After an Oil change by our local mechanic the code cleared and we that it was done. Not to long after it did it again while she was trying to get our Special Needs Grandchild to Marybridge Childrens clinic in Tacoma for an outpatient procedure. She limped it back to town. We gave her our Subaru to use. Mechanic cleared the code so we could hopefully get it to the dealer. Once we got there; we were told by a Service Writer that with code cleared they can't do anything and is charging a $150.00 to drive it around until the code popped back in. They can use the DTC to find codes that have been cleared. We told them the code P1326 was found and wrote it down for them. We are contacting the BBB and writing to Corporate. The exact thing happened with code P1326 with our daughters car a year ago. They fixed the issue...but it came back, so a new engine put in. Not saying the Sonata needs a new engine ; but there is a massive recall for this specific problem. There is no reason to drive the car, waste the gas when they can find the info with that DTC scan. We also noticed after the code was pulled the total miles on the car jumped by 5,000 miles. We know because of a recent oil change. Next one was due at 171,000 miles. Car is still at the dealer. We refused to try and drive it back 30 miles where it would just sit; it can't be trusted.

Paul, the salesman, wasn't pushy, answered all questions, was very knowledgeable about Toyota, and the vehicle. My son felt confident he was buying a good 'rig', and I was too. Paul also gave us a very liberal price on a trade in. It's nice to go to a used vehicle lot and come away feeling good about your purchase. Oh, don't forget the tire pressure. I had initially agreed to have them do a tune up and replace a steering bushing and the valve cover gaskets. After reading reviews I called and told them to only do the plug repair and oil change. When I picked up my vehicle, they charged me $84.69 (25% restocking fee.) For returning parts they supposedly ordered. (Steering coupler, cap and rotor, two valve gaskets, air filter, and spark plugs) There is no way these parts added up to $338.76. The parts, all OEM. come to $96. I took my paperwork from Autohaus to Pete Lea to check out. He is arguably the premier auto mechanic in Olympia, WA. Pete confirmed my suspicions. He said I should get the Heli sinc metric thread kit from Autohaus they charged me for it, and should not have been charged a restocking fee for basic items a shop usual keeps on hand. I requested they give me the hele sinc metric thread kit and they refused. My other mechanic also said the same thing about the part. Nate offered to give me the $84 back. I told him if he gave me a $1000 back i would only leave a couple reviews. Nate refused. what sort of loser would I be to take money from someone and then not leave an honest review.

The techs end their shifts around 3 and the person who answered the phones and called to let me know the car was ready could not tell me what work was done, why it was done, nothing. If you opt to work with this garage, get everything in writing up front and in person and do not leave your car with them if you can help it.
