We came for breakfast this morning around 9am. The restaurant was not busy and we were told to sit wherever we wanted. We waited 10 minutes. No one came to our table. Serve staff cleared two tables but never approached us. A party of three arrived and sat at the table next to us. They received menus and gave a drink order. Still no one approached us. We have eaten here for breakfast and lunch in numerous occasions with no problem. I'm not sure why we were not approached. We left without eating because we were never able to get a menu or place an order. Please do better. It will probably be a while before we try to return. We are regular, good customers and enjoy the food but I expect to be taken care of in the order we come in. A fifteen minute wait for a menu is not acceptable when there are only three other tables seated in the restaurant. read more

Service at the table was excellent with the exception of the hostess at checkout. The food here is generally good, and arrived quickly even though they were quite busy. My wife enjoyed the meatloaf and all the sides were good. I don't typically go to this type of restaurant for a steak, but the menu listed a ribeye steak with this description: "Sterling Silver Beef Sourced from Midwest USA and aged to a minimum of 28 days for optimum flavor and tenderness." Its price was listed as Market Price and I never bothered to ask until checkout. Turned out it was $28+ for what I believe was an 8oz steak, maybe only 6oz. Though surprised, I wouldn't have cared if it had been a good steak - which it wasn't. THE GOOD: The steak looked good on the plate, was hot, cooked as ordered (medium). The very first bite was flavorful, tender & juicy. After that, it was all downhill. THE BAD: A majority of the steak was loaded with tough gristle. Not marbleized fat, but unchewable grisle. While I was able to separate out small pieces of decent steak, I left half the meat on the plate, and embarrassingly had to spit out quite a few rubbery chunks. The steak seemed utility- grade, and I've had better at Waffle House for less than $15. I mentioned my disappointment to the checkout lady who indifferently stated that I should have told my waiter, who herself never asked how the steak was. I would recommend this restaurant generally, and for most things on the menu, just not the overpriced, grisly steak. read more

Such a cute place. Very clean, nice decor, and friendly people! The only gripes I have are with the food itself. The chicken tenders were tasty, but needed seasoning. Same with the fries, except they REALLY needed some salt and pepper love. My partner had the fried pork chop with mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Her pork was good, but the potatoes tasted sour and the mac was slightly watery. The chocolate milkshake was good but needed more chocolate flavor. Overall, everything needed to be hit with some seasoning and flavor, but very good regardless. We will be returning! read more

We came by after passing by a few times. We came in wearing mask to find all but our waitress wearing a mask. Tables are marked for social distancing. We also had a few flies flying around. We had sweet tea and water brought fairly quickly. We ordered the Cheddar cheese burger and the club sandwich. We were surprised when asked, Would you like fresh cut or frozen french fries. We went with fresh cut. The cheeseburger had a lot of cheddar cheese and was cooked well. The taste was good. The club was good but not exceptional. The women's bathroom was clean and smelled like bleach so we were happy with that. Overall it was a true diner experience. read more

Finally made it to this place. My wife had been a few times we went for lunch. Had one of the "award winning" burgers. It was fabulous. Feels an old diner in a good way. Clean and well maintained. So good I was looking forward to finishing my wife's because she never eats all of her food. To my surprise she smashed hers also. We will be back. I have had Our Place on my list of places to try for a while now. The place is eye-catching because of the half pink lovebug shoved into the ground in front of the restaurant. Plus, the huge sign that says burger and shakes catches my eyes. I was expecting a leg-end-ary burger since they have a burger voted best in Alabama or was a finalist. But for me, it turned out to be more myth than legend. I ordered the Big Bopper, a half pound patty with bacon, onion rings, and two kinds of cheese. The burger was cooked fresh. It was a homemade patty too. I think it was a little too salty for me. I also think it needed some kind of creamy sauce added to it. I added mustard and ketchup to mine and I feel sort of responsible that I ruined it with the tartness of the mustard. I don't really like regular mayo but it would have been more serviceable here. I think a BBQ sauce would have been a good choice here as well. They did have a homemade sauce called Dragon Sauce. I couldn't tell what it was. I think it was some kind of mayo with a hint of mustard to be sort of like a chicken finger sauce. It would have been fine on the burger too. In the end, my biggest gripes are the saltiness and lack of sauce. It wasn't bad but disappointing after being considered among the best in Alabama. The onion ring was really good with a black pepper batter. It most likely was made there. The fries were home cut and good. Sweet tea was refreshingly sweet. The waitress tried to tell me the shakes were good but they sounded disappointing. She said they had in the past used chocolate ice cream for the chocolate shake but now uses chocolate syrup with vanilla ice cream. That was all I needed to know about how disappointing a shake would be. I really tore this place down. It isn't as bad as I have made it but it was a major disappointment for me. read more

