We had a problem with our previous lighting company/contactor doing repairs to our tree lighting that was damaged by a yard maintenance company. After many attempts to make contact they finally came out, did a partical repair and never returned to finish the job. Frustrated we began looking for help elsewhere. We're were able to get "Outdoor Lighting" to come to access our problem. I was prepared for most likely having to replace the entire lighting system (thinking it was not able to be repaired when the pervious company didn't return and wouldn't respond to phone calls). Chris with Outdoor Lighting showed up to see what he could do for us. I was waiting for the bad news once he looked the situation over. Chris started going to work and in 2 1/2 hours he had the system working, redid all the bad wiring and replace the necessary components to make it like a brand system! I was totally amazed at how efficient and hard working this individual is at his job. Not to mention how pleasant and respectful a person he is to deal with. This review is long overdue. Rick and Sharon Johnson and their crew are wonderful. In fact, I recommended my sweetheart, who also runs a service business, to study their business practices (email communications, bidding practices, etc.) because they run such a tight ship. Not to give the wrong impression, Outdoor Lighting Perspectives doesn't come off so much as well oiled nation-wide chain, but as an extremely organized, friendly, artistic, family run service. Rick will not sell you something you don't need and will happily work within your budget. Their crew is friendly and skilled and will go the extra mile to make sure you're happy, (even offering to come back to tilt a light head just a smidgeon). They'll also return without complaint to show you how to work your timer, even though its so simple, you should have remembered how to do it yourself in the first place. I rent my house (the Loft House in Austin) out for short term vacation rentals and the lighting they installed is so beautiful, some guests have even commented on the night time ambiance in their reviews of my property. Volente Hills HOA was in desperate need of a lighting upgrade after the previous system failed. Rick from Outdoor Lighting Perspectives was great! From the time I called to the time he walked the site was only hours. All the other vendors took a "whatever" attitude and I had to chase them to get a response to my voicemails. These were pretty big companies, so I expected far better. Rick's choice of lighting hardware was excellent, fully sealed low voltage LEDs, with solid brass casing with a copper wash. The system looks amazing! Finally we needed solar powered LED lights for our two mailbox stands. Once again Rick's choice and installation was flawless. We did have one unit fail to trigger when someone walked under it but Rick sent a tech out on three occasions to observe it at dusk and dawn. I've been trying to get my outdoor lights set up for a while and had several parties come in to give me estimates. Rick's estimate was not the highest nor was it the lowest, but he was knowledgeable and very clear about what he was going to do. I felt very comfortable with his ideas and assurance that they are not a hit and run company. Rick said they may need a couple of days to get the work complete and I thought great...that's really quick. He and his team showed up at 7am sharp and got on with the placement of the light fittings. They then dug the ground to lay the cables and by 2pm, the job was complete! He came out a couple times prior to installation with minimal notice at night and even on a weekend to give us a lighting demo and design consultation based on our busy schedules. Our house was very dark with minimal outdoor lighting and after they were done, our house stands out nicely and provides additional safety for our guests. I hired Outdoor Lighting Perspectives to make repairs to my low voltage lighting system installed several years ago. Rick and his techs inspected the system completely and came up with ways to not only fix it, but to make it much more economical to run by changing the lights to LED's instead of the old style I had. The system is fantastic now and the cost of making the changes was quite reasonable. Great job! Responded to my initial request for an estimate immediately and arrived exactly when they said. The only issue I had was after accepting the proposal they said they would contact me to set up installation. After almost two weeks I had not heard from them so I called. I was told I was scheduled for the following Friday so I wasn't sure why they had not called prior but that worked out great.
