This is an UPDATE: Quickly after writing my original review I received contact from Brian at Oswalt Law Group. It takes quite a monumental event to change any rating, but it's even more monumental to go from 1 to 5 stars. This change of opinion is due to the understanding, empathy and consideration Brian gave to me, even though I was somewhat upset and likely difficult to deal with. Although I do not need their services, I would not hesitate to go to Oswalt again. It may seem like quite a flip flop and it is, but the manner in which Brian dealt with my dismay was quite exemplary. His only intention was to make things right and that is so far from what I had expected in return for my review. Thank you to Brian for being patient with me on the phone and for letting me speak my voice. I appreciate the professionalism in which you handled the situation and have no doubt that my circumstance was a unique experience. I will mention that Brian offered a refund which is amazing, but it's not the reason for the 5 stars. Anyone can cut a check to shut someone up, but it's rare to be made to feel important. I know that they've helped numerous clients and have since read rave reviews and so my experience was unique and based on information that they were unaware of as it was complicated. Brian was understanding and stood by the high standards that they operate by. He didn't flinch to do what I felt to be the right thing and he offered their services should I need them again. Brian's actions, on behalf of Oswalt were above and beyond any thing I was expecting. His empathy and understanding was what impacted me the most. I have left my original review to reflect the contrast of opinion but id like to retract words and comments: shady, unethical and the statement about going to the state bar. Kyle is the first person I spoke with and even though he isn't personally handling my case, he talked me though the process and made me feel very comfortable sharing all the necessary information needed to start working the case. But, Kyle didn't stop there, he has reached out to me every couple weeks just to check on how I feel things are going. So, after leaving a review yesterday to four places online AND submitting a complaint with the bar association they literally had some lady call me trying to calm me down and threatened me TWICE! I have it recorded since they lie so much i had to start showing what they are really about. I have been to hell and back. She said twice after I told her about the reviews, so other people dont make the same mistake, she says,....."keep in mind stuff will come out about you that you may not want out". TWICE. I filed Chapter 13 three years ago with the Oswalt law group. I was out of bankruptcy in two years and two months out of a four year plan.But sometimes we still get calls from debt collectors harassing us and I'll call the Oswalt law group and they took care of it. I got into my first auto accident a couple days ago and I was trying to figure out which law group to work with and after some research, I decided to choose Oswalt. I spoke with Nick Timpani and I was very happy how fast the whole process was and how helpful he had been. Nick answered all the questions I had and was extremely friendly the entire time. I would have been better off filing my BK without paying over $2,000 to Oswalt Law. I have done everything and I am still not done. They continue to confuse me with lengthy emails. So I went in to get a consultation. The salesman that's who you deal with first, was good so we started a payment plan with them to get to the $2500 you we'd to pay before they file. Throughout the entire time I had an uneasy feeling Bc chapter 13 there is a possibility the judge could make you sell your house to pay off. I never really got a straight answer but no worries I went ahead with it. Later I called them to let them know I lost my job and if I had to do anything What I didn't know is that 2-3min call cost $143 Finally by the grace of God I found a job and Bc I still felt uneasy about losing my house. I called and canceled and yes another $100+ for that call. By this time we had paid out $800. As I expected they managed to charge me just enough to keep most of my money except $100. Thank you Ms Oswalt. I feel cheated. I read the ppw which clearly states the initial visit would be $460 if I canceled so I was prepared for that. But I was naive to think that a large corporation would care enough for those already having financial difficulties not to nickel and dime you. read more

so I saw what I thought was a nice reputable company law group advertisement for this company Oswalt law group No Money down to start a bankruptcy (lies) I signed up for the payment plan in Aug 2023 got done or paid in full Dec 2023 i reached out to see when my case would be filed finally in Feb2024 they called and had me mame and bring in 3 copies of all my paperwork 1-us 2-for them and 3- for the courts ok we signed up for a chapter 7 but as time went on our income changed so they said we had to do a chapter 13 even though the means test says if you don't make $107,000 you qualify for chapter 7 we have an houehold of 7 and our rent is $3100 a month but they still keep trying to push a chapter 13 on us and haven't done anything for us so I go to cancel them and asked for my money back and he had the nerve to say I owe them -$4300 but they're just gonna write that off of course because yall didn't do anything creditors still contacted us my check gets garnished because the didn't do any stop and decease on our bills or anything at all and now we are stuck looking for a new attorney and having to come out of pocket with more money because Oswal law group are some white collar crooks please check revi and references before you sign unlike me l will never trust another big name group again in life I wanted to do -1000 stars but this won't let me read more

