Country Cottage was good, but nothing special. The ambiance is what one might expect for being part of Senior Estates, with dated decor to match; but still a cute little dining establishment. My parmesan crusted halibut was a little more dense than I would expect for that type of fish -- it was bright white, but was not flaky at all. The flavor was good, but it felt very heavy with the provided tartar sauce. The fries had great flavor, but they could have stayed in the fryer a little longer, as they were rather pale. The veggies were obviously frozen and reheated, and didn't have a lick of seasoning on them -- definitely needed salt & pepper. I ordered soup with my meal, and it didn't make it out before the main courses. Not a huge deal, as they just brought it out after I mentioned it. The soup was okay, but nothing special. The best part of the meal was dessert -- Dutch Apple Pie. It was just what an apple pie should be, with a nice flaky crust. I would definitely go back, but might try something other than seafood. The food here is great. I had the country fried steak and eggs which were good but the pancakes were delicious. They smelled of vanilla and it was infectious. My brother loved his burger and my mom loved the bacon and eggs she had. The restaurant itself has a nice diner/golf course restaurant feel to it. The service was excellent. Stopped in for dinner on the way home on a Wednesday around 6pm, wasn't too busy. The food was delicious! We got the Chicken Cordon Blue & Chicken Fried Steak and both were great, will definitely be back. Quaint restaurant with some seating with a view of a Golf Course with table & also booth style seating. There also is an enclosed patio, it was not open when we were there. Only reason not 5 stars is my food wasn't 5 stars along with the interior decor.. We showed up around 5pm on a Saturday & the Restaurant was almost full. We still got seated fairly quick. Our server was overworked, but still friendly & provided good service & checked on us frequently. I ordered a Marionberry Shake, which needed to contain more Marionberry imo, it had more of a vanilla shake flavor. I also ordered a omelette with that came with a side of big thick pancakes. Food was good but service was awful, it took almost an hour to get a glass of wine. Then our waitress messed up our order. We noticed that the other waitresses were doing a much better job. We have eaten there at other times and the service and food were great. I think they had a lot to deal with on Valentine's Day. Too many people to be served. read more

Excellent service. Friendly and helpful. Before being seated we were asked if we wanted a booth or table. Tables are by the window with a beautiful view of the golf course. This place is a surprise hidden gem in Woodburn. We ate here on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy. They serve breakfast all day and have specials every night. Saturday nights are prime rib nights. My partner got the prime rib and loved it and I got the chicken cordon blue but I didn't love my food. It was okay, nothing amazing. The staff is super friendly. Had lunch here today and was disappointed in my selections. I had their version of eggs Benedict which substituted a biscuit, a sausage patty, and a white sauce, not a Hollandaise sauce. I really missed the Hollandaise sauce. Probably shouldn't be listed as a Benedict. Then I had a bread pudding. It arrived with little torn pieces of bread pudding. VERY dry. It was lightly finished with a vanilla sauce and some whipped cream. In NO way was this a creamy pudding. Overall it was very dry and I asked for some milk, which they brought. Great little know place! Don't be put off by the fact that they are in a small country club senior estates area. Really good food and excellent service. They have options for those watching their carbs. Replaced their hash browns and toast with fresh tomato slices. The chicken fried steak our daughter had was amazing. Cara and I were down in Keizer and headed home I said let's try something new...... she says OK looks up yelp and finds this little quaint restaurant. OK so we pull into the neighborhood and I'm a bit freaked out its a residential area and I'm thinking no way is there a restaurant here..... well yep its there. we pull in and I look at it and go....... nope this doesn't look good, its a little golg course and I'm thinking well its the snack bar or hot dog concessions at the pro shop so we pull out again....... We had eaten here once before about a year ago and had a really great experience. Food was great....service was amazing. We had to meet someone in Wilsonville on this particular morning and thought we would take the drive further South to eat here since we had such a great experience the first time. This visit (mid-October) was horrible. First we walked in and guests were walking around without masks on. When we were sat, the person who seated us did not ask "may I get you something to drink while you wait". It took almost 7 minutes for a server to arrive and when she got to the table, there were no pleasantries at all. It was a quick "what will you have?". I ordered blueberry pancakes....and she repeated what I was having. She started to run away and we asked if we could have some coffee. We finish that cup and keeping seeing people walk by the table with a pot, but none taking a look around and seeing that others might need a little more coffee. We've been waiting a really long time and may need to see about getting our food to go when we see a server (not ours) walking toward the table with an arm full of food. She places the food down across from me and takes the bread plate off of my food (yeah.....she sat a plate on top of my pancakes. Oh wait...the pancakes have no blueberries in them. The server finally comes over to the table and I tell her there are no blueberries and she said "I didn't hear you ask for blueberries". LIAR!! I sent an email to the restaurant manager and she responded with an email full of excuses. A simple 'we dropped the ball' would have been nice. But instead it was full of "Covid has made this industry very difficult to perfect with all the stringent restrictions and new requirements." & "It was stressful day for us. We were short handed by two employees as well as a young man who was supposed to be in training that just got thrown into the mix." NOT MY ISSUE!! "....... they gave bad service that day. Not just to you,but to many tables as they were in over their heads working short staffed" Another excuse. The bus boys were standing around with their hands in their pockets and I sure as heck did not see a manager step in to help her struggling staff. She offered a gift certificate, but things were so bad I have no plans of ever returning. I'm afraid our outstanding experience was not the norm. read more
