I came here several times while in town for a work trip because (1) it was close to my hotel, and (2) it was a really nice place! I tried the turkish delight latte both hot and iced (it's better hot, in my opinion) -- it's sweet and the flavor is unique which I really enjoyed! I also tried one of their pistachio croissants which was very sweet but it was tasty; I'd never had one before and liked the taste of the cream. They warm it up for you too, it's nice to have in the morning with coffee or tea. I also tried their chili crisp egg bowl on the day I left Chicago, which did store and travel well all the way to the airport where I had it about 1-1.5 hours later -- it was very tasty, and not too spicy (but had a strong kick!). The texture of the food was particularly nice and even though it was $15 which is a little high, I was certainly full. I would definitely have it again :) The inside of this place is also nice; it's usually pretty full and the tables are full (in the mornings anyway), but it would be a good place to hang out and study I think. The bathrooms are also very clean and the staff are nice, and they give you a $5 birthday coupon :) Overall would rec a visit here if you are around downtown Chicago and want a drink or pastry! read more

We stopped by here for brunch since it was very close to our hotel. I didn't realize there were multiple locations. I had the turkey bacon egg croissant and the wife got the avocado toast. We really enjoyed our food but the coffee was the best. We got the Vietnamese cold brew and that was so refreshing and good. It helped wake me up in the morning and got me ready for the day. Service was great. They were patient and helped answer questions when we were ordering. The bus boys were friendly and quick to clear our tables. The coffee here is very good, but the service is so painfully slow. It's a consistent issue, which is surprising given its proximity to the red line/morning commute route. I came here on the last day of neocon and the space was huge but I do recommend going a bit earlier to avoid the rush. I'm not sure if it's typically like that every weekday or just because of neocon. Everyone was super friendly and they brought my food out to me when I dined in. I like that the lattes you get when you dine in have a little muffin as well. I tried their cinnamon roll, iced tiramisu latte, and lox bagel. I do wish the tiramisu latte was a bit stronger but it was still pretty good. The lox bagel was delicious and the bagel was super soft and warm when I got it. Any time I visit my son in Chicago, I have to go to Goddess and the Baker. It was the name that first drew me in; it's the food and coffee that keeps me coming back! Had breakfast here with my son before his graduation and it didn't disappoint! Although they are always busy, the service is friendly and efficient. We got our coffee within a few minutes of sitting down and our food not long after. The chilli crisp egg dish is outstanding- perfect blend of flavors and textures. Omggg the tiramisu iced latte was heavenly. The mascarpone cold foam is thick and rich, literally tastes like dessert on its own. The latte underneath is rich and not too sweet, which balances everything out perfectly once you mix it together. It would've leaned a bit bitter on its own, but with the foam it's spot on. 9.3/10 The space is aesthetic but definitely on the louder side, still a solid chill breakfast spot. A bit warm so landed on the protein bow which was decent for my taste. Egg, port, avocado are all really good. Was not sure what is the red sauce which didn't offset the bitterness with quinoa. Came before noon on a Saturday and it was busy, as it's right next to a Hilton hotel. The line moved relatively quick. I ordered for dine in and waited to be seated by a server. If you're a small group, expect to share a table! Since I was solo, I shared a long table with several other parties. What I got: - Impossible Breakfast Sandwich (4/5): This was pretty decent! I added some Cholula hot sauce to give it additional flavor and that really topped it off, yum! I wish they provided a knife if I chose to cut it in half, but the sandwich is manageable regardless. - Iced Oat Milk Latte (3/5): The ratio of milk was more, which lightened the taste. It was ok, but have had better on another occasion. Still enjoyed the muffin treat! I wish it came with a straw for dine in. It had such a variety of ingredients in this salad. It included grilled chicken, apples, brussels sprouts, kale, cabbage, & blue cheese with honey mustard dressing and Parm crackers. Nice laid back spot to grab coffee, a pastry or a sandwich. We were mainly there for coffee. It was about 70 degrees so I got the iced shaken espresso and my wife got the goddess sweet cream cold brew. My main observation on the drinks is that they weren't overly sweet which was welcomed! Usually, I'm requesting sugar free syrup and/or oat or almond milk vs whole milk to cut down on sugar and carbs and I want to taste the coffee. We both remarked that the drinks were just sweet enough. My espresso was served in a glass that made me think of an alcoholic drink (see photo). We also grabbed a croissant and coffee cake. The lightly sweetened drinks balanced out the sweetness from the pastries which were fresh and tasty. Service was great and the vibes were chill. Great stop for lunch or an afternoon snack! The space is beautiful and bright, I loved the atmosphere. I got a Yuzu Lemonade and a Caprese Sandwhich and everything was delicious. The staff was very friendly. My only complaint is that it was super expensive especially for a quick bite - we got two sandwhiches, a bottled Soda, and Lemonade, along with with a souvenir water bottle but our total was around $100, and even with the bottle that seems like a lot and was not what we were expecting, so just keep that in mind. read more

