A lovely little mom-and-pop shop that truly feels like you've stepped into the old West (think Oregon Trail vibes). They carry a bit of everything -- dog leashes, horse tack, horseshoes, small groceries, local honey and jam, even deli lunches and fry bread. And yes, a ton of Thrifty ice cream (my husband teases me, but I love that brand). The inside has an old-fashioned feel but is always clean, and I've never had an issue with customer service. I have went to this country store a few times over the years and I think it's a Damn nice store! I'm no farmer or horse owner but they have Ice cold beer, ice for your cooler, and thrifty ice cream! Also, sandwiches and drinks and all kinds of different snacks and candy. I think this place is pretty cool and would stop in here anytime!!! We arrived at 6:59 to get a couple gallons of ice cream that would have took maybe 3-5 mins to grab and pay. There was a young gentleman at the door letting customers out and as we were getting off the car he turned the open light off and closed the door as we walked up to the front door. I let him know we'd be quick but he nodded his head and turned around. Not greatest customer service. I first tried this place back in 2020 when I lived over in Waddell. One of the cutest stores ever. I loved going here. Their ice cream and sandwiches are PHENOMENAL! They have stuff for ranchers and farmers. There's a mail carrier across the street. I think sometimes they have the coffee truck outside available. Not sure since I haven't been in a while. I will have to take some photos next time I go! The service is very friendly. The atmosphere is just amazing! Can't wait to get some more ice cream next time I'm back. I stopped by here this past Sunday with my wife for and her parents for what ended up being a morning snack. We were on our way to Lake Pleasant for the day whenever I consulted Yelp for a coffee place on our way off the 303. Java Trolley came up and looked cute and so we took the exit and headed on over. The Trolley sits next to the Out West General Store and since we were there we wandered in and took a look around. They had your usual general store stuff and a number of different pantry items and then some beer and other drinks. What made this general store different than others is that they also had a ton of horse stuff (think saddles and grooming equipment) as well as a ton of auto equipment, none of which I expected. They also had a bunch of what I considered to be unusual items on their menu and after looking it over I went ahead and ordered a bbq chicken fry bread. After paying for it I got a ticket and hung out for 10 minutes waiting for my food to be ready. This store had a surprising amount of traffic in it during that time and whenever my food was ready I sat down at one of the tables to eat it. As you can imagine, a BBQ chicken flatbread can be quite messy, especially if trying to eat it without any silverware. Still, it ended up being quite good and I am glad that I ordered it. The fry bread itself was nicely fried and had a crisp exterior. If you tasted it on its own, it had a tiny bit of sweetness, which I enjoyed. It also provided a good vehicle for the BBQ chicken which had a nice sauce to it but was also a bit dry. Since they weren't making the chicken fresh, that's to be expected but I still thought that I would mention it. Other than that, I enjoyed my snack here and both my wife and mother in law did as well. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My fry bread was good and I would be interested in trying some of their other menu items as well as the chicken and cheese fry bread. read more

This is usually my favorite place to stop after going to the White Tank Mountain Regional Park. I usually stop there and get Indian Fry Bread to go and it's usually made right but today when I got home it wasn't made correctly, it was still doughy and not thoroughly cooked all the way. This place is horrible. Ever since Bill sold his store its been going down hill. Customer service is horrible and young inexperienced teenagers with absolutely no work experience or customer service skills pretty much run the place and the entire Vibe is pretty bad. This is a local General Store that takes care of the locals! Drive by this place all the time, wished I have stopped by a long time ago! What an awesome place! They just don't make these anymore!! I haven't been there much since the Pandemic started. Went in today and Not one employee was wearing a mask. At 10:55 AM a man who appeared drunk started giving me grief about my mask and standing back from him in line. He wasn't ugly or nasty... just real drunk. "I'm not going to get you sick! I served in Vietnam!" In the past I always liked the store and the employees were usually friendly. Walmart's employees are all wearing masks and social distancing is encouraged. I'll keep going to a little more trouble and shop where safety of both employees and customers is encouraged. read more

Not sure how I've never noticed this cute little store was here until today when I was out on a hunt for the new snacks Trolley location. I decided to go inside after my coffee to check it out. First impression was great. The front porch entering the location was cute and inviting. Once inside I was surprised to see so many people. We decided to get some drinks and get some more firewood for later tonight. While inside I noticed there is also a small cafe with both inside and outside seating options. Best part for me was they also sell Thrifty ice cream so now we have to come back. Who doesn't love black cherry? The only issue I had was at the register where I was accidentally charged over $30 for two things of firewood and two drinks. I was quickly refunded and charged the correct amount. Great service and she did apologize for the error. We all make mistakes. It's all how you deal with them . read more

We love this general store ! The staff are always super nice and friendly. The locals who shop here are welcoming as well. I'm surprised I've never wrote a review before. We come from California to visit my niece who lives in the area. We always stop in at least once. It's fun to check out stuff you basically don't really need since we don't have a horse but they also have other specialty items. They also have basic staples you may need and of course cold beer and wine. The ice cream is always a hit too!! We've met the owners during one visit and they are very nice as well. Their sandwiches are very good! My only suggestion is to actually put the mayonnaise and mustard on the bread and not just squirt down the middle of the sandwich, it makes the bread taste too dry the way it's done. I get it's a quicker way but show some love with the presentation is all I'm saying. There's not too many places around like this so you definitely need to check it out and support local small businesses. read more

I live 5 minutes from here and every time I wish I spent the 10 minutes to drive to Frys grocery store every single time. This mom and pop shop loves to treat me like crap every single time I come in. I'm a great customer, I'm nice, (I spend a lot here per month and enjoy hosting gatherings with lots of beer lol). They are so close I would love to go to them every time and be happy that I did; but apparently that is impossible. It doesn't matter who runs the cash register they all treat you the same, rude. If you need a saddle and can't go anywhere else maybe go there, but when it comes to giving them your business because they're close by, go elsewhere. Even after 50 times of repeat business, they'll still treat you the same. Have never ordered food because of the customer service as well. read more

They have quite a bit of random stuff here. I guess from what I understand that are really well known for their homemade ice cream. I tried some, and it was delicious! This is really on only store for miles, so a lot of people take advantage of the convenience of their location rather than driving to a Walmart or grocery store. This store may be convenient, but it's extremely overpriced and not to mention, the older lady that works there is a complete a$$. Not only rude to myself, but my children as well. I continue to be extremely polite, hoping that someday she will reciprocate the kindness. But so far, no good. I was told that she is best friends with the owners. Shame on her!!! We wanted to keep our business local but we will NEVER go here again. My husband and i heard about the ice cream and decided to stop by. We were deciding on flavors while we waited for the woman to finish a little boys order. The woman either hated her job or had the worst day ever because she was super rude to us and messed up the boys order. He took the cone to his dad and said i dont know what this is but i wanted cotton candy the dad walked back up and asked her politely to swap it. She then started slamming things in front of all of us. I was so upset with her behavior that we left. Also, My in-laws went here since it was close and all they needed was milk. Not only do you pay a premium for everything but when they went to use the milk it was expired and curdled....Sooo driving 5-10 minutes into town is a much better option. read more

An excellent place pet and farm supplies. If you have one pet or a herd of goats, donkeys, horses. This is the place. This is the only convenience store in town. And a cool fun place to visit. The owner of this general store makes it a point to carry everything possible.
