An absolute gem for authentic Indian food in Bellingham…read more Went for dinner on 8/19 - walking in we noticed all around great vibes, from the smells to the ambience to the Bollywood music and videos playing. It's clear thought and care has been put into the experience here. We were seated immediately by the friendly host/server. We ordered the recommended Gobi 65 cauliflower appetizer, garlic naan, our standard Butter Chicken, and the house specialty Chicken Chettinad (all medium spicy on the 3-point scale we were offered). Everything was absolutely delicious. The Gobi 65 was pretty spicy relative to the other dishes but still soooo good. To our surprise the Chicken Chettinad was the standout dish and one we'd highly recommend (and would order every time we return). Excellent experience overall and a place we'll definitely include in the local rotation. Highly recommend!

The garlic naan was store bought, cold, and with a quick brush with ghee and a little garlic. The naan were probably store bought. The saamosas were good. My delivery omitted the mango lassi. For $60 I expect far far better than this. No one would dare serve food this bad in India.

The foods we've had were all very good with juicy, moist and flavourful chicken. The Tandoori Chicken and Tikka were surprisingly very good. The Garlic Naan is so far the best Naan Bread we've ever had. It's just so fluffy, gooey and the garlic butter flavour was so good. And OMG, their Cheesecake is heaven! The best cheesecake in town for sure. This place is a must visit and highly recommended to try.

We were greeted by an enthusiastic hostess who was eager to get us checked in and seated. She was friendly, knowledgeable and clearly enjoys working at GM. She checked in often and delivered us some amazing eats. Tonight we dined on vegetable pakoras (a must order item) and the Tour of India (Vegetarian) platter. We also enjoyed a delicious and welcoming pot of chai tea. The Tour of India (Vegetarian) features alu gobi, mutter paneer, lentil daal, rice pilau, mint chutney, pickled carrots, raita and served with a piece of naan bread. Ordered it medium-hot which was the perfect balance of flavourful but with a spicy kick. I would easily order this platter to share again as it was a nice sample of a variety of dishes and was easy to share with another person. I am never disappointed when I dine in or pick up from GM as this restaurant serves quality food for an affordable price. This is by far one of my favourite restaurants in Maple Ridge. The menu offers a lot of variety so there's plenty of options to change things up and never get bored. I cannot rate this restaurant high enough.

I'd read about this new place in the Whidbey Times, and am glad I did because it's extra special…read more I'm a longtime fan of Indian cuisine, but have never had food from the far south, in Kerala (actually, I hadn't heard of Kerala until tonight). Delicious. It's tiny and takeout only, but good things come in small packages, and this is proof. The owner/chef, "Unni," went out of his way to explain the ingredients, history, and culture, while providing tasty samples of everything. He clearly takes pride in what he does, and I'll be coming back a LOT. I don't know if they're there all the time, but his two delightful children were playing while I waited, and once they got over their shyness, they couldn't have been more entertaining. They insisted on pasting stickers on their dad's face, which he wore proudly. Lots of fun. Fortunately for me, Unni serves many meat dishes (beef, pork, chicken) in addition to vegetarian fare, so there's something for everyone. They even offer three kinds of rice! I see some complaints about the food being bland, but that wasn't my experience...quite the opposite. Lots of intriguing spices! Check it out yourself. Oak Harbor needs places like this!

As per the descriptions I read of this, the spices are subtle and mild unless you ask for extra heat. Which suites my taste. The vegetarian curry had a variety of vegetables and spices + choice of 3 vegetable dishes. My carrot, broccoli and beet choices were each special subtle and full flavors. Came with a mango yogurt and chutney and a crunchy garnish too. I upgraded my rice to Chamba which has a more interesting flavor and texture and I also ordered Raita extra because I love this tangy veggie-herb yogurt side. It all hit the spot and I would go back again next time I'm in the area. The container has to be handled carefully since two of the dishes were quite soupy but you could also order a sturdier cup in a larger serving. The owner was super friendly and also offered me little tastes of a couple other dishes while I decided. (It was a non busy early afternoon time) These include a couple meat options also available and were very good also. Easy parking, on north end of the town.
