We went into this with very high hopes, however those were quickly shattered. I ordered the bush bucket and my wife ordered the grilled ocean platter. The two most expensive items on the menu. The bush bucket had zero seasoning, like it was boiled in just water. The only flavor in the whole thing was the char marks on the lobster tail. Everything else was boiled in plain water. My wife's more expensive grilled ocean platter that was supposed to come with a mahi mahi fillet was served with a tilapia fillet. I can't even begin to describe my disgust. No one deserves this kind of foolery. I'm not going to speculate on if it was incompetence or anything else the fact is that it happened and you should never get a $0.50 tilapia fillet when you ordered mahi mahi. On top of the staff letting something so braindead happen they give you a small cup of unseasoned butter, that taste like movie theater popcorn butter/oil. No flavor to it at all. Don't waste your time or money here, it's a ripoff all the way around and clearly the chefs don't have tastebuds if this is what is coming out of the kitchen. Context note: I am not saying this food was unseasoned to describe taste, I mean the bush bucket food I have videos of and there is not a single speck of any seasoning vissable. I liked my Aussie mixed greens and berry salad with a nice raspberry vinaigrette, and the complimentary Aussie onion was the best blooming onion I've had from anywhere! My dad wasn't a fan of the Aussie Dip sandwich, but then again it's never best to order something the restaurant doesn't specialize in. The server was quick and took care of our needs indefinitely, he even saw the Aussie Onion offer coupon on my phone and brought it without need ask. The restaurant was clean, orderly, and the decor was really fun, overall I think this place is a great spot for a family outing to get a good bite to eat! PS. We visited with a few adults, toddler and baby on a Tuesday night. The service was super fast and attentive; our drinks were filled often and our food came fast but still felt fresh. We got oysters and a fried onion as appetizers which were both delicious. The rolls were hot and tasted great. I got gator bites which honestly taste like a fried pork chop. The portion was huge; I felt bad that I couldn't eat more of it. The kids meal is a good portion for a low price. I would highly recommend; I've been here several times since I was a kid and it always is memorable. read more

Our experience at the Outback in Branson Mo was amazing! It started before even got into the restaurant's door there was a friendly employee setting in the entry walk way who greeted us and said hope we enjoy our meal. Upon opening the door the was an employee saying welcome the the original Outback.So I had to ask what do you mean original Outback he introduced himself as Mike the manager and while personally taking us to our both told the story of how in 1987 this was the first Outback and how it has stayed independently owned and not franchised. It showed by the quality of the food and service we received. We got the Gator bites on sample platter and the fried catfish dinner food was Amazing but the Bloody Cajon Mary was highlight of the night for sure just the right amount of alcohol and after we finished the drink our waiter brought a clean mug to take home a souvenir with Outback logo on it. What can I say? The food was great. The service was great. The restrooms were clean and well-stocked. Our waitress, Kelly, was amazing. She pretty much anticipated our needs before we needed things. She was very friendly and cheerful. It was a nice change from some of the places that we've been this week while visiting Branson. We really appreciate the upbeat and friendly demeanor. The decor is fun and interesting. The whole vibe of the restaurant is very upbeat and unique. We will definitely be back. My only complaint is that the garlic mashed potatoes were a bit on the dry side, but that was easily fixed with a little bit of creamy horseradish. Looking forward to our next visit! Our waitress Kelly was absolutely outstanding and amazing! She is definitely one of a kind! We came in a little before close with our 4 yr old level 3 ASD daughter to eat dinner. She did NOT want to sit down for anything! We were both chasing her around and struggling while being exhausted after a long day at the waterpark. We were hungry and stressed! Kelly was so sweet, understanding, patient, accommodating and truly went above and beyond! The manager came back to check on us and told us to rela, take our time and enjoy our food because we were there after close and another waitress was cleaning up and let our daughter help her. They were all so kind and friendly with her and us. The food was great and service was phenomenal! We will definitely be back. Kelly deserves a raise! The Outback Steak is not part of the chain. In fact, it was the original location. This one remains as the sole proprietorship and his partner left to form the chain restaurant. This is the history I recall from when we visited Branson 20+ years ago. Nicely decorated. The parking lot is tight. The alligator bites were phenomenal. Sadly the mango is now a basic pico and not the marmalade it once was. The Aussie onion was okay with the exception of the outer skin. You're supposed yo take off the inedible skin before battering and frying. My wife ordered the shrimp tacos. Don't do it! She brought a knife to a gun fight on this one. It's an Aussie restaurant after all. My ribeye was just ok. The twice baked potato was dry. The ettofe was ok, but no depth of flavor. I felt like I was at a chain restaurant. read more

