Beautiful location with great service! Lindsey was so nice and easy to talk to. She helped us find the best dish suited to our tastes. The restaurant was clean from top to bottom and the food was amazing!!!!

First time here and it was fabulous! My pizza was unexpected delicious! Decided to go out of the box with a clam and bacon white pizza and it was so yummy! Crust had a nice thin crunch to it. Bacon was crisp! The added pepper flakes were a nice touch! And last but certainly not least.... That tiramisu was the best I've ever had! It is topped with chocolate covered espresso beans and it was the perfect touch considering Thomas my FAV chocolates! The soaked lady fingers and crème were soooo smooth it melts like butter in your mouth! I hope to come back and try some pasta! I tried my fiancée risotto and it was some of the BEST risotto! It has a red base, but it paired perfectly with the chicken! 10/10! Service was great and well educated in menu with wine pairings! Very nice and modern styled restaurant. Love the over fire pizza oven that can be seen from the seating area!

I was looking for somewhere new to eat. It had to be close to the Parkway, I had an appointment on Whitesburg, but, it couldn't be downtown - my BFF can't walk distances. I hate to admit that I don't get out much at home - I guess I eat out enough while on the road. I didn't have a clue where to even begin so I looked for recommendations through my ever faithful Yelp. That's how I found Osteria LuCa On the outside corner of Stovehouse, parking was plentiful. However, it really wasn't clear where the entrance to the restaurant was. It was in the middle of the building, but hidden by a tall row of hedges. The entrance to the sidewalk was on either end of the building. It was a bit of a walk (which I was trying to avoid) and even further of a walk if you didn't realize what you were looking for. I heard several people say the same thing. I don't know what the solution is but maybe a sign along the hedgerow? My friend and I arrived at the same time and were seated immediately at a small table for two. I emphasize "small". There wouldn't have been enough room for a shared pizza, an app, our drinks and our plates. If we each had ordered a pizza, we would have been eating on our laps. Regardless, after trying the first bite of our food, all criticism took a back seat. We started with the Siano burrata . Creamy cheese, served with sundried tomatoes, basil and the clincher - prosciutto. Superb. We then shared the wood fired wild mushroom and caramelized onion pizza. Once again, an excellent choice. Chewy, yet a little crisp, the crust was topped with plenty of mushrooms and perfectly melted cheese. We couldn't finish the pizza but I did manage to finish the burrata. My friend ordered the brownie sundae, with two spoons. Vanilla ice cream, warm brownies and whipped cream was too big just for the two of us. I don't know if those words have ever crossed my lips! In addition to the dinner menu, there were several lunch specials offered including a personal sized pizza. The drink menu offered a nice selection of specialty cocktails which I will definitely try on my next visit. Stove house offers a wide range of food and specialty shops. Osteria LuCa is definitely at the top of this list.

First experience. I decided to surprise my friend here for dinner for her birthday. I questioned this decision several times as I am to settle on Italian cuisine dining. The location and building were nice. Interior is airy and spacious. However, the seatings are really close to the next diner's table. There is an enclosed patio available as well. Our server was really nice, but the service was slow. We ordered the Lemoncelli Martini, Potato Gnocchi & Crispy Prosciutto, and a ceasar salad for starters. Complimentary bread is not served here, but the food would've been great with it. There was a really long wait on receiving our Martinis. We'd almost finished our starters before our waiter realized that we still didn't have our drinks. She was very apologetic and spoke with her manager, who comp our appetizer. I ordered the Chicken & Wild Mushroom Fettucine, and my friend had the Eggplant Parmigiana with spaghetti as our main. Both tasted good. I would've enjoyed the Eggplant Parmigiana more if it had a crisper coating/crust. We both agreed that the texture was a bit too soft, but it had a good taste. No complaints on the Fettucine.

I'm not sure how I felt about it overall. My husband didn't have a great experience - he had the calamari and the mushroom and chicken fettuccine with a beer. I had a salad and the garden pizza with limoncello lemon drop martinis (2). I really enjoyed my food. The martinis were exceptionally well made. We were sat outside on the patio which was a bit warm and had quite a few kids which was fine, just a different ambiance. Service was okay - a little slow, but it didn't seem to impact how quickly the food was delivered. Would go for maybe a drink at the bar to hang out!

My first time here and it was great. They have a really good cocktail menu. Mine was amazing! We got mussels as an app and I got the rigatoni as my entree. The service was very fast. There's a dining side and a bar side with tvs. The ambiance is so nice I don't think you'd have a bad dinner on whatever side you chose. Looking forward to coming here again.

