Amazing eggs Benedict , good home fries. Great portions!! Good service. What more can you ask for.

What a sweet little surprise, tucked away in downtown Middleborough. On the way home from the Cape we swung by for a late breakfast. Scrambled egg tacos, hash brown potatoes and buffalo chicken salad were enjoyed by the two of us. Excellent service and vibes. There are cocktails too.

Great breakfast this morning at Nellie Rose Restaurant. Nothing fancy but outstanding service by Stephanie.... Super friendly . Food was very good too. I had very tasty cheese omelette with tots and a grilled bagel. My wife really enjoyed her egg white omelette and my mother in law liked her scrambled eggs. Coffee was ok but all 3 waitresses were all walking around topping the coffee. Be aware there is only a few parking spots outside the restaurant and most of the parking if on the street. Overall, I would definitely comeback and hope Stephanie is our waitress.

I try coleslaw all the time and this is just the right combo. Not swimming in dressing and not dry. I had a choice of a good variety of sides. Richard had the wimpy burger (huge!) w/crispy fries. Everything here appears to be homemade. A great variety of side dishes, too. Creative specials along w/their regular menu items. They have smaller plate meals, too. Prices reasonable as far as restaurants go these days Saw a lot of breakfast and lunch/dinner food go by and tons of take out orders being picked up. Good amount of parking spaces. Noticed a BBQ building next door, think it is for special parties. It gets crowded here but if you time it right, you will get in. We got here at 11:30. They serve all sorts of drinks, beer, wine along w/the usual diner style ice cream offerings. We will be back.

Comfortable digs, outdoor dining to boot, and extremely welcoming and friendly staff. -- Blueberry Muffin: My wife and I shared a breakfast "appetizer," grilled with butter by default. Would've been nice to have been asked, but not a problem. Mid-range density, with equal amounts of sweetness and butter in the dough, discernible even under the butter from grilling. Not life changing, but solid and satisfying. -- Omelettes: We each got our own, with mine a western and my wife's a build-your-own with assorted vegetables. Both were huge, with the add-ons tucked neatly inside and the egg surfaces, smooth and heaping. Home fries matched this impressive portion and came in uncrisp outside, very soft and fluffy inside, and seasoned but not oniony. Toast was toast, but many varieties to choose from. Coffee refills came regularly, cheerfully, and without the need to ask. Food overall was good-- definitely better than adequate, though with no life changing surprises. Service was outstanding, nailing the 4 overall.

Food is HOT n' FRESH AF. Everything is cooked to order and prices are wicked reasonable and there are specials to be had each day. The staff is VERY efficient and friendly as hell. Menu selection is diverse and best of all has no tree-hugger "healthy option" gluten-free vegan crap. This is serious food for level-three hangry eaters who welcome thunder thighs and kankles. The vibe is great and the wooden construction attenuates sound wicked good and makes it acoustically sensible. My One and I have been going here for quite some time. Whenever I come home to visit, stopping by isn't just an option--it is an absolute requirement. Even though I'm usually only home for about four days at a time, I end up eating there at least twice every single trip. It might sound like a lot, but once you taste it, you completely understand. The combination of their incredible, perfectly seasoned sauce and high-quality cheese creates a flavor profile that no one else can match. Couple that with their fire oven, which churns out an impeccably crispy, perfectly charred crust every single time, and you get pure perfection. They've been consistently serving up unbelievable food since I was a kid, and decades later, they still haven't missed a beat. If you haven't been, you're missing out!

We first wandered in on a cold, rainy afternoon and were immediately charmed by the cozy atmosphere. The service was warm and welcoming, and everywhere we looked, steaming plates of comfort food were making their way to happy diners. The cod Reuben with sweet potato fries was outstanding, and the clam chowder was exceptional. In fact, after trying chowder at six different places during our trip, my husband and I both agreed this was our favorite by far. The shepherd's pie looked incredible as it passed our table, but we'll have to save that for next time. The only real downside is the limited parking, but it's a small trade-off for such a wonderful spot. If you're in the area, don't miss this hidden gem!

Unfortunately, we left pretty confused about where the 4.5 stars are coming from. We were seated quickly, and the staff was genuinely very nice and welcoming. We had a booth, although it was oddly high and uncomfortable for me at 5'3" because my feet could barely reach the ledge. Service was pleasant, but after we ordered, no one really checked in on us. Our table tried quite a bit: the Reuben, classic New England cod, another cod and clam dish, clam chowder, and a pretzel. The clam chowder was probably the highlight. It had good flavor, although I would have loved more actual clams. The wine was mediocre. Unfortunately, the rest of the food was about a 5/10 for us. Nothing was terrible, but most of it was surprisingly bland and just not memorable. My cod and clam dish was especially disappointing. It came with four very large clams, but one was completely closed and should never have made it onto the plate. The cod, potatoes, and other ingredients were sitting in a pool of cream sauce, yet somehow the dish still tasted underseasoned. It felt more like something I could have steamed and put together myself at home for a simple, healthy weeknight dinner rather than something I'd be excited to order at a restaurant. Maybe we caught the kitchen on an off day, because the consistently high ratings made us expect much more. We specifically chose this place based on those reviews instead of going somewhere with a view and slightly lower ratings. In the end, we got neither the view nor particularly good food, which was disappointing. The kind staff and clam chowder were the bright spots, but based on our meal, I personally wouldn't rate the overall experience anywhere near 4.5 stars.
