that we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. Tim also did not laugh nor make any comments at us when we had tried to pronounce the names of the dishes. Tim is someone you would want in any restaurant, he's an efficient and polite. I was with some friends in Ashland for a bachelorette outing this spring, and the restaurant where we had planned on eating dinner ended up having an event going on and we were unable to go there. We ended up just wandering around the area looking for an alternative and stumbled upon Osteria La Briccola; I'm always down for Italian, and it looked like there were some good options for the members of our group who were gluten free. There were 7 of us though, and we were told it would be about a 50-minute wait for a table. It was getting kind of late to be looking for somewhere else to go, so we were like okay, we'll just sit and wait. As we were walking away, the general manager Daniel rushed out and said if we could give him 15 minutes, he could have us set up in the private dining room. We didn't even know such a thing existed, but we said okay, cool. Reader, it could not have possibly been a better experience. We waited a bit (less than 15 minutes, even) and walked into this private space to find a large family-style dining table all set up for us, with candlelight and music and the whole bit. Our server Patrick was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the menu, able to answer all our questions, and had a great sense of humor. Everyone ordered something different and ended up trying bites of each other's food, and it was all delicious. Several of us even ordered dessert; I don't normally, but the salted caramel gelato sounded too good to pass up (and it was well worth it). Our visit was good from start to end - table was ready for our reservation, and we were greeted warmly by everyone. Carpaccio to start - excellently prepared. The main dishes were very well balanced and tasty - penne pomodoro, squid-ink linguine w/ shrimp, and the tagliatelle w/ wild boar ragu. Wonderful location on Ashland creek with great patio dining! My husband loved the lasagna; I had an appetizer that I am not seeing on their online menu: Italian tuna (canned in oil), gorgeous tomatoes, burrata olive oil and basi. I came solo and got a seat at the small bar on a busy Saturday night. The bartender was outstanding and attentive while orchestrating the drink orders. The vibe was casual but upscale. excellent dinner, we made reservations and it was needed dunce they were very busy. Carpaccio was absolutely beautifully tender and scrumptious. Bianche e nere was excellent: squid ink and regular white linguini with shrimp and porcini mushrooms cooked to perfection in a white creamy sauce with some pancetta as well. Very tasty! as dessert we had a caramel flan with amaretto and whipped cream on the side... super delicious as well!! service was great. Parking in downtown is challenging but we found a street spot not too far away. Wonderful pastas, and great wines! This is the 2nd year we tried this place. The staff are still very attentive and friendly, and the pastas and salads are as wonderful as we remember from last year. If you have a performance to catch, make sure you make a reservation, as the word has gone out, and the place is packed. read more

I wanted to celebrate my wife's birthday and we're really in the mood for great Italian food... We found the perfect place! The restaurant was really popular and we didn't get seated till 815 which was fine because we got a nice seating location around the bay window. They have a terrific menu, but we settled for the Bucatini and Pappardelle... both outstanding and a bottle of wine! The service was great, but I only have one small criticism... I told the owner in advance that we were celebrating my wife's birthday and I thought maybe... Just maybe... They would treat her to wonderful gelato. I guess it's a thing now that even though you spend three figures on a dinner... You aren't treated to a birthday dessert like the old days. We went with our brother and sister-in-law before a play while in Ashland. Definitely make reservations! We were greeted and seated right on time. My wife and I split the Insalata Tricolore con Gorgonzola. It was excellent! We also split the Pappardelle Agnello e Pistacchi (lamb) and loved it. Our guests also split the Gorgonzola salad but ordered the Bucatini al Ragu di Salsiccia (pork). They liked it, but it was a bit plain. I tasted it and agreed. Our lamb had better flavor, in my opinion. Both dishes, however, were very good. Our server, Gina, was very helpful with the wine, our selections and service. The restaurant's kitchen is on the main floor and dining on the second floor. This requires the servers to walk up and down a flight of stairs multiple times in an evening. Quite the workout. We recommend and will likely go back next time we're in town. read more

Third visit to our favorite restaurant in Ashland. All of their noodles are made from scratch and delicious. I had the gnocchi with melted gorgonzola, which I have ordered twice and always enjoy. My wife got spaghetti with shrimp and scallops (held the clams). Desert was the flourless chocolate cake for desert. Everything was delicious and service was attentive and quick. I'm still frequenting Osteria La Briccola with no plans of stopping. You must order my favorite dish: Linguine Nere Con Salame Calabrese E Gamberi. It's the pasta dish to end all pasta dishes. Squid ink pasta, shrimp, and sausage mixed in a gorgeous buttery sauce. The freshness and brininess of the sea collide so beautifully with the heartiness of the sausage. This is our go-to restaurant in Ashland. We have eaten here upwards of 15 times and it's always exceptional. The food, service, mocktails, wine, ambiance. All exceptional! Dinner was absolutely fantastic. The perfect place to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary. Daniel and his team knocked it out of the park. All the food was extremely delicious and the drinks were perfect. I would highly recommend anybody even passing through Ashland to stop by this place if they can. My big irritation with restaurants these days is that they don't really create a welcoming environment or vibe. But, La Briccola is different. We went to a play at the Shakespeare Festival and made reservations to eat at the Osteria La Bricolla after on the recommendation of a local friend. Three of us went and we all said WOW. Service was excellent and the food was just plain amazing. We ordered four items for the three of us. My wife had the Lazagna and our friend had the special which was Short Rib Ravioli and I had the Bucatini Al Raga Di Salsiccia Di Maiale. As an extra to share we ordered the Gnocchi Di Patate. The Gnocchi was light and fluffy little joyful bites of amazing flavor. All the other dishes were just the best. If you are in Ashland and if you like Italian food you have to go the Osteria La Bricolla as it is great. We were exploring downtown Ashland and followed the signs upstairs to this hidden restaurant. It was just opening and we were seated without a reservation. To say that the cuisine served was delicious is a serious understatement. Every dish was spectacular with freshly made pasta that delighted the tastebuds. My highlight was the exquisite Lamb Ragu that surpassed all my other visits to italian restaurants. The servers were, classy, attentive and efficient to every guest. The carpaccio di manzo tartufo was devine! Also got their seasonal shaved artichoke salad. We ordered the Papparedelle agnello pistassho and gnocchi with pesto. Everything was delicious. Gnocchi was the softest pillowy gnocchi I ever had. Desserts was also yummy. Ordered the creme catamel all'amaretto and the chocolate tortino. 1000% recommend.
