My wife and I dined at Our Mom's Place on a Sunday morning in October, 2017. Upon entering, we immediately knew this was the perfect place for us, the hostess (a very nice and friendly elderly lady) asked where we'd like to sit and after telling her we'd like to sit at the counter, she says "I like the counter too, though my favorite ones have alcohol on the other side!" It was wonderful to see her sense of humor. The service was great, and the food was very tasty. My wife had a broccoli and cheddar omelet which she said was great, and I had some eggs with linguica and toast, and that was amazing too. Highly recommend this place! read more

Never knew this place was here. Hidden behind friendly's on 44. Food was good! Prices were reasonable. I got a strawberry pancake on the side which was good but the strawberries were a bit cold. Next time I'll ask to have them heated. My husband got the three egg scrambler. He said it was tasty and it came with home fries and toast. Amazing. Fantastic. Delicious. Great prices. I read the name on Yelp and I knew I'd seen it before. I've driven by this place hundreds of times and never even thought of going in. Today I tried it and today I found a great breakfast place. The restaurant is quaint, but plenty of seats for this particular Monday. The kitchen is just over the counter, everything is open and in on room. The menu is small, which I take as they stick to what they know they can do best. I got the Lumberjack platter, loaded with pancake, eggs, toast, bacon, sausage, and home fries. The pancakes are fantastic! The home fries are incredible, some of the best I've ever had. The only loss of a star is not for negativity. It's portion control. I understand all about food costs but breakfast is when me as well as many other people are at their hungriest. A couple eggs, some bacon and toast hit the spot. The home fries though NEED to be bigger portions. They're homemade and absotively delicious but just not enough. I stopped in on my way to Aldi's. I had a 3 egg omelette with swiss cheese, onions and mushrooms. I would have licked the plate clean if there weren't other people there. We decided to try this place this morning and wow what a pleasant surprise. The inside is so cute and clean !! The staff was wonderful better then I think we've ever had anywhere else. We go the skillets they recommended and boy were they good. Food is exceptional and very reasonably priced $23 for two of us to eat. Really great food, they also are very good about letting you customize your order. The place has a nice vibe, everyone is very nice. Sometimes they're a little under staffed. Though the waitresses still are as attentive and polite as possible. The food is very consistent and always tasty. They have a decent parking area, and are conveniently located. This place is good, decent breakfast if you're looking for a classic greasy or sweet start to the day. It gains a star due to being one of the best choices around, if it were in a location where there were more excellent small business breakfast spots, this one might not shine as much. The skillets are good, but I wouldn't say they're worth 9$. My biggest qualm with the establishment is they're a breakfast spot that isn't amazing at preparing eggs. I requested poached eggs on my skillet, it said eggs any style, but they refused. They can't do poached eggs!? If you're going into business where a main food item is eggs, but you have a cook that cannot cook one of the traditional & popular preparations of said item, I find that a little silly and lame. Then, when I got my over easy eggs, one yolk was cooked through - eggs, definitely not a strong suit. I don't want to end on a negative note, so here's a few positives: the service was fast, they were willing to make accommodations/changes on an order, and the home fries were savory and crispy. I came here on a weekday morning with my dad around 9. If was really good! It's a tiny place but very cute! The waitress we had was wicked sweet and very attentive. We both got coffee which was good and I got a breakfast sandwich with egg, ham, and cheese on bagel with a side of home fries. This is my go to choice when I go out to breakfast and there's did not disappoint! The home fries also were great with some spices added in. My dad got the French toast and a side of home fries and he said his was great too. It looked plain when it first came out but he said it had great flavor! This place is the worst place ever!!! My husband and I live in the area and love to try out different restaurants. Not only was the service below average but the food was half cooked. We ordered an omelette and it came out raw/running. When we expressed this to the waiter, she argued that it as just cheese. I definitely know what runny cheese and runny eggs look like. Slow wait to be seated. They run around and ignore the fact you walked in. You stand there waiting while you look at open tables and no one in line being seated. Once you are seated there is no "good morning""sry for the wait""how is your day" no any type of greeting. Then it's a slow process to get your order taken. I have been here twice. The first time my girlfriend had hair in her food, ok so they took it away. The second time we went I decided to try Buffalo tenders. After eating 3/4 of one tender i noticed the inside completely raw, not even close to cooked. Pretend you just bought raw chicken, that's how it was. I told the waitress, she didn't apologize or ask if I wanted something different. She grabbed the plate from me and about 15 min later brought me a new plate of Buffalo tenders. I didn't eat them nor want them, at that point I was turned off by chicken. The bill comes and they charged me for the tenders. I asked the waitress if I should be charged. The manager comes over and says in a degrading tone, "oh honey what's the issue just cut the chicken and make sure it's cooked, go ahead just cut it." After explaining I didn't want chicken after I just ate raw chicken, she tells me that i should've told the waitress I didn't want another plate. Still no apology and she just walks away.
