    Chips and homemade queso dip.
    Keith F.

Here's your fully updated and final version -- all your details are now included clearly and naturally, with strong flow and a professional but candid tone perfect for a Google review: 1 out of 5 stars Hidden Pines Restaurant - Hard to Find and Hard to Recommend First off, this place was very hard to find. There's one small sign pointing in the general direction, but after driving down the hill, we didn't see anything else--no follow-up signs or clear markings. We finally discovered it's tucked underneath The Summit restaurant, down a flight of stairs. Not exactly an inviting start. When we walked in around 3 p.m., the restaurant was completely empty--just us. It was dark inside, decorated for Halloween, and didn't feel welcoming. The hostess seated us, but the chairs were uncomfortable, even though the tables looked nice. The silverware looked cheap--like something from a dollar store. We started with queso and chips. The queso was actually very good--nice spice and homemade flavor--but the chips were mostly crumbs, like the bottom of the bag. Strike one. We shared a 14-oz steak and ordered a side salad. The steak arrived first, and when I asked about the salad, the server said she'd bring it. I mentioned salads usually come before the entrée, and she said, "Oh, sometimes we just bring them together." When it finally came, it was bland--just some greens, a little shaved cheese, and a few tomatoes, with no dressing--for $6. To their credit, the steak was excellent: tender, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right. The garlic mashed potatoes and green beans were also very good. Unfortunately, the service didn't come close to matching the food quality. Our water glasses sat empty while the two servers wrapped silverware in napkins and chatted. With no other customers in the restaurant, that's just poor attention. The server spilled water while refilling our glasses and made no attempt to wipe it up, then placed the steak knife right in the puddle. Empty dishes stayed on the table long after we finished, and it took over 10 minutes after that to get the check. Adding to our concerns, I noticed one of the cooks step outside and then come back in still wearing his food-service gloves, using them to open the door. Hopefully, he changed them afterward--but it didn't look good. I honestly don't understand how this place has an average of about 4.5 stars over 500 reviews. The reviews do not line up with our experience--unless there's been a change in management. Overall, the steak deserves 3 1/2 to 4 stars, but everything else rates a 1. For the price, you can easily find better service, atmosphere, and attention to detail elsewhere. Dine at your own risk. Not recommended.

    Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes

I am giving two stars because the service was nice. Also, we had the Thanksgiving feast, so I don't know about their regular menu. I will say when I called to make a reservation, they said they would have limited regular menu items. We got there today, and they said no. Starters: salad was just ok nothing special. Tomato " bisque " was not a bisque. I bet money it was Campbell's tomato soup. Entree: Don't put gravy on the turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing--offer it on the side. Stuffing was Stove Top. Mashed potatoes and turkey were bland even with gravy. Season your food! Ham was ok. Green beans were canned. Deviled eggs were ok. You get two, but one of mine was practically empty. Roll was pre-bought. I read this place was locally-owned, and they sourced food from local farms when possible. If you can't use a farm, at least make homemade food. You advertise that you prep/make your food not just re-heat store bought. Food was way below par. So disappointed.

Pancakes and French toast that both came with eggs, potatoes and bacon!

Came in this morning and ordered the pancakes and french toast and both came with potatoes, eggs and bacon! Love how the pancakes were separated from the eggs, potatoes and bacon (as someone who likes certain foods not touching). I loveddd the potatoes! I prefer these over normal hashbrowns. Bacon wasn't too crispy and wasnt too soft which i find hard for restaurants to do! I usually give my girlfriend the bacon whenever we eat out. We really killed our plates this morning! We really enjoyed our service and environment. Will be coming back (:

If you want to sneak just off the strip for a cool, trendy but relaxing meal, in a locally owned business, I highly recommend Summit Restaurant in Downtown Branson! I wish I had discovered it earlier. They have many, many delicious options but, this morning we went for brunch. Everyone was happy and friendly. Our server, Ellie H, bopped over to our table with a big smile and warm welcome. She answered all of our questions, gave advice on the menu choices and remained attentive during our meal. It was 11am and she informed us that everything on the menu was available to order and made fresh! We ordered the pancake breakfast which came with eggs, crispy hash browns and choice of breakfast meat (I selected bacon, of course!). We received 2 giant, fluffy sweet cream pancakes topped with fresh fruit (syrup on the side), and fluffy scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese (for a small upcharge). The bacon was cooked to perfection, done but chewy, with crisp edges for a satisfying crunch. The coffee was rich and dark and our water was arrived ice-cold, served in a frosty glass. As we left we received a thank you from all of the staff, well wishes for our day and invites to return. This gem will be a new weekly spot for us.

I feel catfished. The pictures online are not what you see. We ate breakfast. Omelet 6/10 pancake 6/10, toast 0/10, biscuits and gravy 5/10, has-browns 2/10 weird taste. This is not a good breakfast place hopefully their dinner is better. Coffee is awful.

