We stopped going to outback a while ago but the last three times we revisited it has been great. We sat in the bar area and our server was excellent. I tried the bone in ribeye and my wife had the sirloin. She likes hers medium and I had medium rare and both were cooked to perfection. The blue cheese chopped salad is also awesome. Came in for dinner and they were a little busy but nothing too bad for a Saturday night. We were able to sit right away. Ordered Victoria's fillet (medium) with a baked potato and mixed veggies. Steak came out rare. So rare that I had to send it back. The second time it came back it was medium rare- still bleeding. By the time that it came back the second time I had already finished the veggies and my potato. Wasn't willing to send my steak back a second time so they could try to get it right. This was the worst experience I've ever had at an outback before. We went to celebrate with another couple and have drinks and visit, after 2 appetizers and 3 drinks over a 2 hr period someone approached our table and said we had reached a point that they didn't want to serve us if we weren't prepared to order. That was not the problem, it was that this person was very loud and boisterous about it and made us a spectacle to all the people on that side of the restaurant. I would of had no problem if the bartender had come to the table and talked to us to survey the drink situation and how we were but that was not what happened at all , we were made extremely uncomfortable, they even wanted to know who was driving... We stayed and ordered meals and kind of brushed it off even had one more drink over our 3 hour visit. This was extremely uncomfortable and unwarranted and we will not ever go back to this location maybe even not the restaurant. I still tipped our waitress very well I'm not sure she had anything do do with it and we all said please and thank you to her every time she came to the table even after this happened to us, I think even she was embarrassed this happened to us. I believe that 4 beers over a 3 hour period for someone who is 6'3 and 265 is very acceptable and probably happens all the time, why they chose to single us out I do not know. Very unsatisfactory. We ate here last week. We were seated immediately and our waitress was excellent. She asked about our preferences and took our orders immediately. My brother did not get his beer because the bartender entered the order and did not fill the glass. Then, my salad was late. It was excellent and the coconut shrimp was very good. This is absolutely the worst Outback I have ever experienced! It is more like an outhouse. We live in Decatur, TX and wanted a nice place for our anniversary and this was the closest Outback. It didn't have real good reviews, but hey, it's an Outback! Right? My steak would have made a real good boot sole. But, worse than that, my wife called them to make sure their "endless shrimp" would still be available. Oh yes, they said. This location is getting a face lift and is looking GOOD. No more kangaroos and kitch of the old days, think modern and sleek. It's a quiet restaurant, unlike that noisy one up the road with stuff all over the floor! The food has also improved recently, delicious steaks with just the right amount of seasoning. Let me start by saying we miss Matt Turner. Best Operator Outback ever had! This location has gone downhill since he left. We went last night for our sons 16th birthday. I told the hosts this as we walked in the door and was assured they would tell our server. Now, let's talk about just how special our non existent server was.... She took our order, brought our non-alcoholic beverages and we didn't see her again until she brought the bill. Another server brought our adult beverages. A third server brought our food and was so anxious to get rid of it he didn't even ask whose food was whose he just slapped it down on the table and we got to rearrange it ourselves. My husband and I were sharing a meal and had asked for an extra plate when we ordered and had to ask for one again. Meanwhile neither of our boys have had their drinks refilled since we got there. After we finished our appetizers and stacked our dishes on the edge of the table they sat there with empty drink glasses while wait staff walked by our table for a good 15 minutes. By the way, did I mention we came for a birthday celebration? Yah? Well, that never materialized! No recognition what so ever! We will not ever come back to this establishment. Ordered a To Go meal for my husband and I. Kept being put on hold & bounced around to different people like they'd never taken a phone order to go before. Get there and he's informed that our sides were messed up...Ok no big deal I guess, one of the employees told us we'd get a free cheesecake for all the problems, which we never got. Get home, eat dinner while watching some movies and realize that they forgot one of our appetizers (stuffed mushrooms). Unfortunately it was after 10pm when we decided to eat the mushrooms and outback was closed. I realize he should have looked in the bag to make sure we had everything but by the time he got our meal he just wanted to get home. I visited this outback tonight a 6 PM with my retired parents and my wife. 