For example the doctor told his staff to conduct a CT scan. Never quoted a price. After I was told it cost almost $1000 but that I'd be charged 50% of their earlier lower price (almost $200). And they proceeded to bill my dental insurance the entire nearly $1000 for the imaging (which my insurance denied). I'm scheduled for extraction and implant early next year but when I asked for the cost I was told they need to calculate it and let me know. I'm still waiting 3 weeks later. I like Dr Tassone as a dentist but there have been times from visit to visit that his diagnosis changes. I don't want to change dentists but now getting teeth cleaning elsewhere. I'm aware opinions can change and different dentists offer entirely different treatment options. What I don't appreciate are my dental insurance benefits getting wiped out before I can blink twice. After that I'm on my own and having to decide if want to pay the high rates.

I could have waited. Why didn't they tell me this when I asked?! Then I asked why this was so expensive and they said I'm being billed based on my zip code. Great, so they are overcharging me. Also, I needed to sign a form that I understand my dentist is an independent contractor. So they are like stylists at a hair salon renting a chair there? They have a big sign at the front saying how they were voted best this and best that. I wonder how much they paid for those. No way. I will never use them again and I don't recommend them at all. Liars, cheats and shoddy work. I'm looking elsewhere.

After talking with Jessica, they changed their tune to "Oh actually he is, let's get that re-worked." My only complaint is the $88 charge for "Oral hygiene instructions". I don't think "brush, floss, don't drink sugary drinks" is really $88 advice. If it's the after-care instructions for the gum thing I had done, isn't the after-care instruction just part of the procedure? Why a separate charge?

My daughter's orthodontic treatment has involved constant staff turnover, conflicting billing information, poor communication, and repeated situations where I have had to investigate the office's records myself. The most concerning issue has been insurance billing. I repeatedly questioned whether our insurance was being properly billed and received inconsistent explanations. I was eventually told that a claim had been submitted to MetLife and that processing could take up to 45 business days. I have now obtained the MetLife EOB. PCH Smiles submitted an orthodontic claim for $8,270, and MetLife paid $0 because additional information was required from the dental provider. I was subsequently advised by MetLife that it was waiting for PCH Smiles to provide documentation regarding the prior Delta Dental payments. I ultimately submitted the PCH Smiles billing statement to MetLife myself. Even more concerning, I have now discovered documentation reflecting an approximately $11,000 orthodontic contract amount, which is not the price represented to me when I agreed to treatment. I am formally disputing these amounts and have requested supporting documentation from the practice. There have been other problems. On the day my daughter arrived to have her braces removed, staff requested $109.96 that I had already paid. I had to show my own proof of payment before being told their paperwork "must have been old." Had I not had the documentation readily available, I could have paid twice. After her braces were removed, her bottom retainer did not fit, so she left without a functional lower retainer and required another appointment. I also was not proactively notified that her treating orthodontist had left the practice. When legitimate questions have been raised, I have encountered dismissive and rude communication rather than clear answers and accountability. My experience has required an unreasonable amount of time contacting insurance companies, reviewing statements, documenting payments, requesting records, and correcting information that should have been properly maintained by the practice. If you use this office, keep every receipt, obtain your treatment agreement, review every EOB, and independently confirm with your insurance carrier that claims were actually received. Do not assume that because you provided your insurance information, the billing is being handled correctly.

As a small practice I understand why he doesn't take any new clients cause his hours and his family needs are important and I understand that and respect that. When it comes to the front office it can be a bit frustrating & upsetting at times when phones aren't answered during work hrs or when appointments are canceled so last minute. I understand there are emergencies but contacting patients is important as well because they stop what they do to be there on time and part of customer service is communicating that. I've had pretty bad pain these past few days on a top right molar that I'm sure is going to be a Root Canal but I haven't been able to get a hold of anybody. I've called when they just open and have had to come in person during their work hrs and they are closed. No sign as a warning for patients. I understand the holidays are coming and at times they do close but I feel posting it in their front door or something would be the professional thing to do or The Staff taking care of that but at times it seems they don't care. The hours they have on their Yelp doesn't match in reality. I've tried calling several times and it's the same recording since we started coming 10 years ago it rings 2-3 times and then voicemail that It feels they never get to. I don't think I'm asking for a lot to be in the loop and know they will be closed from this date to further noice if that's the case. Maybe a new recording would be great it takes a few minutes to make one that sounds friendly and a bit more professional in my defense. She was very careful and confirmed if there was any sensitivity - surprise! there was, a LOT! She quickly numbed the area, and after a few minutes waiting for the novocaine to take effect, she applied the adhesive and reglued my crown.