Lonnnng wait, but was well worth it. Food is delicious. Flavorful, well-seasoned and beautifully plated. The fries are top notch. I normally wouldn't think much about fries, but theirs are perfectly crisp on outside and cooked perfectly on inside. Tasted kid's burger and was DELICIOUS!!!!

This restaurant is hard to find. We found our selves in the sports bar. The nice bar tender told us where to go. Definitely some signage would help to point us in the right direction. I don't believe they believe in decorating. Blank walls everywhere. Unpainted concrete floor. I had breakfast with two eggs, hash browns, sausage and waffles. It was a disappointment. The waffles were soggy and flavorless. The hash browns were a little greasy. The eggs and sausage were nothing special. I would give this restaurant a two. The wait staff is what gave it a three. They were friendly and professional. Looks like the owners may have forgotten they own a restaurant. Definitely not a good breakfast. My wife said her coffee was good. The food is boring. The owner's response was the best I have ever received from a review. I did not know you were one of the owners. I thought you were the server. If I knew, I would of told you. Since you and your husband are nice people, let me help. I would put a sign on a stand by the front door to the bar that reads "Restaurant this way." Then at the bottom of the steps to the restaurant another that points to the door of the restaurant. If there was a kiosk we missed it because we were looking at the Halloween figures in the storage area. If I owned a restaurant. I would search for the best local products by local providers. Then brag about it on the menu. This egg comes from Linda farms in Reed Springs. I would find the best locally made sausage possible and brag about it on the menu. I can get a store bought egg and Jimmy Dean sausage anywhere. Your restaurant must provide the best locally sourced products that I cannot find in my area. Locally sourced, fresh and flavorful food. This is the only way your restaurant will stand out and thrive. If this was the case, I would not mind the drab, uninspired decor. Because the food is so damn fresh and wonderful. The other restaurants near you are doing the same thing. Please provide the best food possible from local purveyors and brag about it. I want you to succeed. You will not survive providing the same food as everyone else. Thank you for the prompt response. I will visit your restaurant again and order the same meal to see if you have taken on this challenge. One last thing. Fix the M on the restroom sign. It needs help.

    Tomato bisque
    Darren J.

Visited this restaurant on a Friday night at 7 p.m. and was surprised by how empty it was. Really wanted to like the food, however, the salt level and addition of cheese to everything just became a bit off-putting. Highlight of the night was the chicken and waffles. The bisque is rich and good, but again could've done without the cheese. Service was friendly and attentive, with only two tables in the restaurant seated, not sure how it would be on a busy night OK to visit occasionally.

A beautiful place a stones throw from Branson Landing. If you're from Branson, COME OUT AND SUPPORT THESE HARD WORKING AND SUPER NICE FOLKS. The restaurant and club are clearly in their infancy and will only get better with time. They welcomed our feedback and I highly recommend the BRUSCHETTA!

We ordered the Pork Trashcan Nachos and they were incredible -- piled high and packed with flavor. Definitely a must-try if you come here. I also tried the Mac & Cheese Burger. It was fun and unique, though I personally prefer a thicker burger patty rather than a thinner one. Still, it was creative and tasty, and the overall food quality was excellent. The restaurant had a fun, energetic vibe and the service was friendly and attentive, which made for a really enjoyable dining experience. One slightly odd moment at the end: our server handed us a card encouraging a review, which is totally fine, but it also included a religious message ("Jesus saves"). Everyone is certainly entitled to their beliefs, and I respect that, but it felt a little unexpected as part of the dining experience. Personally, I'd rather just keep the focus on the great food and service. Overall though, a really good meal and a fun place to eat if you're visiting Branson. Definitely worth stopping in for the nachos alone.

The poutine was fabulous. The fry coating was crisp and tasty and the gravy was full of flavor. The Reuben sandwich is outstanding! The way they cut that corned beef was nothing short of magic. An egg on there? What? I've never heard of such a thing, but yes please. And I had the brûlée corn; which I may need to learn how to replicate because I've never seen this on any menu in Chicago, but it's too far to travel as often as I'll be thinking about that dish! The old fashions were smooth! Went with vanilla and loved the subtle flavors. Everyone was so nice and the atmosphere was a delightful mix of old school pub/English castle. All of it was just what I was hoping to find. Food off the beaten path that deserves a huge shout out. In a town of bland flavors, this place shines like a real gem!

Sat in a comfy table with a padded pew close to the bar with our backs to the wall, which instantly put my hyper vigilant husband at ease (IYKUK). Chatted a bit with our kind server who was also a millennial, how do I know this? The eye contact and lovely snarky conversation. My husband ordered his med rare, which probably came out more med and not enough pink for his liking. Correction on my part, I got the mahi mahi with parmesan grits and green beans and I didn't even need to look at my pictures to recall, it was that memorable of a meal. Being early January a parking spot nearby was an easy find, I imagine though finding one come spring will feel like a miracle. I'd love to stay at the attached hotel but found it's already booked a year out. Doesn't surprise me, the old English charm with its stone and dark wood is straight up story book.