We believe their forte is bankruptcy. We have had a difficult time with this firm. To keep this brief and not dwell on the specifics, we should have gone with our first choice of attorney who specializes solely in traumatic brain injuries. One thing we should have done is record every meeting because statements made by staff were later disputed. We feel bad for Ms. Sandra Oswalt who signed a letter containing erroneous information which she probably believed was correct info typed by her staff. Bankruptcies is definitely their expertise. We went to them on behalf of our daughter to seek advice on filing bankruptcy which then morphed into a PI case at our initial gratis consultation meeting. Team members changed & info & directives given to the initial team were not forwarded to the PI team. Brian T., who handles their PR is an excellent mediator when there are conflicts. read more

The experience with Oswalt Law Firm wasn't what I expected. When I went for my initial consultation, I was painted a very nice picture of what they could do. Once I paid the full balance (six months later), they projected a whole different "amount" (right before filing). I understand some things will change but this was a total 360 and was not feasible; even given the same information from the first consultation. I lost $2,500 due to "fees". I was told I signed an agreement stating if this happened, they were not liable (in which I did) but my concern is, if matters did change from income and debt (within six months) I wouldn't be as disappointed (because I would be at fault), but nothing changed from the initial consultation. Every case is different, I accepted the outcome because I had no choice, wasted six months of time and lost $2,500. They need to be more transparent with there clients on what they could "actually" do. read more

Where to begin? Ok from the beginning. On my initial appointment for a simple chapter 7 I was quoted almost $2000. When I declined at that price, magically it went down to $900. Which was still more than competitors. But ok, I chose to hire them, that's on me. I had an extensive conversation with the attorney about how this would benefit my situation, and considering that I am no longer a young woman I discussed my concerns on rebuilding my credit post bankruptcy. I was assured more than once that this was part of what I was paying for, help in reestablishing my credit after bankruptcy. The attorney was extremely nice and assured me that the firm would educate me on rebuilding and starting over. I heard at least 100 times the words "clean slate". It's lies! It is all lies!! With the exception of the mandatory pre-and post-filing counseling one must take on line, no one offered me any suggestions, any education, or anything else for that matter on reestablishing my credit and continuing with my life. Now I am almost 6 months post bankruptcy and everything that I have applied for tells me that I have too many delinquencies? What the hell did I file bankruptcy for? I was assured a clean slate!! I understand that I now have the bankruptcy on my credit, which I was well aware would hinder me to an extent. But if I am still dealing with all of the delinquencies and still have everything showing on my credit report then why did I pay these people $900 to screw me up even more? I am literally worse off than I was pre-bankruptcy. I will never recommend them to anyone. I would never use them again for anything. They flat out lied! Once they get your money they don't give a rats behind what happens in your life. I'm a senior citizen that now can't get water on credit. It is worse than before I filed. I started the process with Oswalt last year around March. In May after my husband and I got married we both decided to cancel the process with Oswalt and use the pre-paid legal services I started receiving from work. I was just charged again on the 15th for their payment (after not being charged since June of last year). I called the accounting asking for them to reverse it as we had elected to cancel with them, I had to leave a voicemail). It has not been reversed nor have I received any call back. I can't say that I am impressed by them. When I had first spoken with them there was a garnishment they said they would help with until my bankruptcy could be done. They never did anything when I gave them the information in March of last year. I ended up using my prepaid legal service in June and it was handled. read more

In 2017 my husband and I felt like we had no choice with the bad choices we made financially but to declarer bankruptcy. We were sitting in the offices of Oswalt Law Group with all the paperwork when the gentleman sitting across from us brought to light a possible different path. We were then put in touch with Mr. Brian Timpani who walked us through the Debt Negotiation process. Mr. Timpani worked tirelessly to take on major creditors and settle our debt to almost half of what we originally owed. The process was very time consuming and slow moving but every time we got a phone call from Mr. Timpani letting us know that he was able to negotiate a balance owed for $.50 on the dollar (sometimes less) it was a welcomed call and a great relief. Last summer was one of the hardest years of my life. I had just resigned from my job due to mental health/addiction issues and went into an inpatient treatment center. When I got out of treatment I was faced with months of interviews and constant rejections. I went to a very dark place and ended up with two back-to-back suicide attempts. Without health insurance, I accumulated close to 100k of medical debt. The past year has been a constant struggle to stay sober and keep up with my bills.