3 of us ordered the 4 course special and my father orders the prime rib. Our salad and soup got to the table 4o minutes after we placed our order, but that was just the start to unbelievable experience. Did I mention the soup and salad arrived at the same time! That is not great but it gets much better, after eating my salad our entrees arrive and I can eat my soup while my dinner entree gets cold! My father is now not happy due to his prime rib being served as a end cut when ordered as a med/rare. The server apologizes and requested the manager visit our table. He did and showed up with terrible attitude and because my father did not want to get a replacement the manager called my father rude! After leaving our table in a huff he returned to show how angry he was with his loud voice that he was not charging us for the dinner, I had finally had enough of this BULLY and told him his customer service and people skills suck! I guess I was correct as he told me to leave his restaurant! Wow this guy needs some real help! I asked for his business card, his name is Garrett Cox and he is listed as the Proprietor. I understand things in a business can get sideways fast but this proprietor should not be attacking customers in this manner. I could go on but I'm pretty sure I'm not the first or the last customer he will abuse. I will never enter this place again as long as I live and Outback can rest assured I will no longer take clients, myself or family to this or any outback. I hope you will not dine here as it will only promote bad food and horrific management. I used to enjoy a quick bite at Outback but my last three visits have made me decide that they have lost their passion. The final straw was a "Victoria filet" that was thin and so over seasoned that it burned my tongue (not because it was hot). The steak and potato were luke warm at best, the chicken and shrimp pasta was dry and cold. We sent both back while listening to excuses from the manager. I thought this was supposed to be a good steak place. My wife and I went here for dinner and were very dissatisfied. We ordered the prime rib and the ribeye. The meats were very tough, had tendons and seemed very low quality. The sides were average at best. We also ordered two drinks from the bar and neither had any alcohol in them. And to top it all off the waitress was very rude and condescending to my wife. So we paid $90 for garbage IHOP quality steaks and sides and got drinks with no alcohol and a crappy waitress. I had to write this review, because I have never seen in my life such a horrible restaurant. Why it is still in business is beyond me. My big regret is not taking a picture of the 6 oz. sirloin steak that they brought me, the whole table was laughing. I am having some really bad luck with chain joints recently. This would have been a solid 4 star review, except... Service was prompt, and the bread and drinks kept coming. Food was delivered in the right amount of time as well. The one issue with the food was my steak. I had a 6 oz special. 1st, it was luck if it was 4 oz. 2nd, I asked for medium. We all know what a picture of medium looks like (pink in the middle). Instead I got medium well bordering on well. It was so small, I just polished it off and moved on. I had plenty of other stuff to fill me up between soup, salad, potato and bread. Had the steak been decent and the "but" that I am getting to not happened, this could have been a 5 star. The "but" happened when I was checking out. I had a gift card that was going to cover the meal pretty much exactly. I left the card and $10 in the receipt holder so that I could get change back to leave a tip (I was going to tip $7). Waiter said "I'll be right back with that." I waited. I waited some more. It was becoming obvious to me that he saw that my gift card was for within pennies of the meal (no I would not have wanted it back) and figured I was leaving him the $10. WRONG! He either needed to let me know that I had enough on the card and attempt to give me back the $10 or at least ask why I left the cash in the holder. I did not tell him to keep the change or anything. Had I wanted to leave him the $10, I would have either left it on the table or told him "this is for you" or "keep the change." I was irate about the presumptuousness that he had. It bothered me more that I liked his service until then. I did not want to make a scene, so I just walked out and held my tongue when he told me to have a nice day as I walked by him. The manager was very understanding when I called back after I got home and offered to give it back if I came in. I was a bit away from home, so that wasn't happening. She did take my name and address, so maybe there is reciprocation coming. We had an amazing experience and mostly because our waiter was awesome. His name was Cody and we've actually had him serve us before. He is so courteous and very friendly. He's probably the best waiter I've ever had. He checks up on you frequently, but when your food is out he checks up on you once then gives you time to enjoy it in peace. We had a table of four with salad and bread plates and entree plates and no room to even set our drinks. This is how you serve your guests? Everything shoved down on us and all at