Simply put, the bodega breakfast sandwich might be the best breakfast sandwich I've ever eaten. I took it to eat on the road and was startled about how delicious it was. The freshly baked (you can tell) brioche bun with everything bagel seasoning on top added a great salty taste to go along with the tasty stuff inside. I've traveled all over the country for work for 20+ years, and like I said, this might be the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had! To top it off, the staff was super nice.

I think it was because they enjoyed working there. Or, at least it give them a chance to eat some really tasty food. I had their Cubano Tartine. That's kind of like an omelet with the ingredients of a Cubano sandwich, except for the roll, mixed in. (And yes, I get that the cooking process is a bit different.) ' Anyway, this Cubano Tartine shows up on a plate in front of me. I dig in and keep digging. The ingredients, ham, cheese, pickles, etc, were plentiful and delicious. They were sitting on an ample slice of their sourdough bread. That was the first issue. It was IMPOSSIBLE to cut. I guess I could have asked for a steak knife or maybe a power tool. But, there was so much other stuff that I was able to have a very filling meal without it. The other issue was that the lightly dressed side salad was doused in dressing. Again, didn't complain because, for me, it wasn't a problem during this visit. Issues aside, if I come back to Hagerstown, I'll look for an excuse to come back.

I will admit I am not the biggest fan of Pho as I don't eat beef and have been disappointed in the past by most non-beef Pho options. However, this place has great reviews so I wanted to check it out. One thing about me, even if I don't like something, I will always keep giving it another shot! I'm so glad I did because the moment we walked in, I could tell this place would be good. It smelled incredible in there! Also this place was packed, and more and more people kept coming in within the hour of them being closed. You can definitely tell that this is a local favorite, especially for JMU students. I got the seafood pho and was blown away! It was so flavorful and actually tasted phenomenal. I ate every bit of it. In the past I've found Pho to be bland, but not this one! I added a ton of condiments and such to it which made it even better. My husband got a weekend special, I believe it was a pork chop plate and he really enjoyed his dish as well.

We are from Texas and we're not expecting much when we went. Ok - we were positively surprised. The chips and salsa are good - the salsa has a nice flavor and not hot which is good for chips. The queso has a very good flavor. We tried the California burrito which had carnitas, rice, refried beans and was topped with white queso. The carnitas was prepared perfectly - great flavor and moist. We also tried the steak burrito (I forget the name) and it was also very good. The steak had a great flavor as did the rice and beans. Finally, we tried the chicken taco salad which was also very good. The grilled chicken was full of flavor and the cheese, lettuce and tomato were very fresh. I added the green salsa which is both flavorful and has a mild kick to it. This is truly the first really good Mexican restaurant we've found in Virginia! We'll go back when we are in town again. Our server was very friendly and the food was timely. I recommend this place!!
