Amanda then came and called me to the hearing booth. She informed me on what was going to happen with the hearing test. Amanda is a very compassionate and educated woman who truly cares about her patients. After the test was over we went to her office where she explained the results and her recommendations. She patiently listened to me and we came to a conclusion. There is no other audiology office that takes care of their patients as Affiliated Audiology Consultants! The first time I was shocked by the lack of care was when I needed my hearing aids to simply be turned up. They were working fine. But they told me my hearing aids were older than 5 years and that I needed to purchase new ones. After leaving this practice, and experiencing that this was in fact a choice they are making in the industry I lost all respect for ABHA. Hearing care is absolutely exploited and this business runs on that opportunity. No quality care or professionalism is to be found here. I did end up purchasing new aids here, trusting them that it was in fact time to make a new investment in my 5 yr old aids. After just a few appointments and them being 100% responsible for not being able to adjust my hearing aids -that they recommended for my hearing loss- they told me I was no longer an able to be a patient there. I was forced to completely start over, except -- I had purchased my hearings aids with them and the service care plan included. When starting over I ran into issues of having to purchase a separate care plan to receive appropriate services. Thankfully I was able to navigate this and found another provider who truly did show me that that every single thing about the way ABHA does business is wrong. They have now changed their name, but not their stripes.

I've had MRIs, CAT scans, ENT specialists, optomotrists, blood work, on and on. It was sheer coincidence that I heard about SW Balance Institute in Phoenix, AZ. After invesigating this somewhat unusual approach, I made an appointment. I was very impressed with the professionalism, knowledge and empathy the therapists and staff displayed. Initially, you're put through a series of tests taking 5 hours, all harmless. After assessing the results, an individualized plan is developed which entails 6 weeks of sessions, twice a week and a series of videos, about twenty minutes in lenth, watched twice a day. After the six weeks, there is another comprehensive elvaluation and instructions to continue care. For the first time in over three years, I started to feel normal again! The office is a very nice place and we were only waiting for about 3 minutes. The doctor helping me gave the answers that I needed and some suggestions to help my issue. We were the only ones in the office which was sad because this office is very nice and helpful, I think the reason behind this is because we were their early and I looked over other reviews that said that this office was not great but I fully disagree this was an amazing experience for me. We were out of there in very quick which is surprising knowing the fact that they did a great job and we left with some great answers. I definitely recommend this office to others.

After many decades of drumming and taking every opportunity to see the awesome bands of my day, my…read moretinnitus became more than a minor daily annoyance. I knew I needed help with my tinnitus and hearing loss, but I didn't want to be one of those persons who spends a gob of money on hearing aids, then doesn't use them. And here's where Dr. Kelly Hanscom really helped me out. I sport a shaved head, so it's not like I have luscious locks to help hide hardware behind my ears, so I really wanted to go with jamming the whole shootin' match in my ear. Dr. Kelly advised me on the available options and clearly explained the pros and cons of the different styles of hearing aids. I used a set of loaner hearing aids until my ordered units came in. Dr. Kelly tuned the loaners (and then my person devices) so that I would receive greater amplification of the frequencies in which my hearing is deficient. But she didn't overdo it. This seems to be where a lot of new hearing aid users experience frustration. I've heard several people say, "I'd wear them, but they're too dang loud!" Dr. Kelly artfully managed the acuity and volume of my hearing aids over the course of three months. As she explained, if a new user gets too much volume at first, it can be "jarring." That's the perfect word. So, over the course of three months, Dr. Kelly eased me into the "power" of my new hearing aids, and she also spent plenty of time ensuring that the fit is perfect and that I understand how to maintain and care for my new devices. I love wearing my hearing aids. It's been four months. The tinnitus therapy is wonderful! In fact, my wife can tell by my mood at the end of the day if I have been wearing my hearing aids. Without the tinnitus therapy, she says I am noticeably more anxious by day's end. And don't forget to say 'hello' and be nice to Franchesca at the front desk. After just a few visits, she had my name down and she regularly offers me cookies when I visit. Don't struggle another day with your tinnitus and hearing deficiencies. It's not only affecting your quality of life, but it's also affecting the quality of life of your family, friends, loved ones, and co-workers.
