On my way to work this morning, one of their drivers hauling a big trailer was tailgating me, continuously honking at me and flashing their bright lights behind me because they tried cutting me off on central and buckeye where there was a lane closure and couldn't. They ended up turning inside of the circle k on 7th st and buckeye and I called the cops on them. I hope you guys figure out who the idiot driving was because he could've caused an accident! This all happened around 6:45 am. You as a company need to do better at training your employees and not allowing this type of behavior, especially from a driver!!! I have friends and family who work in the construction business and I will definitely be letting them know to not work with you guys or recommend you guys. read more

Update since the business owner replied. Did I receive a pool sleeve umbrella cap eventually? Yes. Was it the correct one? No. It doesn't fit flush and is a slightly different color. However his statements about supply chain issues are disingenuous. I called and emailed repeatedly about this. Eventually they flat out told me they would not provide me with one and I had to go buy it. It took a Better Business Bureau complaint for them to finally start to take me seriously. So yeah I sort of got what I wanted (although it is still wrong), but only because I had to resort to escalating this to a ridiculous level before they decided it was better to provide me with what I paid for than to keep dealing with the nuisance. And again, I am mostly happy with their work. Backyard and front yard still look good 3 years later. But the fact I had to pester them into doing the right thing is why you should definitely think twice about using them. read more

Many companies can transform your yard, but few can do it with exceptional customer service like Outdoor Xscapes provided to us. Turning our dated yard into the space we have dreamed of began with a thorough meeting with Cindy. We wanted all grass replaced with artificial turf, a (rather large) brand new travertine patio, resurfacing of our pool along with pool upgrades to modernize our set-up. Cindy made sure that she understood exactly what we wanted and took MANY measurements and photos before diving into her detailed design work. We were provided with many digital, full color images and videos before we even signed a contract or were asked for any money. This service alone took much of her time and it is hard to find a company that will do this leg-work before requiring a deposit. After some back and forth on the design, we knew we wanted to work with Outdoor Xscapes. The detail that went into the design and quote and the time spent discussing our dreams made us feel that we would be well taken care of during the whole process. We are so pleased to be at the end of the process and to see that we were absolutely right to go with this company. The yard looks exactly like the design and exactly what we had in our mind. The crews that worked on the property were respectful and spent much time here visibly working hard to get the job done right and in a timely manner. Any time we had a question, concern or thought we needed a change Cindy or Megan was easily accessible by phone, text or e-mail. Cindy and /or the project manager came out personally multiple times to walk the property with us and address little things as they popped up during the project. They always gave us options to try and keep the work economical and had many great ideas. As with any job, there are going to be "hiccups" or unexpected things that come up: We truly feel that we were well communicated with on these issues and that the conversations were always polite and professional. Sad to say, but this is not the case with every company either. I will happily recommend this company to any one that needs outdoor work done and I personally will be using this company for any needs that arise in the future. Thank you "InfoX". for your response. As far as the agreed upon change orders...I had no alternative except to agree to them since they were already in the mid-way point and would have just left the job incompleted. Changes that I initiated were original requests that I made but Steve didn't include in his plans. They kind of had the attitude that they rather go with their plans than what the customer (me) requested. Also, I have had a lawn with tiff grass for over 30 years in Phoenix and Scottsdale and know how to care for it. The problem I have is that they tore up the the grade of the ground beneath the grass and left it with indentations and low spots that will need to be regraded in order to have an even smooth lawn. As far as contacting ODX via Megan's cell phone number...that is the number that they gave me to use, how else would I have gotten it? Once they stopped responding they asked me to call the office number, which I have. As far as the BBQ galore grill, BBQ Galore said that the grill was installed incorrectly and had the wrong fittings for propane gas. This caused the grill to burn the interior due to the excessive heat, which fortunately, BBQ Galore agreed to replace the parts under their warranty. All-in-all, a very unsatisfactory experience. We had outdoor porcelain put in and it's lifting and uneven. I pointed it out but was never fixed. The company doesn't return calls or texts unless to pick up money. The project took months and is still not finished. We have to call another company to fix it. Please do not use them. read more