It's not great - the pastries and coffee only just ok - the service can be downright rude. We went twice, because it was close to our hotel - after a good experience ~3 years ago at the Millennium Park outpost. The first time, we went for coffee and cake, I was hoping for rainbow cake, but when I asked about it, the server looked at me as if I were nuts, she'd certainly never heard of such a thing. I had a slice of their strawberry-rubarb loaf which was decidedly mid. The second time we went for breakfast. Nothing was great - my pecan sticky bun was borderline stale, the other breakfast items were OK (burrito and sandwich) but ordinary, they messed up the coffee order (and initially refused to believe it), and most weirdly tried to gate keep which table we sat at, for no other reason than they seemed to want to. All in all we would not go back again. There are so many better places. read more

My non-vegan boy had some type of breakfast sandwich. I inquired how he would "rate" it 1 to 5. He said maybe a 3, bc if he lived nearby he'd come occasionally but not often. This place is has a ton of options from bakery items to sandwiches and salads. Service was friendly and quite fast. The bakery items were delicious I got the cookie pack which is always a great idea. I also the snickers cheesecake and another cookie. The tiramisu latte was absolutely delicious! I got the steak southwestern salad. It was okay I didn't think it had much flavor. I was having a staycation in the city and wanted to try something new. I've always seen this cute coffee shop but I've never stopped in. Well, I finally did! I have to say this is such a cute little coffee shop. The line was pretty long upon entering but it moved rather quickly. Before I knew it I was at the front of the line so don't let that deter you. They have so many bakery and drink options that I could barely decide on what to get. I decided to go with a chocolate croissant and pistachio latte. Both were perfection. My fav was the chocolate croissant. It was so flaky and chocolaty! I grabbed a seat by the window so I could enjoy my treats while doing a little people watching. It was a nice chill vibe and a great place to get some work done or just relax and read a book. I don't think this is the typical process, but it was so busy that day, order was needed amongst all the people. It was organized, quick, and staff were still friendly despite being extremely busy. I ordered the Turkey bacon croissant and hash brown for breakfast. Hash browns were just ok, the sandwich could've used more bacon and less egg. I'd return and try other things. This is my wife's favorite coffee shop chain so I have to give it a 5 stars (haha). But in reality, every time we go, it's always a hit. Never had a full meal like this before and it was delicious. Gyro Pita with Fries, delicious. The arrive was good too, nothing out of the ordinary BUT it is very thoughtful of them to have a HUGE water jug outside for people and doggo's. So nice when I see restaurants do that, they care about the community. The vibes were good too, I believe the manager came out to check on us, great vibes. Sadly, I there's little reason for me to visit any longer because I was told the owner removed the rainbow cake. Had a Friday morning brekkie at Goddess and the Baker while in Chicago for a work trip and was so happy to have closed the week out with a breakfast and environment as this. Was immediately drawn as I walked in and saw vibrant color, delicious foods, beautiful baked goods, coffees and teas, and happy people all around. Line was long but don't let that deter you, it moves quick. I ordered an iced latte and yogurt bowl and both were reasonably priced. Not sure if the portion was small or if I was really hungry but ended up finishing the yogurt so fast and ended up ordering a breakfast sandwich to follow. Also finished the sandwich pretty quickly too. Must have had a voracious appetite that morning. I planted myself at the bar seating for awhile while enjoying my iced latte and people watching. This is one of my favorite places to get a salad! The Kale Crunch Salad is just the best. I'm usually not a fan of fruit in my salad but the sliced apples adds this awesome crunch and sweet/tart flavor to the salad. I probably ate this salad 8 times last month bc I was just HOOKED--and it's great for when you don't have time to eat a proper sit-down meal. I order ahead and grab it to go. This was a conveniently located bakery. It was very busy. There was someone working diligently to find seating for patrons and also make sure people weren't occupying the tables for an unreasonable amount of time. The cafe itself was very bright with a very scrumptious and plentiful display of baked goods and desserts. I got the yogurt and a lavender honey latte. The granola was delicious. I went to this establishment on Sunday morning. It had bit of a "fish market" feel to it, rather than a cafe. There were two lines going and was a bit confusing. The greeting lady was very abrupt and rude. The managers should realize that the customers can be tourists as well, so they may not know how this busy location works. The lady on the register was nice and helpful, however there was a 30 min wait on drinks, and all I could order was regular drip coffee and breakfast sandwich, which was fine. The place was nice, however due to rush the ambience was ordinary. Not impressed with this chain, maybe some of there other locations are managed better. read more
