Holy hell is this place awesome. Very rarely will you find a vast selection pretty close by. I came in to grab a few pop and ended up purchasing more expansion sets for my munchkin game. Granted it's a little bit more marked up, but at the same time it's fair (bare with me on this). Living on island sorta kills your shipping rates, so I did a little research and I only save about 2~3 bucks if that if I bought it online. They have a variety of comics that will peek your interests. I took a friend and she found a few comics she has not read since she was a teen. Some good toys and figures. The staff are quite knowledgeable and kind. If they didn't have an answer, they will help you search. You can also request items and they maybe able to ship it to their store for you. I wish they had video game tournaments, but it's the typical comic book store with magic card based tourneys/dicking around. I think I saw warhammer in the other rooms as wel. So basically I went in there with a couple packs of older magic the gathering cards from 1994. They were in very good condition because I've never played Magic the Gathering, I just happened to buy them when I was a kid. Anyways one of the guys said that he handles the magic cards, he's got the most knowledge. Now keep in mind I have zero knowledge of magic cards and they knew this. So I gave dude my cards, he's looking through them he goes in the back makes a phone call comes back tells me, "I'll give you a hundred fifty bucks for all of them." I was about to say yes, but then remembered I looked randomly at one of the cards online and it was already $65 so I said I'll think about it, but I could tell he wanted them. I then said I can probably get more online, let me try that first, if it doesn't work out I'll come back and sell it to you guys. They warned me how hard it is to sell online and I can get scammed or ripped off. I said I'll take my chances. Bottom line went on Facebook and sold two of the 50 cards I had for $1,000! that same day. TWO OF THEM!!! I'm not saying they tried to take advantage of someone that didn't know the value of these cards but it seems a little fishy or they just don't know what they're talking about here. This shop is super welcoming and always helpful. They have always been helpful when looking for the newest issues or ordering special issues that are hard to find. It's also a sweet layout with all the room and not crowded. The thing I love the most is how my son loves going to this shop and the way the shop interacts with him. He's just a little kids and they make him love comics even more that leads to more reading. I recommend stopping by the shop. There's always good conversation and friendly people. read more

I love their new location! It was a bit hard to find at first, but the bf and I figured it out. It's so spacious. The guys are always so nice. I used to go to Jelly's for comics because it's closer to my home, but then I had a friend introduce me to Other Realms. I have my own box, which they have a list of comics I want, and they put it on the side for me to come into the store and not worry about it being sold out. I've been getting into tabletop games lately because of them. Their selection is great! I also love their dice selection. read more

I will freely admit that I'm not much of a gamer. I do play some, but I'm nowhere near what one would call an 'avid' gamer (or at least if you'd call me one, then I'd say that you have a pretty low bar). However, one game that I've fallen in love with and am rapidly picking up is Pathfinder. A good friend of mine first introduced it to me and since I'm a huge lover of the Fantasy genre and of storytelling, I quickly connected with this game and immediately fell victim to snapping up the books and amassing a collection of Pathfinder-related knowledge. I had originally bought several of my Pathfinder books at the Barnes & Noble in Ala Moana, but they didn't carry a few that I really wanted. Above all else, this was the Advanced Race Guide, which both Amazon and Barnes & Noble online were out of stock of at the time I was trying to acquire the books. I was traveling with another friend of mine and hanging out at Ala Moana when he suggested we check out Other Realms, telling me that they had recently moved from their old location and that it might have what I was looking for. Being only a few miles away from the location upon looking up the address on my phone, I had nothing to lose so we tracked it down. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic, and to my greatest surprise and joy, they had a single copy of the Advanced Race Guide left available, which I snapped up like lightning and began comically singing the store's praises for having the book I wanted the most. While it is true that all the Pathfinder items are sold at full price (typically at $30-50 a book), the staff keeps an active watch over the books, and will happily order a book that they don't have and let you know when you can pick it up (which I would come to do with the Pathfinder World Sea Guide). To me, the prices are worth it because it's a local gaming store, and it feels good to support it. I will always think of Other Realms for my Pathfinder-related things. read more

Stopped by Saturday & Sunday afternoon to try out some board games that they have for demos. We really like Splendor, Boss Monster, Smash Up, & Munchkins. Ended up buying Boss Monster yesterday and stayed up basically all night playing Shout out to Angel too! She is the best tbh. Super nice, always helpful, and has the cutest leggings. Nice spot to stop by for their tournaments, comic selection, or just to hang out and play some games. read more

Great find after stopping at fill up gas at Costco. Lots of games at reasonable prices and excellent, helpful staff. I am visiting Honolulu but will make this a regular stop when I come to visit family. Next time I will bring them with me to try out some of the games they have available. It is kind of hard to find but worth it when you do find it. read more

The new store is awesome. A bit hard to find, but once you do its easy to find again. The new location has tons of space for gaming and a ton of products I never even knew they had at the old store. They have pretty much every comic and 40k related item you'll need, plus board games, collectibles, card games, the list goes on. Defenitely one of my favorite stores. Not to mention, the staff is super friendly and helpful. If you like comics and stuff you owe it to yourself to check it out at least once. read more

1st review- Bad experience! Went to make a purchase and needed the two owners to verify and sell the item. One owner came and said to come back tomorrow, even though they had the item in arms reach. "Because they are busy" I drove from the Kapolei just to purchase the item. I was busy and dedicated 4 hrs of traffic time to head there and back. 2nd review- I went back a few days later and stumbled upon the owner reading the Yelp review I had written and they showed compassion, and love for what they do for their customers. I must have just caught them on a bad day on the first review. So all is forgiven. They have lots of space and run game-specific nights nearly everyday along with frequent tournaments and . Our whole family can find what they want here. Comics, heroclix, graphic novels, blind boxes, etc. Our oldest got into Heroclix because of watching a game that was going on, we got him the beginning of what is now a HUGE set. The community is amazing and VERY welcoming. Everyone has no problem teaching you what they know. There are demo games to play, and the employees are very friendly and take the time to get to know you. The hold bins for comics you collect is AWESOME. No where else that you go will put aside a new comic for you to come pick up at the very least once a month, and with the new rewards bro gram, how can you go wrong? Definitely a favorite in our household. We go at least every Sunday for Heroclix, and most often than not 2-3 times a week. read more

horrible customer service. workers are very rude with a exception with two workers out of their entire staff. they have very strict return policy which they did not relay to me when i bought about $100 worth of merchandise. i clearly communicated to the cashier while buying my items that i was a first time buyer and items were gift (reason to asked for gift receipts). during the entire transaction there was no information given to me that i could not return the gifts for a full refund. i came in to return the two items and was told i could only exchange them which was very disappointing because the worker didn't tell me they don't give refunds. at that time, i assumed both items i could exchange since the worker said while looking at the two items that i can't get a refund and only exchange. one of the items had it plastic wrap removed but everything else intact and the worker then didn't disclose to me that i could exchange it in that condition. i came back again, intending to exchange the items (including the item with the plastic wrap removed.) i was told by the worker that i could not return it because the plastic wrap was removed. but my previous visit, the other worker said i COULD EXCHANGE! they also pointed out a tiny sign (during my 3rd visit), which included their policy. the sign is in a horrible spot. it is located on the customers left side on a pillar under a tv. and it is not visible while purchasing any items due to the fact that a customer would be facing the cashier toward their right and the sign would be in a blind spot. no one pointed the sign out to me when i bought the items. there is no information of any policies on their receipt given after purchase.