Where do I start! Love the atmosphere, staff is so friendly from the time you walk in til you walk out. Food was so full of flavor. Tyler was super helpful. Prices are high but they really do serve well and the food will not disappoint you, nor will your cocktail.

    Calamari. The best!
    Kathy L.

We stopped by to try this restaurant out located at Stovehouse. I rarely go to Stovehouse because there's a lot of people, cars, and waiting. Reservations are recommended. I was lucky I was able to sit at 2:00. The restaurant was not crowded. My order consisted of calamari, full chopped salad, bacon and clam pizza, spaghetti and meatballs and Tecla Benazolli Rose. The vibe and feel of this restaurant is levels above the "go to" Italian chain restaurant on University Drive. The calamari came out, perfectly fried and seasoned. The rings and tentacles were tender and when dipped in the marinara, the breading did not peel off. 5/5 The full chopped salad was good. I asked for fresh onions to be added. They weren't on my salad and I asked my waiter to get some. 4/5 Spaghetti and meatballs were delicious. The pasta was overcooked to me as I prefer al dente. The sauce was delicious and the meatballs were good. My plate looked funny to me as there were two meatballs. I am used to seeing odd numbered meatballs on pasta for presentation. OG has a special where they serve a tennis ball size meatball, quantity of one. Other places serve three meatballs. Seeing two was a surprise. 4/5 The bacon and clam pizza was good. The first pizza that came to the table was burnt, and when I showed it to the waiter, he agreed that it was burnt and asked that another pizza be sent to the table. Truthfully, there weren't enough clams on there to get a clam taste. It looked more like a bacon pizza and tasted only of bacon. I would not recommend this pizza if you are truly looking for the clam experience. 3/5 The rose was good. 5/5 Overall score is 4/5. They cooked another pizza since the first one was burnt. The soft noodles caused the star drop. Italian restaurants know not to overcook the pasta. Our waiter was great and helpful. We enjoyed our meal and will go back again. My favorite item was the calamari. The calamari was excellent! If you enjoy Italian food, you will enjoy the food here. I did see people wearing jeans too. Please give them a try.

    Spaghetti Nerano

I loved the food. Having spent a lot of time on The Hill in St Louis, I like real Italian food. This isn't meat and pasta othered in a so so tomato sauce. I had the cavatelli with lamb sausage and rabe. It was to die for. Amazing flavors with perfectly cooked cavatelli. My wife went with the spaghetti nerano. Grilled chicken with pasta and zucchini in a perfect pesto sauce. Both were perfection. The service was pretty good since we were between lunch and dinner. The ambiance is truly special. I really love the feel of the place, but I'll let the pictures do the talking. One black mark was no bread or lunch salad with the meal. I kind of felt that was a bit of a slight for the price, and something I'd change if I was them. Low cost, but big impact.

Beautiful and clean restaurant and nice atmosphere. Unfortunately the food was not good. We had ordered spaghetti and meatball.. very bland even for my 11 year old. Tomato soup had a weird taste and tang that no one at the table would eat after one bite. I had Hot Honey Meatball pizza that had decent flavor but was missing honey and middle of the pizza was soggy. We were truthful when asked about the meal but an apology and being told we were the first ever to complain about the taste of soup. That being said we as a family would recommend you try Amerigo instead.

The cocktails weren't great. Maybe the bartender's a bit heavy-handed, but the Tiramisu Espresso Martini just tasted like straight-up coffee liqueur. The waitress was nice enough to switch my drink for a sweeter one, but that one still came through as mostly just alcohol with no real flavor to balance it out. The food, on the other hand, was pretty good. The Gulf shrimp dish was the standout--unique and delicious. The fried calamari came with marinara sauce, which was a bit of a surprise. I would've preferred cocktail sauce. The tiramisu was fine, but again, a little too boozy and too moist for my taste. However, I think others might really enjoy it. Overall, it's worth trying for the food and service, but maybe skip the cocktails and go for a wine instead.

The fettuccine alfredo with wild mushrooms was excellent, and our waiter, Christian, did a fantastic job!

Eggplant Parmesan with overcooked, cold spaghetti.