7/24/2021 I will keep you updated on the outcome of this unfortunate string of events and the level of customer service I receive from Outdoor Xscape. Everyone can and will make mistakes. It is how they are handled that makes the difference. I am working with Outdoor Xscapes for a total backyard install. I have had multiple hiccups along with timing/follow up from my Rep Garrett since our initial meeting on 5/20/2021. The install began on Friday, 7/23/2021. There was an landscaping install error done by the workers that was not caught by my project manager, Jesse. I reported it via email and text immediately to Jesse and Garrett when I noticed it. Sadly, the following day when the company scheduled to install my trash pad and sidewalk leading to the driveway could not start because the river rock mistakenly installed in the area by the Outdoor Xscape workers. I called my sales representative, Garrett, and made him aware of it. I immediately recieved a call from Roland Martinez, the owner. I explained the challenges that this error could cause, like further delays in completing my front yard could cause me to forfeit my landscaping allowance from the builder based on HOA regulations. Mr. Martinez advised me that no one could come out on the Saturday but he was willing to pay the company onsite to move the 14 x 10 plot of river rock. They refused stating they did not have the time to correct this error and do their work as well. I will post before and after photos too. read more

I bought a new build home and hired Outdoor Xscapes to do the backyard landscaping. Joel did a beautiful design based on what I explained I wanted, with a very detailed and fair estimate. He showed how it would look at night when the lights were on, which none of the other contractors showed me. He also explained the warranty in great detail. All of that together sealed the deal for me to hire them. I got a patio overlay with pavers, walkway, drip system, lighting, artificial turf and many flowering plants. The program they use to fly through the yard and visually see what you are wanting to do was a great feature and the design background and suggestions they had for us were top notch. I really liked how changing the color of stack stone on the bar and grill changed the look and the new pool tile just made it pop. Abel has a big heart and actually cared about the install. Hoping to have our outdoor living space looking nice by Christmas, I contacted them in May. On May 25th, Garrett Wedge came out to my house, listened to what I was looking for, took measurements and made some basic drawings of the space. He said he'd work up some preliminary ideas/drawings and an estimate, and get back with me in a couple of weeks. I never heard from him again. Sometime in July, I finally called their offices to see if they could at least give me the estimate that he came up as a starting point for me. They couldn't. They said that the sales people keep their own files. She took my name and said she'd have him call me. He didn't. In sales, I think it's important to follow through; whatever that follow through may be. I would have preferred that he just call me and say - I'm too busy with higher end jobs or jobs I'd rather do, please move on, I don't want to be your landscape designer - SOMETHING! But, why should I expect him to be upfront and reasonable when he wasted his own time pretending to give a crap about my project. He could have just taken one look at my house and decided to 'no show' the appointment. Or call and tell me he can't make our appointment or something. I don't know. Arghh!!! If anyone knows a good landscape designer that will work in Central Phoenix for a modest sized yard, please message me! I get the feeling that everyone only wants to do landscape designs for the Silverleaf, Boulders crowd, etc. Looking for tropical design, not desert. read more

My rating is more like 2 1/2 stars. I had my yard done in August, was pretty simple - just taking out old rock & pea gravel and putting in new rock. The reason it took me so long to do a review was that I had quite honestly forgotten to do it. However the reason now for such a low review was that thanks to all the rain we got recently, I now have a ton of grass and weeds growing up through the brand new rocks because they apparently didn't put down the plastic barrier under the rocks. They also put the rocks in my front yard in the wrong place but that's not a huge deal I'll just have to modify my plans. I realize our project was small in comparison to a full backyard remodel, but we should have still gotten the same attention that customers with bigger projects got. I almost feel like they just threw down the rocks and spread them and left. I won't be using them to complete the rest of the yard. read more

I spent a lot of time on design and conversation with her and I have to say she went over and above every single time. Aside from that, she is good people! They came out and we were told that it would be a three week turnaround just get a quote because they were so busy from the Home and Garden show. I guess Outdoor Xscapes doesn't want my money. I found them at the Home and landscape show at the end of April, at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum. I left my name and # and they reached out to me fairly quickly. But actually getting them to come out to my home - wow. They cancelled on me last minute twice - pushing out the appointment 2-3 weeks. Ashton came out to my property on 5/18 and we talked and he gave me some ideas and he said he'd draw up a plan and get me an estimate 2 weeks later. I called them two weeks ago and Ashton said he'd get me the proposal that following Saturday. Two weeks have passed by. I called again earlier this week and the girl answering the phone said she'd get in touch with Ashton and she'd get back to me. No call back. This would've been around $8k job - maybe that's not big enough of a job for them. But it's a lot of money to me, and my time is money. Please don't waste my time. Based on the previous reviews here (I wish I would've read before pursuing them) I will not be calling them anymore. What a waste of time. I used this company to install a "Resort Like" backyard. Their quality was the worst and the price tag was high. I spent over $100k on a backyard that I am having to slowly redo over time due to the bad quality. I put in a pool, spa and Ramada. Example of the bad quality is the decking (travertine) around the pool has one color of grout and the decking around the spa has a different color grout while the grout of the travertine countertops of the Ramada have a different color of grout. The backyard lighting system was having problems 6 mo after installation. When I called them they told me it would be a repair charge for them to come out. The watering system they installed started to go out within a year. I would not recommend this company. Shop around, get better quality and service from another company. read more