once. Do you people even realize how to serve your guests? Thank you also for ruining our night out? Even after complaints to Mgmt and an offer of half off our food only bill, the night was a disaster. We dumped this Outback nine years ago with service like this and lousy steaks and have tried again in recent months, with declining product and service again and again. We just had the coolest experience here. I ordered a custom salad (not on the menu) to include pecans, sunflower seeds, almonds and guac. As it turned out the sunflower seeds were more like sesame seeds. The waitress was sweet and apologetic. Shortly after she left the table a extremely friendly gentleman approached us to express his apologies for not having the typical sunflower seeds. In addition, he said he was comping my salad, to which I replied there was no need to do so. He also said he would special order the standard sunflower seeds for the next time I came in. He was what we thought was the friendliest manager ever. He came back to the table with his card and told us to call him before we come to ensure he has the seeds in stock or he will run to get them. We sat there in disbelief and awe. As it turns out, his business card identified him as Jeffery G, Proprietor!!!! We continued to watch him as made his rounds thru the restaurant and greeted people at the host stand, opening doors and all. We eat out all the time and have to say this is the best customer experience we can remember. Amazed I'm already to come back! This was flippin' awesome! I have been going to Outback since they opened in Florida. We live in Denton area and have been going to Denton Outback since late 90's. Tonight awful. Wed night, 745p, 15 minute wait asked for table as I am let's just say it to fat for a booth. Pager goes off after 20min up we go. We have your booth ready, o o..... This should have been a sign. Ordered the pork chop, wife the 12.99 outback sirloin. Forgot, took ten minutes for wait staff to show up. Drinks come quickly. Then waiter comes back, no pork chop.... I order same as wife outback sirloin with salad, pecan one, and sweet potato. Ok bread is good, but no refill anymore, also no refill on ice tea, or a visit from waiter with how is your meal? Manager used to come through and inquire about dinner, I can see why. Got check, no 12.99 special charged 1.00 extra for salad and no mini dessert. Asked about manager, no response on that, evidently there is not a manager anymore must be a cost savings. read more

Received a gift card for Outback and had not ate at one in probably 15 years. Quite honestly, it was very good. Beef prices are really high right now, and the $12.99 sirloin & shrimp along with the salad was just the right portion size. The steak was cooked perfect and there was not any to waste. I very rarely eat steak but in the future, if I'm in Denton, I would definitely return. Visited this Outback last weekend and left pretty disappointed. The steaks were so salty I couldn't finish mine. Even the potato was too too salty. I think for three people we spent 75 bucks for lunch, so definitely not worth it. It's been years since I've been to an Outback. No particular reason, other than there's not one close to me. Even years ago when I used to go to Outback more frequently, the Lewisville location always won out over the Denton location because they had better taste and quality. We may go back and check out the Lewisville location to compare notes before writing off the Outback forever. I'm not sure if they've changed the flavor profiles of their dishes or if this particular location just chooses to do their own thing. read more

Went to this Outback in Denton at 5pm on a Monday night. First off it took 15 mins for the waitress to even to take our drink order. Even then we had to wave Someone down. The manager came out and apologize for the mix up in staffing and gave us a free appetizer. It made up for the wait. We we happy. But... The appetizer came 20 mins later. 10 mins later my dinner salad. 15 mins later our meal. I order my steak medium, it came out well done. I am not an expert on steak but my 12oz steak seemed small. My small serving of potatoes were cold. My wife's sandwich was small and not worth the 11 dollar price tag. The best meal on the table was my sons chicken strips. Never going back to this outback. Could have went to saltgrass and got a much better steak for the same price. read more

What's not to love about this chain restaurant? Everything I've had on the menu has been amazing! This past visit, hubby ad I had the new Hand Carved Sirloin classic style with the cabernet sauce on the side. It was DELICIOUS!! Hubby thought it was pretty darn good too. We were a little hesitant when we were ordering and our server informed us it is only cooked to Medium. (We are a rare to med-rare steak lovers) but when it came out it look absolutely beautiful!! (I think our server saw the disappointment on my face when he told us it is cooked to medium and told the chef and they found the rarest they could, because it was more medium rare than medium. Was so happy about that! Had the Down Under Rita on this visit, and it was so tasty!! All in all, I don't have a single complaint about this Denton location.