The worst food. Patty melt was so burnt and old shoved into the driest oldest bread that I actually took it off my burger and beat it against my plate. Onions were cold and old. Bacon cooked to death. When I tried to eat the burger it cut my mouth and just fell apart it was all so old and dry. Food also took forever. Really who eats at this place? Clearly I did not opt for the "free ice cream with 5 star review." Shockingly (sarcasm) this restaurant has tons of reviews compared to other restaurants in the area. I've tried this restaurant a couple of times. Word on the base is it's not very great but I disagree. I think this restaurant is okay. During my last visit, I ordered a Philly cheesesteak omelette which I really enjoyed. My husband hated his omelette. During my second visit, I ordered a chocolate milkshake, a cheeseburger, and the homemade fries. The chocolate milkshake was tasty but it was icy. For some reason I imagined it would have whipped cream and a cherry or some other appealing decoration. Oh well, not the end of the world! I thought the burger bun was tasty but the patty was also dry. I thought it was odd that you get the option of frozen fries or house cut fries. Why would that even be an option? Why not just make good homemade fries for everyone? But I digress... the fries were soggy anyway. I just wasn't very impressed. The service was okay and the tables were dirty when we arrived. We had trouble finding a table without crumbs or trash on it. The tables were cleared of dishes but it looked like they were never wiped down. They came and wiped it down once we sat but why not clean as you go? A party of 9 (2 tables) left and for at least 20 minutes, their dirty dishes and trash just sat there. It was not very busy and kind of gross. While I think that free food/discounts are a clever way to drum up business, it is very misleading to people counting on good food with good reviews and I don't think it is a long-term viable business strategy. This is one of our favorite places to come and today was a huge let down! I ordered the rueben with an over easy egg on it and mac&cheese. Well... had to search to find any corned beef in the sandwich and what I did find was dried out and old! Sandwich was served dry, no 1000 island dressing on it at all and the egg was so over cooked it tasted boiled! The mac&cheese was barely warm. My partner ordered the all meat omelet and was disappointed also. It was really all crumbled sausage, a few pieces of ham, and one tiny piece of bacon. Now I could have overlooked some of this if service had been at its normal high standard, but alas the service was super poor! Took me nearly 15 minutes to get our servers attention just to get 1000 island dressing and a water! I just was so disappointed after so many good experiences! read more

We are newer to the area and decided to give this place a try. It had tons of great reviews. We were less than impressed. Don't get me wrong it wasn't terrible. The place was pretty clean and wait staff was friendly. The food was meh. Not much flavor and just not what we were expecting with such high ratings. My husband noticed on the bottom of the menu they offer free ice cream for 5 star reviews so it all makes sense now. I'll take one for the team and forgo the sweet treat to put a real review down. I am a previous restaurant manager of a JW Marriott. We had a reservation for 16 at 7am. We ordered our food at 720 after drinks came out. Another large party that "didn't have a reservation" of 15ish came in at the same time we ordered. Our food order wasn't put in until after them and the workers there just said sorry their order got put in front of ours. Terrible service and how they handled their mistake. We ended up getting our food at 800-830 after the last plate. The breakfast food was nothing special and super greasy. I would not recommend them for breakfast. Be careful booking any large parties here, they have terrible restaurant management skills and don't know how to staff for large parties. There was 2 servers and 2 cooks that I saw.
