This review is not about the food or the service, even though both were good, this review is about trust. When this Outback first opened we did a carry out order. Upon getting the order home it was missing part of the food requested. I called the restaurant and they told me to just mention it the next time I come in...well I forgot but mentioned on this day (6/15/25) and the manager listened to my story and told me he would make it right. So much scamming going on now a days so it was really heart warming that Eric (manager) followed through with what was promised and what happened months or even a year ago. Last week we wanted to try this new Outback location. Since my wife has difficulty dining in restaurants we wanted to order our meal to go. It was about 7:30 Friday and we found they stopped taking to go orders at 6:00 pm, very disappointing! Then we decided we would try them at noon on saturday. We placed the "to go" order and discovered they cannot take gift cards online, luckily the did offer a "pay at store" option. Pickup and payment was easy, but after arriving home the issues started to pile up. They did not prepare the house salad according to the instructions stuck to the container that read "no onions". The chopped blue salad looked almost like the house salad but had a couple of extra ingredients but it was missing the key blue cheese crumbles and it was definitely NOT chopped! Upon proceeding to the entrees, we found that the steaks and sides had been switched as we requested different levels of doneness. After switching the steaks, my wife found the spices unbearable. She actually took her steak to the sink and washed the spices off, however it was still too much for her and she could not stand to finish it. My steak also had a ton of seasoning on it, but i did finish it. Also, my baked sweet potato was absolutely the smallest i have ever had, it was the tiniest. Needless to say, we will not be back anytime soon. I did complete the survey and even took the option to request a response by filling out a different form. Rudest servers ever in life. First time I went here was months ago. Was seated down and waited over a hour for food. The manager literally told me & my sister he didn't know why the wait was long. Tried going here again last Sunday . Nobody greeted us , was sitting down for 20 minutes without anyone saying anything. When we got the attention of one girl with a ponytail she instantly raised her eyebrows in an irritated way & said she wasn't our server. We tried to ask someone else and were told our server named Kylie was outside for a minute. Whatever that meant! We were happily surprised to find Outback had returned to the area; however the chicken wings which have always been on the smaller side but delicious & crispy, were not crunchy at all and we were concerned they weren't properly cooked. We did discuss with the manager and he took care of the wings but we were also disappointed the server didn't mention there was a steak & lobster special for $10 less than the steak entree we ordered. I think all restaurants are struggling to find good help. We did have to wait about 40 mins and had a couple drinks at the bar where we had great service, probably should've just eaten at the bar. read more

So my husband & I went on a Friday, a little after 4 pm. They were actually not too busy when we walked in. We waited for like 10 minutes, which wasn't too bad. We waited at the bar. When we were seated though, the service was a little bit slow. Also the waiting area consisted of a cubby with about 4 chairs. Another reason we sat at the bar. When we finally did get service, it was good. The steaks were pretty good, but I didn't care for the coconut shrimp. All in all not too bad. read more

I went to this restaurant shortly after it opened at 11am today. There was no wait to be seated. But, I waited 15 mins before I was able to flag down someone to ask where my server was. She told a waiter serving in my area. A few mins later, that waiter told me my waiter would be with me shortly with no other details of their name or how much longer I would wait. No waiter ever showed up. After waiting another 10 mins, I gave up and just left the restaurant after I told the hostess, no waiter ever showed up. The hostess did ask me if I wanted to sit elsewhere, but I said no. So, I went to Longhorn and got a waiter to wait on me in less than 3 mins. read more

My 1st and my last experience with Outback Steakhouse in OFallon Illinois...I originally ordered the prime rib online, but received a call after placing the order and paying for it that they weren't able to honor the order for two hours, and asked if I wanted to substitute with any other suggestions, decided to go with the porterhouse, 22 ounce was supposed to be well done or medium to red or pink as you can see I didn't get what I want. Not that the order took even longer very busy restaurant understandable but on top of it I had ordered the children's meal for my daughter chicken tenders or fingers. Whatever they call them it was supposed to come with fries. Which she did not get nor did she get the first time we had to go back to the restaurant to pick up this order but while waiting for the first time we were only waiting on the apple juice that I was told would be right out that did not happen When I called the restaurant outback steakhouse to let them know... I was told that I told them I didn't want the apple juice but could not understand what happened to the children's meal. They told me to give them 15 more minutes to have it ready so when I got back there, I was trying to talk to the manager with my experience out he was apologetic but it seems superficial. I didn't really feel like he was listening to the issue. I was not offered any compensation or discount of any type after spending 70+ dollars at that restaurant for takeout. Not a happy camper. Didn't feel like I was really listened to. I cannot see myself going back to this particular outback. read more