Overpriced & Under-spiced. My husband and I had a long-awaited wedding anniversary dinner at Osteria LuCa last night, and it was such a disappointment. Let's start with the good: * Our server was friendly and attentive. We really liked him and tipped him well, in spite of the food. * Our Wild Mushroom and Caramelized Onion pizza was THE BOMB! It helped, I think, that it's a white pizza. I would hesitate to order anything in this restaurant with a red sauce. * Our appetizer, the Zucchini Fritto, had a delicious breading and we enjoyed the... ahem.... 8 matchstick sized-pieces we got for $15. I could make a meal out of it, but that would cost about $45.... for fried zucchini. Pro Tip: don't dip it in the Pomodoro sauce. YUCK. * We shared the toffee cheesecake for dessert. It was adequate, but we still enjoyed it. Wouldn't order it again though. And now, the downsides: *The Pomodoro sauce with the zucchini fritto and on our Eggplant Parmesan/Spaghetti combo was just awful. It tasted like mashed, cooked Roma tomatoes with a little garlic thrown in. No oregano, thyme, or any other spice. We asked for red pepper and never got any. * The eggplant was piled on the plate, and, if there was any breading at all, it was hard to tell. Usually, there's a nice crunch to it. And it was covered in the afore-mentioned awful-tasting red sauce. * The spaghetti was over-cooked, gummy, and COLD! And topped with the tasteless red sauce. It's supposedly made in-house; how come they can't cook it properly? It's clear that the restaurant is going for a cool vibe and - on paper - the menu looks delicious. Maybe the meat/fish entrees are better prepared and the veggie options are just an afterthought. For the price of the appetizers and entrees: $15 for zucchini, $19 pizza, and $25 eggplant, with no bread offered and the awful, tasteless red sauce.... there's just little value here. Honestly, I've had better meals at Olive Garden - where at least you get bread for free. (NOTE: I try to avoid Olive Garden, but my elderly mother LOVES it, and you do what you gotta do sometimes).

Terranova (in Madison) and Bravo both went to the upper room. Amerigo's, Luigi's, Osteria Luca, Mangia, Mazzara's, Nick's, and SaZa, remain. Oh there's also Nonna's and Zanotta's too... But I've not been to either yet. And then there's Terra. It's next to Newks and CiCi's pizza (which might as well be immortal) and for the life of me o can't remember what was in the space. No matter. Why? Because it's a potential strip mall gem. I just ran across one of these in the Orlando area a few months back. So we pulled up for Father's Day with a last minute reservation because, well, father's day isn't mother's day... But I REFUSED to grill. Nevertheless my little ladies made and ran the play and all I had to be was chauffeur. The staff was welcoming from the jump and didn't seem to notice how thin the crowd was. I didn't mind either, tbh... I like to find sleepers. The menu is... Fairly extensive. Apps come with the American Italian classics like bruschetta, fried calamari and fried mushrooms, and mussels but there's also crudo (yellow fin), clam casino, carpaccio, and polpette tre carni. Crab and avocado toast is what we tried in addition to the calamari and both were good. There's a gazpacho with shrimp ceviche the raised an eyebrow --maybe a little Spanish influence in the kitchen? I'll try it next time. There's a few pizzas as well from the classic margherita to prosciutto to a focosa and a scarpariello...so kids and kin For pastas, again, there's a lot. Their classic Carbonara is really good and I'll come back to see what the gnocchi, the bolognese and the linguine alle vongole The seafood risotto adds slivers of asparagus but it rivals some of the best in town. There's maybe 1 spot that tops it. Maybe. The menu features flounder, cod, and salmon along with some clucks and moos as well. I like the French lentils and rice as well. Again, an unexpected but appreciated Desserts include a homemade tiramisu, cheesecake, cannoli (pretty good) and Gelato. Food: 4.25/5.00 - I'm always coming for seafood pasta or risotto on the first run. T Atmosphere: 3.75/5.00 - It's strip mall chic. But clean. Service: 4.00/5.00 new but solid and friendly. X-factor: 4.25/5.00 access and surprise quality go hard here. Overall: 4.1/5.0 by the numbers but... There's a big surprise and solid factor that bumps this enough for me to round to 5 stars . The lettuce was fresh and cold, the croutons were ok, but the dressing was too maynaisey for me. If they used anchovies, I couldn't tell. I like the Cesar salad at Stoney River better. The Chicken Picatta was served with Linguini right out the box. I mean if you are going to tout your homemade pasta then serve it with the dish. The chicken was cut very thin and I would have liked a little more lemon flavor with the sauce as it was very slight. Service - Was very good and the wait staff very attentive. No complaints here. Ambiance - The atmosphere was mixed. It has a nice look inside with traditional Italian tables and flat wear. There was a bar with televisions on that the open floor plan made it seem out of place and was a distraction to the dining experience. The biggest draw back was the music. Very loud such that you had to talk over it, which made the whole resteraunt loud when filled. Two entrees and two glasses of average wine plus the medium Cesar salad and tip came to $114.
