Had an appointment to look at a used pickup truck. I live an hour away, drive straight from work and arrived on time. Entered dealership and said what salesman I had an appointment with, was told he was with someone and could wait. I waited for almost 1 1/2 hours, the girl at the front desk by then had left for the day and I finally stopped someone. They were surprised but said I could take that truck for a ride so I agreed. Went for a quick drive and when I came back I was met by several of the salesman the moment I walked back inside. Was only then told that there was a problem, the truck had already been sold. The salesman I had appointment with said didn't know I was there. Wow. So I drove for an hour for an appointment , waited for 1 1/2 hours, took the truck for a drive and then found out the truck had been sold. They tried apologizing but didn't give me a good enough explanation how this happened. Now I have an hour drive home. At the least would have thought someone would have called me before I drove to the dealership. Apparently the salesman that said take it for a ride didn't know it was already sold? I've always heard that Otis Ford has a great reputation, my family members have bought vehicles from them, my employer buys all their trucks from them. Well I will not be going back after that experience. I cannot understand how they could have done that. Very disappointing. Zero stars. read more

$240 for an oil change on my 2003 MB CLK320! I took my car in for state inspection and they offered a "The works" oil change for $35 including rotating the tires, new filter etc, so I asked them to change the oil. When I went to pick up the car they presented me with a bill for $279, $39 for the inspection and $240 for the oil change. They charged $24 per quart for full synthetic oil which was selling at Costco for $6.40 for Mobil brand and $2.20 per quart for Kirkland brand. read more

Don't ever leave a car there by putting the keys in the overnight slot. I left a car there with a flat tire and put the keys with a note in the overnight slot. I called to approve the flat repair and also asked for General service. Two weeks later I called before going to pick it up and it was not finished and nobody called me in between. They said there was miscommunication on the approval. Meanwhile my car sat in the elements for three weeks. How a service center can leave a car unattended for three weeks is beyond me. read more

Service department is nothing but bad attitude (and I am being very very polite). We were left with the impression that it was our fault that Ford improperly designed the rear axle of our Windstar. They even stated they were doing us a favor by making the repair. "This sure isn't OUR fault," the service manager stated. "We don't build or design them." This is one of the worst and most unpleasant experiences I have ever had with a Ford dealership. I am a business owner and have 4 Ford vehicles. I brought my F250 in for service on a Tuesday morning and was promised the vehicle back on Wednesday - I needed the mirror glass replaced, the rubber valance replaced (both very simple, not requiring work on the motor or parts) and a new starter. I received a message at the end of the day Tuesday 4:30 PM in regards to what needed to be done to my truck, but when I was able to call back the shop was closed. Called Wed morning and then told the truck would not be ready until Thursday morning because they were waiting on a new side mirror to arrive, and rudely told that it was MY FAULT because I did not get back to them right away. My fault. Verbatim. The customer. I asked them when the mirror (just the glass part) was coming in and they said they had no idea. I asked if they knew where it was coming from and could they follow up on it. No, they could not do that. No idea when to expect it and no way to find out when it would be in. Thursday they called me at 2:30PM and said that they got in the wrong part for the front of the vehicle (rubber valance - trim piece under bumper) as well as that they didn't notice my front windows were tinted and would not be able to give me a new inspection. That they would have to scrape off my current inspection sticker since I had asked them to get me a new one. I had only asked them to get me a new inspection sticker since it was already there and my time is valuable. The front windows are hardly what you would call tinted. I have not done anything to this truck since I bought it in 2012, and I have NEVER had anyone say anything about the windows in a vehicle inspection. Never had a problem. And guess what? The truck wasn't ready until today, Friday and almost $1,500.00 later. Stay away from this place - terrible, rude service and typical overcharging and difficult to work with. I would give them negative 5 stars if I could. Pathetic. I'm so angry I brought my truck there. The gentleman's name of the person who was helping me in the service dept was named JOHN TAMBURINO. Service is extremely important to me as I make my living in sales with my cars. Although I find Ford products to be extremely reliable, things do happen. Brought in car for service and picked up next day. Car broke down and they supposed to tow back in but after 4 days waiting, I called and was told I had a bad attitude and John hung up on me. Called Frank the service manager and was told they would refund my money for the repair and to take my business elsewhere. So I did. I went to Riverhead Ford where they couldn't have been more accommodating. They fixed my car, I'm back on the road and couldn't be more pleased. I test drove different cars on two occasions. He gave me time to research the vehicles that I was interested in and explained my options clearly. This was my first time purchasing from a dealership so I was asking a lot of questions and he took the time to sit down with me and go over options. He also allowed me the time I needed to go over options for warranties they offered and different vehicles. With my work schedule it was difficult for me to get out to the dealership but Matt made sure that someone was there to assist me and worked with the times I was available. Unable to find a comparable car in the Tri-State area & before my claim was even settled, Tom Otis found a similar car 800 miles away. Without a deposit, on our word alone, he brought the vehicle to his dealership in Quogue within 2 days. Our settlement has been delayed for nearly 6 weeks now. This past October, I purchased a 2013 F-150 from the Otis Ford used car department. I was satisfied with my purchase until after two months and thirty-one hundred miles, I noticed excessive, uneven wear on the front tires. My initial impression was the camber was out of tolerance; however, upon professional evaluation it was toe that was out of adjustment. It was my hope that Otis Ford would stand behind their product and realign the front end, and I would deal with the tires. Hours after leaving Otis Ford I read the repair order/ receipt of work performed and came to realize that the service director authorized the replacement of both front tires. This was well beyond my expectations. This was my first purchase from Otis Ford which was a laid back, easy going, experi- ence; not at all aggressive and pushy which has been my experience elsewhere. I just traded in 2 vehicles and visited Carl Vail my salesman whom i purchased the van that i no longer needed after one year . I was treated beyond my expectations in getting a fair price for the trade and a plan to get out of another car that i had purchased out of state that was a very bad deal.Jeffery the used car manager and Carl worked with me showing me car after car i think i test drove 5 cars and they even allowed me to take 2 of them home for the day to see if i would like them. the whole process took a week not because of them but because i couldn't decide.
