Brother-in-law has been raving about this place for years now. Finally got the chance to try it. Ordered their yellow curry with shrimp, calamari and California roll. Curry was delicious (medium spice), calamari was "real" and their California roll was generous in portion. Price is affordable and quality is exceptional. So glad we had this for dinner. It's been a hot minute since I'd been to Oudom and I'm mad I've waited so long to come back. Solid everything, from service to food, not a single complaint. We started with summer rolls which were wrapped well, moist and well filled. The Tom Kha was creamy and sweet with a nice sourness and the Tom Yum was a perfect balance of sour and savory. Neither were too hot and the ingredients were cooked perfectly with neither the chicken nor shrimp being overcooked as they can get in soups. The spicy tuna hand roll was well constructed but not super spicy, the tuna was good quality. The Hero roll was also well constructed, shrimp tempura was still warm and crisp and the salmon was buttery and soft. The Panang curry was well rounded and while the hot really wasn't hot, they provided condiments which let me kick it up a notch. The massamun was silky and robustly peanutty and both curries again had perfectly cooked but still crisp veggies and tender meats. Love the ambiance, cool tapestries between the booths, cozy but not cramped, and clean. Staff were wonderful, everyone pitched in where needed from running food to takeout orders. While I'm not up there often I'm definitely remembering it next time I need a Thai or sushi fix! read more

I used to live around the corner, so I've eaten here a lot over the years. The food is always delicious. The dining room used to be very small and narrow. But they've removed the bar and added more seating. It looks so open in here. The service is great. Such a gem in Downtown DeLand. read more

Wife and I came in for a date night the food is always good. I got the tofu tempura roll and it was delicious. My wife got the yellow curry we both enjoyed our food and ate it all. The front door is deceiving that this place may be a hole in the wall, but it is nice enough inside. The menu has a great selection of options and the service was good. We have people visiting from Ohio and we brought them here. Her service was incredibly personable and entertaining. As always the food was delicious. We have never had a bad meal here and have been many times. This is the first time we had been in since they renovated the interior. Unfortunately we felt it killed the ambiance. The booths were removed and replaced with tables. There were no decorations. The construction quality was not good. The restaurant had a smell of construction dust mixed with a musty odor. The ceiling was not all painted and had many stained white tiles still mixed with some black. It made us sad as we will never go back to dine in. Had to ask for silverware and napkins after apps had been there a few minutes. Servers were friendly but not very attentive. Had to ask multiple times for chili oil. (When we ordered and two more times after to two people) . Overall ok but nothing to write home about. read more

My family and I LOVE this place. Sushi is always fresh. The dinner plates have plenty of food and there's a wide variety of thai food to try. We arrived on a Saturday night and the whole place was packed. It's a small restaurant so you have a louder ambiance of people enjoying their meals. We were a party of 3 and had a 30 minute wait. While we were waiting, we crossed the street to Wander Bar to enjoy some cocktails before dinner. If your buzzer goes off before you finish your drink, they'll pour it into a to-go cup and Odom allows us to enjoy it at our table! I recommend this place to 2 of my friends who were with me (and have never been to Odom's) They thoroughly enjoyed the food we ordered and were impressed. For an appetizer we got the calamari and fried shrimp. And then for dinner we ordered the spicy tuna roll, crunchy roll & volcano roll. Everything was yummy and came out quickly. The food at Odum, Thai and sushi is outstanding! This tiny hole in the wall if you don't know it's there you would miss it restaurant in downtown. DeLand has some of the best sushi that we have had in the area. The seating is with scattered tables throughout the restaurant it might seat 30 people.however, we have found that they are often understaffed for the amount of people that are packed into the restaurant. For that reason, we don't go very often. read more

Grab a tray, and a side saucer - then pick your noodles (regular size or large - regular is plenty for most) then pick your protein and seasonings. Plenty of additional ones at the self-serve bar. Grab a fountain drink or water, sit down and enjoy filling your belly with tasty food for $15. If you walk by and there isn't a long line, that's your cue to get in line. Trust me on this.... Our daughter has been raving about this place for years, and with our trip to Thailand coming up, we thought it would be a great opportunity to practice using chopsticks. Now, I'll be honest--don't judge this restaurant by its exterior. It's not the most inviting, especially with the rundown old bookstore next door. But trust me, don't let that deter you. Once inside, you'll find it's a bit dated but very clean. The service was fantastic--friendly, efficient, and full of helpful suggestions. I opted for the Red Curry with seafood, and my wife went for the classic Pad Thai with chicken. Both dishes were bursting with flavor and absolutely delicious. I'm aware of some past issues with a Health Department inspection a few years back, but to the owner's credit, they've since posted all their inspection results, and everything has been in order. When we arrived at on Saturday @ around 6:30PM, there were a handful or so of tables availble. We were seated and when the waitress came, we order two glasses of wine and two appetizers for starters. The waitress returned with one glass of wine and said we don't have anymore wine glasses. She said if we wanted she can serve it in another glass or we could wait til she can get ine from another table. I thought she was joking. I said to her that was unacceptable and we got up and walked out. If at the beginning of their dinner hours they don't have two clean wine glasses, then how can we trust the freshness of the food..? After 13 years in Deland, we will never go back. This has not been the first bad experience but we want to support the local businesses. We're done. read more

Place was shut down on May 11th after the inspectors found 18 violations three which were high priority The violations included rodent activity. The restaurant has since met inspection standards and has been reopened. I will not die if facilities that have been shut down by the health inspectors due to rodents or poor food handling practices. read more

This used to be our go to spot! However upon or latest visit last night we won't be back! Upon walking in we were shocked to see how it had been transformed into a spot with less than zero ambiance! We were seated and it took quite some time for the waiter to acknowledge us! ( and they weren't busy when we arrived) When he finally came over to take our order we ordered two side salads, Thai iced tea, basil fried rice and the drunken noodles. When the Thai iced tea was delivered I took a big sip and unfortunately I was very disappointed it was beyond watered down, the salads arrived and yet again disappointment as the menu listed it was a bed of romaine lettuce what we received was nothing but iceberg! The main dishes arrived they were delish but we couldn't help but wonder were they delicious due to the Thai iced tea and salads being less than par?! My husband asked for his water to be refilled and the waiter came over with a plastic Rubbermaid pitcher with the label still attached to the front ( was it even washed?!). The server never followed up with us once our food was delivered. I had hoped to get some spices for my meal but no luck. Food was dropped and so were we for service. It's saddening how this place went from super service, quaint ambience,superior food quality to sub par in all aspects. We inquired if the place had been sold as we were shocked at the level or lack there of from the semi remodel(lacking any form of ambiance) quality of food and lack of service -turns out it was sold but the same family that cooked are still the cooks. The food was excellent! The ambience is bad. It's too small for the amount of people that want to dine there and do. It's loud and crowded. Additionally, I gave it 3 stars because I was put off by the unpleasant experience by the front door reservation and seating host on two separate occasions. His tone, on the phone and in person is like he really didn't care that you got seated or taken care of. He didn't make us feel welcome. I like going there because it's consistently good. If you are ever in the downtown area in Deland this spots is where it's atttttt. I am a fan of Thai cuisine an this place knocked my socks off. The service was phenomenal, the food is fantastic I'm so blown away. My favorite was the volcano sushi, that just has everything I love in it. I should have gotten two orders or at least had taken an order to go for a late night snack but I was soooo full from trying all the variety of delicious food I couldn't even think correctly.
