I purchased a groupon for a 90 minute Bojin Facial with Our Secret Place. It took me a few attempts to make my appointment, partially because their schedule is limited and partially because my schedule is busy. I was so excited when the stars aligned and they were available on a date where I was available. On the day of my appointment, I had a really hard time finding Our Secret Place. It was secretly tucked in a corner. If you struggle to find them. Look for Yoo's Place and they are next door to the left. There is a parking structure nearby that would be the best place to park since the parking spots closer to the spa were limited to 1 hour. When I arrived, the receptionist seemed to know who I was. I must have been their only client that evening. I was further surprised that I didn't have to sign any waivers that you normally do at spas. I was welcomed back to the treatment room and introduced to Angela, my esthetician. Her English seems limited but she was very nice and sweet from our nonverbal interactions. Angela gave me a top to change into for the facial. For those who are unfamiliar with a Bojin facial, it is a Chinese therapeutic technique that massages the face's meridian. I saw that Angela had 3 different jade-looking tools to help her get deep into the meridian points and the muscular fascia. The benefits of a Bojin facial is that it improves the lymphatic drainage, boosts circulation, releases tension, and sculps the face. If you're familiar with gua sha, it's like a gentle relaxing version of gua sha for the face. Angela started off with a cleanse with steam. Wow her massage techniques were sooooo relaxing and soothing. Her hands were so intuitive, and all of the spots she targeted felt like a big relief. It's that amazing feeling during massages where you know your masseuse knows exactly what they're doing. Angela is incredible. I was so relaxed I fell asleep, so sorry if I can't give the full accounts of the experience. When I somewhat woke up, there was still facial massaging and a face mask where she massaged my neck, shoulders, and arms while the face mask was doing its' magic. Then cleansing, moisturizing, serums, the usual. I recommend the Bojin facial for those who want a therapeutic facial massage, with the skin care being secondary. And if you decide to try it, definitely ask for Angela. She's great. I know she also does scalp massages and body massages, so I definitely want to come back to try other services here too. read more

I really really wanted to like this place especially because its location is so convenient for me and booking via text messaging was so easy and seamless! I booked an hour long hair spa experience expecting to be pampered. Instead, I probably got 5 mins at most of the head / shoulder massage. It was a very long shampoo session (without a conditioner!), with a very long brushing ahead of it (some special brush but it didn't feel pampering or overly stimulating either) and a very very long drying session (not even blow dry styling, just literally blowing out my hair with a very not too powerful blow dryer). The girl who was working on me didn't seem experienced, but she was incredibly sweet and lovely! At the end of the session (I couldn't wait for it to be over because it was not spa-like), there was water absolutely everywhere in the floor! Thankfully I didnt slip, but certainly didn't get my vote of confidence. Our Secret Place? Definitely a secret place for employees only if you don't want any customers. I received a gift certificate for Secret Spa from my husband for Mother's Day, and unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of frustrating. Booking an appointment was a challenge from the start. Despite multiple attempts, I could never get through on the phone, nor did I receive any call-backs. After a lot of persistence, I finally managed to book an appointment on a day I had off from work. However, just two days before my scheduled appointment, I received a text saying it had been canceled due to a leak and that they were moving locations. I was told I'd be contacted once they were ready to re-open. Weeks passed without any updates, and then, out of the blue, I got another text notifying me of a new appointment--less than 24 hours in advance. No call to confirm, no consideration for my schedule. Given that the appointment was on a random weekday morning when I was working, I had to cancel it. A few weeks ago, I tried again to make an appointment, hoping my schedule would align. I called twice a day for three days straight and received no answer or call-back. I also tried texting the number that had reached out about my previous appointment, and I finally got a response the next day, directing me to call a random number--not listed on their website or social media pages. From my experience, and based on other reviews, it seems clear that this place doesn't prioritize its customers. It's a shame, because I really wanted to enjoy the gift my husband gave me. But it feels like if a business is on Groupon, it's often for a reason. I highly suggest you look elsewhere for your spa needs. read more

