Wow wow! Why have I not been in here earlier. We came on a Sunday around 2 pm and there was only one other group of patrons. When the construction out front is over I really hope this place thrives because is was amazing. You can tell everything is hand made, fresh, and authentic. Right when you walk in to your left there's a bakery counter with delicious goodies from cherry pie to brown butter cookies and a variety of fresh baked breads to take! Yum. You order at the front and take your number to your seat. The bar area is huge and lovely open area - we ordered the pear Bellini (seasonal). Our waitress suggested :) They make all syrups in house - wonderful bubbly drink! I love a seasonal rotating menu with new surprises each time you come. We ordered the Tuscan panini comes w a side my husband chose the mushroom soup. Wonderful! The flavors were spot on, served on a lovely focaccia bread, you could add a protein to the sandwich, the basil pesto was amazing! I ordered the Chick & Tin - homemade pickles, honey mustard, and fried chicken. So so good. I got the simple salad as a side, idk what dressing is on this but is was delicious- and the pickled onions in the salad were wonderful. Good food, rough service, and a room with real bones. Brick & Tin sits in the century-old former Lewter Hardware building downtown, and the space alone rewards a look, all exposed brick and history from its hardware-store days. The farm-to-table cooking backed it up. The Sesame Chicken Bowl actually recruited me by scent, it drifted past our table on its way to someone else and I could not order anything else, and it delivered. My wife's Key Circle hot ham and cheese with added pickles won the table outright, she called it a fantastic sandwich. Where it stumbled was service, and by a wide margin. We sat at the bar and went overlooked for a while until a genuinely kind young woman stepped in to help. The rest of the crew swung between friendly-but-lost and not especially warm, and the fellow at the bakery counter meant well but had no idea how to help us. It reads like a new place still finding its feet, which is fair, but it made the meal harder than the food deserved. Three stars, and the kitchen earned better than the floor gave it. Worth a stop if you are downtown and patient, though it did not win a return trip from us. read more

Great place to stop for an early lunch or light dinner and drinks. Went with the tuscan panini and okra as a side. The panini was really good. It was focaccia bread that was soft instead of thin and toasty like you would normally see. The bread was seasoned great and had enuf olive oil to really add to the flavor. The tuscan was portobello mushrooms, tomatoes and provolone cheese. Great combination. The fried okra was excellent as well. The cornmeal breading was a great touch and added texture to a nice fry. Truly top notch food. I ordered the fried chicken sandwhich and they delivered a sandwhich that was seasoned incredibly well throughout the ingredients. The chicken tasted brined making it tender and flavorful, the crispy fried dredge was seasoned as well, they bake their bread in house so the bun was delicious, and the flavorful pickles and honey mustard toppings were awesome without it ever reaching a level of "oh my God this is overloaded and falling apart". My wife had the turkey club and tomato soup. Both were just has delicious as my meal. The interior was beautiful and seemed like a space that would comfortably hold a variety of events. Outside porch area was cute. They also had a full bar. We can't wait till we go back. I'm sure anything we try will be as delicious as this one. read more

Turkey Club Sandwich was tasty enough, though not what I would consider a panini. Service was fair, ordered in the front, brought food and drink to table, never a refill. Felt $20 was above what I got, sandwich, chips, and drink. All in all an average grade for an average place. read more

I was disappointed in this place. The food was marginal. It is VERY loud. Seating is close, so it's hard to talk without the next table hearing your conversation. Had the pleasure of having lunch here today. I ordered the Bluebird salad. I must say, it was one of the best salads I have had. The mixed greens were fresh. And crunchy. The avocado was perfectly ripe. The fried chicken was lightly battered, crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The Champaign Vinaigrette was spot on. I ordered my blue cheese dressing on the side. I ended up just dipping a few bites when I wanted another flavor. I had a glass of Rose' and water with my meal. The water was tasty. I am picky about my water. The rose' was not too sweet. It was crisp and fruity. The service was nice, professional and attentive. The establishment was tastefully decorated, airy natural ambiance and clean. There is a nice patio area that has fans to cool for outdoor dining. I was in Huntsville and offered to bring dinner home. My daughter loves the Brick & Tin in both Birmingham and Huntsville so she asked if I swing by there & grab dinner. The Toast Tab online ordering was so simple. Kayleigh met me inside with my order all prepped & ready. She was delightful. I had the caramelized onion brisket panini which was delicious My daughter ordered the sesame chicken bowl & insisted I try it--- oh my goodness---it was fabulous!! Such complex flavor profile & textures!! It's so amazing to have such locally sourced food prepared with such amazing care at such excellent prices. This is an absolutely fabulous farm to table experience that I can't recommend highly enough. Decided to have mid day 'lunch' here on a whim. It's not easy to get to right now due to all the construction, however it is worth the effort in my opinion. Food is slightly pricy: however, the flavors are spot on. It is a soup, sandwich, salad type place. Portions are decent but not huge. Perfect for lunch or a light dinner. When we arrived the concept was to place your order before sitting down then pick a table. However, we did notice those at the bar could sit down then place their order. We will try that next time as it's preferred for us. I'm not sure what happens during lunch rush when everyone is standing around the front door trying to place orders. Maybe it works? Truly the rudest service we have ever experienced at a restaurant. After ordering at the counter, we left a 20% tip on expensive meals for 4. Found a table and waited for our food. Three entrees were delivered and about 15 minutes later the 4th entree came. The worst part was a server or maybe a manager (not sure who as they never bothered to make an introduction) interrupted our conversation to say that the cashier had under charged us by about 10% and they wanted us to pay up. They explained that the cashier was on her 4 th day and did not hit the correct key. We had to dig out a few dollars to cover this mistake. The person made it very awkward for us by not explaining the situation very well. The tip more than covered the discrepancy. Food was acceptable but the whole issue was embarrassing and so rude in front of our guests. read more
