I have a group of friends and we meet several times a year to catch up and celebrate Holidays. We needed room to mix and mingle and found Our Place the location is so convenient for everyone. The room is modern cozy and so roomy for people to move around. We had a wonderful brunch buffet with salmon stuffed with crab, house salad, brisket, corn bread, fire roasted veggies and rice pilaf. The food was so delicious! The event coordinator was very attentive and made sure everything was perfect . We loved it so much we booked immediately with them for our next gathering. Hello Today is time I have been to QP since the business being having Buffet Brunch. So I asked at the gentleman at what on the Brunch Menu he says everything as before grits, oxtails..etc ok..but he fail to say until its gone..he says its all u can Eat am like OK..I pay my moolah and there's no Oxtails. So I asked the waitress and she says those are the first to go. .. And no more will be coming out ..I was disappointed..soo the proceed to lift the lids. The eggs were dried out, the chicken was dried out, the waffles were were a soggy mess..so I ended up eating a scoop of grits...the bacon was sitting in grease i tried but it was a greasy salty mess. So I paid $45 for a scoop of grits and and spoon of shrimp Brunch here at QP was not it. read more

I have used this venue for homecoming dances for four years. They are very responsive and accommodating. I have had nothing but great experiences and the price is much better than similar venues, which is definitely a highlight when attempting to make an event affordable for all students. read more

I happened to stumble upon "OUR PLACE" while walking in Old Sacramento. They're in the alley next to The BackDoor. It's a little courtyard with a gate. It's very nice for lunch. I am completely alone in the courtyard which is how I like it. They are phasing out their restaurant at the end of the month so get here and try their vegan dishes while you still can. They are an event space and they also do vegan catering. They have dinner series every month and I was told they had a vegan series a few months back. They still have food stock but not so much as they are phasing out their restaurant. I ordered the cauliflower stek with salad. If someone asked me a recommendation for a semi-fancy restaurant, I'd give them this place. they're open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday next week and that's it. They're open until 8 pm but not tonight since they have an event. Check them out next week--it'll be your only chance. read more

I went for the R&B Brunch. The food was good. All you can eat brunch buffet was $48 w lots of options. However no drinks were included. I believe the bottomless mimosas were falsely advertised. As well as the oxtails listed as if they were apart of the buffet. I was surprised there were children there I was under the impression it was a 21+ event for some reason. Went to the R&B Brunch on the first Sunday of the month and it was good vibes and a great DJ. The food was good for buffet style. They had waffles, eggs, potatoes, fried chicken, fried fish, bacon, sausage, grits and shrimp, and some kind of pastry. They also had crab cakes, oxtail, and avocado toast that you could order that was free but not in the actual buffet. You have to order it with your waiter they said because they want to bring it out fresh and not just have it sitting at the buffet table. The mimosa were good I recommend doing the mimosa where the bartenders pour it is a lot better than the $75 mimosa tower you can purchase. The bottomless mimosa are $35 and they give you a wristband. The buffet is $45. Overall, I would say it's worth it. The only reason why I didn't give them five stars is because the line for the bottomless mimosas took kinda long and also they only have two single restrooms and it takes a really long time to be able to use the bathroom. Mother's Day brunch was beyond my expectations! I was pleasantly surprised, the atmosphere was great. My breakfast was delicious french toast with bananas, vegetarian quiche, bacon or sausage, potatoes, and grits with shrimp. There was no need for additional seasoning- the food was right on point. I got some food to go and had the BEST meal!! The ribs were fall off the bone tender with a lovely flavor. The Mac n cheese was good, but the sweet potatoes were the best I've ever had!! I picked up dinner here tonight - the staff is super friendly and helpful. I was told that soon they will be extending their hours to open for lunch as well. The space was a little difficult to find because it's in the alley. It is a lovely venue, with a shaded brick patio and spacious interior. Both times I was there was at the end of the day, so it was fairly empty...I'm not sure if many people realize it's a restaurant as well as an event location. I would suggest putting some signage near the front of the alley and a menu outside, and possibly pipe some quiet music to the patio, because some people (like myself) may be hesitant to enter if they're not sure it's open to the public. There is a "we're open" sign, but since you have to pass through the large courtyard first, it is a bit intimidating to explore. There is also a small room to the right of the courtyard that is now also open for service. There appears to be small bars in both the main space and small room. I was greeted quickly and helped right away, offered water while I waited - lovely service. The chef came out to deliver my boxes, and while a little taciturn, he seemed nice as well. I got one plate with ribs, Mac & cheese, and green beans with (I think) bacon, and a second with tritip, fries, and the same green beans. It was all delicious - I particularly loved the ribs, which fell apart as I was eating them, and the green beans. I do recommend trying it out. Although this venue is nice to look at, the amenities and customer service were horrible. I came for a public event with a group of 5 women. This venue only has one bathroom with ONE toilet, and this event had hundreds of attendees. The bathroom line was 45 minutes to an hour each time. My group ended up squatting outside in a parking lot to pee the first time we attempted that line. Towards the end of the evening, my group of 5 ladies stood in line again and we all went into the bathroom together, using the toilet one right after another. The other women in line started banging on the door saying "get out, we have to pee". Once we were finished, I opened the door and the owner (male) was standing there, yelling and cursing at us to get the f*ck out". He swung the door wide open and continued to yell at us. I told him there are 5 of us and only one toilet, he said "I don't give a f*ck, y'all gotta go." When I tried to reason with him, he said "you know what, it's good. CALL SECURITY!" I was completely baffled by his behavior and the need to be this aggressive! We were simply using the bathroom and nobody was being rude or doing anything wrong! I have never in my life been treated this way. I'm highly disappointed in his behavior. We were embarrassed and left the event immediately, missing the musical entertainment performance of the night, which was the reason we came and paid money to see. When I first arrived at Our Place, I was excited to find a nice place for people my age to hang out and planned to come back again more often. Now, I just don't think I can see myself returning or recommending this place. read more