Oh I enjoyed here despite having head-to-head food like applebees. the place was so packed and felt good in a overly-welcoming way. we were seated next to the kitchen and there were chalkboards with peoples names! I liked reading out the names, but I'm dissapointed to say I couldn't remember any of the names. Immediately after that, we ordered and were bought bread rolls, which were ultimately delicious. The oysters were also a nice touch with the cheese and vegetables. I'm sad to say I don't like oysters, so I only ate the chees-veggie sauce, but I'm really proud to say this place did well on the condiments and garnishes. for my own food I enjoyed a bit. I'm saddened to say the mashed potatoes were not to my liking. I found it distressing on how they could stick to my fork so easily, which I'm pretty sure mashed potatoes CANNOT do that (unless I'm wrong, that is). I had dinner with a friend there 8/27 . Entering the restaurant the hostess asked if we would mind the bar or outside area,we said the bar would be OK thinking we would be at one of the tables and it was raining outside. Instead we were seated at the bar and the restaurant wasn't busy. We had the bartender as our server ,we were never told her name. We placed our orders and she brought out our salads. We were never offered the rolls that are usually given. Our meals were brought out by other staff. I had the alligator which was way over cooked and in old oil dark brown, no sauces were included . It took about 10 minutes before I could ask the bartender if I could get tarter & cocktail sauce and they were brought out in a couple minutes. No explanation was given why a dipping sauce was supplied. The gator was awful , tough chewy & barely edible with a lot of fried breading crumbs. I should have sent it back. The salad and potato were good. My buddy had the sirloin steak medium rare he said it was really over seasoned and dry no juice came out on to the plate when cut. We were both expecting much better meals . The bartender/server was fine but we were never asked how anything was. We weren't expecting fine dining, but this whole experience could not have been much worse. I don't recommend dining at this restaurant. read more

My wife and I were looking forward to this experience only to be sorely disappointed. We chose the prime rib and found it not edible - tough and full of grissle. The manager brought out new plates but after a couple of bites it too was of the same poor quality. The asparagus was very thin and tough and the twice baked potato was dried out. The manager asked if he could discount our ticket and gave us an insulting 10% discount. We thought this may be the chain of Outbacks, but I don't believe so. The setup wasn't the usually and it had an open grill where the chefs prepared the food. We had a party of 4 and was seated immediately. I checked in on Yelp and received a free Onion Bloosom but wasn't able to redeem the offer in addition to a military discount. The blossom was hot, seasoned, fried to perfection, and served with a great remoulade dipping sauce. The rolls were moist and buttery, and you could taste the delicious yeast! The Alfredo, by far, is a game changer when it comes to quality of ingredients, season, creamy, quantity, and taste! Even if you're not a pasta eater, you would love this Alfredo. Hands down, the chef is making the sauce from scratch! The sausage had a little spicy as well and great quality. The grilled shrimp is next on the list that you by far should order when you visit this gem! They were seasoned so good, Juicy and grilled perfect. This place isn't the normaly Outback and you will be very pleased with the quality of food. read more

Nice to rediscover the original Outback Steak & Oyster Bar, tonight. This is not the chain restaurant. Locally and veteran owned. Had the Mahi mahi and it was delicious. My wife had the ribeye and it was perfectly done. Also the onion appetizer was so good. Not overly done, but done enough to pull apart easily. Will need to go back and try the gator appetizer, shrimp, lobster, wings. I'm not an oyster guy, but there are plenty of great options for them too! read more

I wish I could give a good review but they blew it. My wife and I were seated in a booth in the bar area, we weren't given a choice. It was a little loud. Our server happened to be the shift manager and he failed to tell the waitress what he was doing and there was some miscommunication. The table was a little sticky feeling. We both ordered the Fried Shrimp dinner. My wife had mashed potatoes and I had a twice baked potato. We both had a dinner salad which was good. When the meals came out the shrimp was grilled not fried. The server took them away after telling us he was going to find out what went wrong. We waited for him to come back with an explanation but never did. They later brought out the correct orders and the shrimp and my wife's mashed potatoes were good but my twice baked was cold and inedible. I liked the cocktail sauce but we didn't get very many shrimps. We may have ordered the wrong thing but the whole experience was chaotic and not good overall. I'd say skip them based off what we had and the service. read more

The service was amazing our waitress was Kelly and she was always giving us refills and was funny and cheerful and was some of the best service while we were visiting branson. The ambiance is upbeat and log cabin vibes everywhere with Aussie vibes . The restrooms were extremely clean . Somebody was playing with the restroom lights and it was very annoying . I thought prices were higher than they should be, however based on the location, they are appropriate. A large can of about 8 rolls is delivered to your table with butter. These rolls are some of the best. I ordered the charbroiled chicken breast and I was happy with it. Another ordered the lamp chops which were almost double the price but well worth the money.