I had a same-day massage appointment due to a late cancellation, and I was pleasantly surprised by the welcoming reception and the smooth appointment process. However, there was a minor issue with the phone number on their website, which caused some confusion. Fortunately, the person who held the number provided me with the correct one. I've had several massages before, but this experience was uncomfortable for two reasons. First, the massage therapist played soothing music on her phone, but she didn't put it on airplane mode. Throughout the 90-minute massage, she kept getting notifications, which caused the music to stop and her phone to ding. This disrupted my relaxation and made me anxious. Due to the language barrier and my desire to be polite, I couldn't ask her to stop. Second, I prefer wearing spandex during massages, and I've never had any issues with it. Typically, the massage therapist would ask if they could slightly lower the spandex or massage on top of it. This is a clear boundary that a client has a right to, and it should not be crossed without permission. However, my massage therapist, Angela, pulled my shorts down halfway while massaging both my front and back without asking or saying anything. I received a Groupon as a gift. I was very excited to receive this gift as I have been looking forward to a scalp detox. Unfortunately, there is only one person that can provide the service so I was unable to book with my friend. In addition, my appointment was at 11, and I didn't get seen until after 11:20. I had to be somewhere so I was pressed for time which I did mention to them. However, due to the fact that I was in a hurry, I think my treatment was rushed, and when I was all done, I checked my watch and it had only been 45 minutes. So I didn't receive my entire treatment, which was 60 minutes. I was in a rush and already irritated. I did tip her $20 because I'm sure she works on tips and she was a nice lady. However, I am deeply saddened that this was the service I received and it was not at all what I expected. read more

Would not recommend their hair spa; it's kind of a chaotic experience - there were a lot of clanging noises, not to mention they just use Pantene products so you're basically just getting your hair washed with cheaper products. The waterfall portion was barely used. I also just had to sit at the edge of the massage table with a towel over my bare upper body while the person was blow drying my hair. I have been here almost for 5 years. I've been a loyal client of Our Secret Place for five years, and I can confidently say they offer the best massage and facial services in Irvine. I've tried the Fotona laser treatments for my face, jawline, and eyes. While there is a bit of discomfort during the laser procedure, it's totally manageable--and absolutely worth it for the results. The nurses and front desk staff all speak English and are incredibly kind and professional. At first, I noticed a unique smell in the spa and later learned it was from moxibustion. It's used during massages to help reduce body pain, and it honestly feels magical. That's part of what makes this place so special. I always leave a good tip for my massage and facial sessions because the service is just that good. I kept seeing the hair scalp massages and was excited to find the Groupon to try the experience.. I was pretty disappointed in the whole thing to be honest.. it was nothing special, the scalp massage was done with a plastic tool that literally hurt me the whole time, leaving my scalp extremely sore the next day. No neck or shoulder massage as listed in the description which was a major let down. My hair is long and curly, she YANKED through it with her little comb, ripping tons of hair out. She left it in knots and tangles, blow dryed it in that state so I was left with a huge mess to deal with when I got home. Would have rather saved the money! 100% not worth it :/ read more

I went in for the 4D laser lip treatment. I had blisters on my lips and a burn between my lip and nose within a few days. They responded saying that they told me that this could happen but they didn't say anything or give me any paperwork that said such. It's now been two weeks since I've had this treatment and I still have one blister left. They made it out that I was difficult but I didn't complain when it hurt. I would never go back there. They don't take calls and makes me contact them through text messages. I would sue them but I don't think I could find an attorney to take the case. Bottom line is that there are so many places to choose from to get your beauty where you want it. Don't go to a place where the reviews are not good. Good luck! I think I just found my secret place nestled in the heart of Irvine. This will be my go to place from now on, I was so happy that I ended up getting a package for massage/facial.. The massage therapist Sisi was so on point with my treatment and just the right amount of strong and firm pressure as I like it but often can't find. And I love how she really focuses on my tight neck and shoulders as I have shared from before the treatment began but not forgetting to also carefully assess all the areas that I have tensions and address them properly. I sent my daughter (21) to have a back facial that she asked as a christmas present. Although she said the treatment was fine, the smell in the place was not. She said the whole place smelled like cigarettes and in fact she came home full of cigarette smell on her hair and clothes. What kind of "spa".has smoking going on inside their location? The massage was great and the massage therapist was very nice, they also accommodated a last minute appointment and my groupon, which was great. The only thing is that the bathroom and massage room smelled like cigarette smoke and even a little bit like weed. It was gross to smell that for an hour while trying to relax and get a massage. The room was very stuffy and felt like the smoke was in my chest by the end of the massage. I also left the place with my hair and clothes smelling like cigarette smoke. Very unwelcoming. Edit: I obviously did not know that the cigarette smell was from moxibustion and was not notified about it before my massage by the employees. If you look up online, there are some harmful side effects to moxibustion. I would have preferred to not have that in the room I was getting my massage in. I realize some people may like it, but considering the side effects I think the employees should warn clients about it before. read more

Amazing staff and skin care spa in this area. The staff is so nice and made me feel very comfortable and explained everything in detail. It's my first time to do a medical treatment during my life. They discussed my skin care goals with me and we picked a treatment which is called Thermage that will achieve those goals. Finally getting the discoloration on my leg removed, this was the first trial and will be posting on my second. The discoloration was due from a bug bite then later from scratching it left me a terrible mark. The first trial was done on Nov 3rd then you gotta wait about three weeks to have your second treatment if you need it. The laser they used was call Piqo4 pronounce (pickle) lol.