Incredible venue for all your event and catering needs!! My husband and I just got married here last weekend and Maya and her staff went above and beyond to make our day perfect! Our ceremony and reception were both outside in the courtyard and it was absolutely stunning. The lush greenery paired with the brick and historic buildings made for a picturesque setting for our big day, and it only got more gorgeous as the sun went down and the lights went up! We went with their taco bar option for our catered dinner and their vendor, Sandra, knocked it out of the park. We are still getting compliments from guests about the incredible food! We also got lots of compliments about the wonderful bartender! Maya and her team are absolutely phenomenal and were ready to help at every turn, I can't even begin to express our gratitude to them. I was very excited about attending the Mother's Day Brunch hosted by this venue, unfortunately our entire group left dissatisfied and in need of a meal. It's a beautiful venue, but there was so much confusion about where people would sit, our group had a full table, actually 2! Our other family members were seated inside, while we were outside. The food was lukewarm and not tasty.. half baked quiche. Additionally they offered no bussing of tables, we had to take our half eaten plates to a nearby trash can ourselves. I'm not sure if this is standard practice at this venue, but for Mother's Day, there could have been some young people brought in to assist and also to fill water glasses that were on the tables, obviously for decoration purposes, the tables were decorated very nicely, that's the one good thing about the event. Finally, if you are going to set up outside serving areas, please dust the area for cobwebs.. I really want to like this venue, I'll give another try in the future, maybe this was an off day.. read more

We spent over $2000 to rent this space for 4 hours(cleaning included in time), they provided nothing but tables and linen. The night of the event they stated because we didn't go with their caterer they was charging an additional $500 for bringing "outside food" that they demanded be paid asap. Not to forget we shared our "outside food" with some of the staff. They state that they specialize in making their clients feel important but that is not true because 15 mins before our time was ending their staff was standing up in a line facing the door as if they wanted us to hurry up and leave which made us feel very uncomfortable. They come off very money hungry and not supportive. For the amount they charged I was very underwhelmed with their service. I wish we would of had this special event somewhere else. Our place can do a lot better. read more

I got married on 5/13/2023 to the love of my life. I cannot be happier with our decision to go with Our Place and to hire Maya as our wedding planner. She went above and beyond to ensure everything leading up to and on our special day was as stress-free as possible and we got to be in the moment and enjoy. Her professionalism and responsiveness were outstanding, highly calming, and helpful during this time. No matter when or what time I would text or email her, she always got back to me and took care of all my concerns. My wedding was just gorgeous. Our Place exceeded our expectations on services, and OMG, the food was beyond this world. Chef D is the real deal. I got so many compliments on the food that people were licking their plates, LOL. No impressed. No one knew what their role was. A lady said she was our server and would be back to take our order. There were only 2 tables at this point. 20 minutes later no one is helping us. I wave her down and she says "I'm not your server" what? Another lady comes from the back and begins to take our order. She stops because system is down. We wait about another 20 minutes and she comes back apologizing. Takes our order- she was very sweet. I ask for coffee- NO COFFEE! Wait, for a brunch you don't have coffee?? That's when it really goes downhill. Order comes out incorrect. Another 30 minutes pass without food- we did order a 4 flight mimosa for $24 which was good but the male bartender was completely clueless and the lady bartender who was amazing tried helping him. That took about 20 minutes for 4 small mimosas. We get the food- mediocre at best. Now, the bill. System is down again. Choas is the best word to describe this place. People are taking money at the door others are confused about how and where to order drinks. I don't recommend! The outside is so pretty so why not set up the outside?? Oh and the DJ was good but Way Too Loud for a morning brunch! read more

Hands down the BEST soul food in Sacramento! We tried it today and let me tell you we were not disappointed!! The 3 cheese Mac n cheese was creamy and full of flavor!!! I also had the collard greens with the smoked turkey which was also full of great flavor...my mouth is watering for more right now!! My ladies and I went to this place to celebrate a bday event! When we got there which was early we inquired on the type of event the set up etc... we spoke to the host and lead by her direction. While being a business owner myself i immediately went to support the small black business I noticed around and we went to support the kitchen as well. We sat at one table and was advised to move, we went then went to another table! The host of the event advised us to grab chairs that were being sent out and the tall tables we were okay with. When asking for a chair a lady again asked us to move, when we asked for the chair as instructed the lady begin to say I don't want them there and declined our chairs. She was soooo rude I went to ask check in who could I speak to because what they advised was not what was happening and since we walked in this lady was rude. They then begin to get us the host has we were speaking to her Maya I believe her name was... the rude lady walks up and childishly said I'm rude I'm rude at the entrance cutting me off. Then begin to go on saying she was the owner and we could leave because she clearly was not giving us chairs. She was so rude made the visit so unpleasant we no longer felt comfortable after she destroyed the atmosphere for us! I can not believe an owner would provoke such behavior at the entrance of an establishment the host the door people and every person there besides the overly stressed hot owner had better customer service than she had I'm so disappointed in this business and the disaster of the day this owner caused! This is not the business owner I will no longer support such at a disbelief given I am a business as well and never would treat my customers with no customer service let alone provoke them in any negative manner!