We were so excited to visit this location. This is my husband's favorite restaurant and we usually visit the location in Saint Peters. So we were so eager to come to this location because it's so close us. The first time we tried to come here, the system was down so they were not taking orders. We tried again tonight and it was a horrible experience. Our food came out cold and wrong. My husband ordered a steak MEDIUM WELL and it came RARE and COLD! His loaded baked potato WITHOUT sour cream came out with ONLY sour cream. My pasta didn't have enough sauce on it, when I asked for more, the sauce came out cold! The chicken and shrimp pasta was bland and the crazy thing is that the manager even agreed it was tasteless and always gets sent back! We sat for more than 30 minutes and never for drink refills. The table next to us got several drink refills, and we have the same server. Our bill was cancelled and we left. I won't be coming back to this location. I will just continue to make that 45 minute drive to Saint Peters... read more

Decided to try Outback because we had a gift card. They employees were very friendly and when we were going to be seated at a small table by the restrooms I asked to be seated elsewhere. The hostess was very nice and accommodating. Our server was awesome. She was prompt and checked on us through out our meal. We had a bloomin' onion appetizer which came quickly and was delicious. The filet I ordered was good but a bit more cooked than I ordered but tasty. The sweet potato was great. My husband had the prime rib. He said it was alright. Nothing to write home about. I had a great experience here for lunch! I wanted to put 5 stars but when we were here a month ago my pork chops were raw and so they had to cook them longer but for some reason they charged us twice for that. It was weird. Also, I ordered a gluten free salad and said no croutons but it came with the wrong dressing and croutons. As the lady walked away she used her own hands to pull the croutons off and they waited a moment and brought it back to me. She knew I had celiac and that the dressing was wrong so that was not a good choice. I was shocked. She also came back 10 minutes later and gave me a ceased salad that I did not order and can't eat bc the croutons. I said I got my salad and she said oh well here this is a good salad. I said no thank you and she tossed it on the table at me anyways. It was weird. Avoid Outback and go ANYWHERE else!! 1. It took 20+ minutes from the time we ordered them to get our drinks (tea and soda). We were almost done with our appetizer by the time we got them. When we asked our waitress, she acted like it was someone else's responsibility. We finally had to ask another waitress to get our drinks! 2. None of our steaks were good! None! Not one! I had the filet medallions which, although seasoned well and cooked appropriately, were some of the toughest steak I have ever had! My son's steak was overcooked and had no seasoning and my husband's steak was overcooked and full of gristle/fat! 3. The up-charge Mac-n-cheese was dry, unappetizing, and lacked flavor. Don't recommend! 4. My salad was literally swimming in ranch, so overdressed it was disgusting! This was one of our worst restaurant experiences in the area. Two hours of bad food and lackluster service. If you insist on going, the Mac-n-cheese ball appetizer was actually good! The ONE highlight to our visit! I called for call ahead seating with a group of 13. The hostess spoke to the manager and came back to say they would not be able to take us at all that night (this was a weeknight). There was no discussion about coming in a little later or splitting us up into two tables. It was just "no, we can't accommodate you". While I understand that they are busy as they just recently opened, restaurants should attempt to accommodate customers to the best of their ability instead of turning customers away. read more

after looking over the menu I ordered the meatloaf. the very kind waitress told us that the meatloaf was no longer available but was still on the menu. we ordered burgers as our meal and the $15.49 steak dip as an appetizer. the steak dip DID NOT HAVE STEAK IN IT. Instead it had about two table spoons of ground meat mixed into some cheese sauce. Very disappointed in the portion size as well. It was truly an appetizer for one. The burgers were just average. The meal was way over priced for a bad appetizer and average burgers. Will not return. read more

4 Star that I wished really was a 5 Star and could possibly be 99% of staff seemed friendly and welcoming and very helpful. First our server Deena I believe I'm sure I screwed up spelling but she was amazing helped with a lot with drinks and appetizer choices and got our kids bread and fruit very quick to keep them occupied .. Appetizers were amazing wings and cheese bites are a must very rich with every bite with flavor. Drinks were very good if you know what I mean bartenders I tip my hat to you lol small issue that I'm sure was accidental of course but the managing staff Mr. Ryan I believe I'll post his card in review very professional man made sure that after the problem we still left with smiles and felt our dinner experience , my wife's birthday and our sons health was cared for and for that we appreciate everyone and we feel like everyone deserves a second chance and we will be back sooner than later. read more