We are thrilled with the work that we just had done by Outdoor Xscapes and can't wait to partner with them this fall on our backyard project. We recently moved into a home that needed a lot of TLC in both the front and the backyard. We met Joel at the home show in January and he came out to work up a design for us for our backyard. A few weeks later he was back with a design, we loved the design, but also based on the cost of the work we were looking to have done we had proposals out with other companies. Joel was very patient with us and always followed up with us (not constantly, but always a nice check in every few weeks). He came back to walk through the design again and we decided we wanted some things changed as a result of seeing some other designs. He was more then willing to accommodate our request and also walk through with us some pros and cons about what direction we were looking to change things. He made some very valid points that we wouldn't have thought about on our own. During this 3 month process (length of time was on our end not theirs) we were in the processing of removing rock, shrub and trees from our front yard because we had plans to put in a sprinkler system and grass. I had been getting quotes from others to do the work, as we initially only wanted the sprinklers put in and we were going to do the curbing and grass ourselves. We ran into a lot of issues and decided to outsource the entire project. On one of Joel's stop overs to our home to talk about the back yard project we asked him if they would be willing to quote the front yard work. He was hesitant since he wasn't sure it was going to meet their cost minimum but he went ahead and measured and quoted everything. Based on the project size and cost he wasn't sure his company would do the front project without us signing the contract for the backyard first, but he said he would ask. We weren't ready to sign the contract for the back because we aren't looking to have it done until the fall and when you sign the contract you have to put a deposit down and we just weren't ready to do that. We were so thankful when Joel called and said he got our front yard project approved without us having to sign a contract to complete both the front and the back. We signed immediately. The hardest part was the timeline, we got pushed out for about 6 weeks due to other larger projects they had on the calendar that had been pushed out due to rain earlier in the season. They were very clear with us about timeline. It was worth the wait, they did a fantastic job! They were able to push us up a week earlier and they showed up on time and were at our home about 10-11 hours. They were polite, worked hard and did an amazing job. We are so pleased with the work. Once they were done they cleaned up everything, you would have never known they were there working all day. They came out the next two days to follow up on the sprinklers and timers and to make sure everything was running OK. Joel was there for the beginning of the project and for the end. He managed the entire thing very well. We are extremely happy, and are so excited to partner with Outdoor Xscapes this fall to get our dream backyard. Joel made the whole project seem effortless on our end and we are just thrilled with the work as well as the team that came out to do all the work. We would highly recommend them. Hello, I had a very poor experience with Outdoor Xscapes and wish I would have gone with another landscaping design company. The sales process was very positive and smooth. Garrett, our designer, was very responsive and attentive when he was trying to earn our business, which was a decent amount of money. Once we signed on the dotted line, it was impossible to get a hold of him and the job took months longer than was promised or quoted. We could not have had a more difficult experience. He lied to us, as confirmed by his boss on a three way call, never responded to e-mails, and was waiting at our house unannounced asking for a check (that was not due) saying that they company needed it to make payroll that week. The owner could have cared less and was only concerned about getting paid, and not getting the job done. Getting them to follow through with the warranty was even more difficult. Proposed to call back, but never did. I would highly encourage you not to use this company - it's no wonder they have such poor ratings. read more

If you value a friendly community or at least a civil relationship with your neighbors, DO NOT hire these guys!!! My neighbors have a beautiful backyard already, but they hired this contractor to do some landscape remodeling. Rudest bunch of contractors I have ever encountered!!! They constantly blocked my driveway with debris and at one point blocked my entire driveway with their truck. When I needed to leave, no one was in the truck (it wasn't being used to remove the debris!) so I had to approach the two guys standing in my neighbor's driveway taking a break. Neither of them understood that my backing my car out of my garage meant I needed access to the street. They finally moved the truck. When I returned, they were cleaning up the debris. However, I went out to get my mail and caught them throwing tools and other stuff into my bushes! When I told them that was my property, they ignored it. I've already contacted my neighbor since they were at work and didn't see what happened. I would absolutely never recommend this company to anyone. There are many other companies in the area who would be happy to work and courteous to your neighbors (i.e. potential customers)! read more

WOW I wish I had read all the reviews before I hired this company. I was told in the beginning this was a really small job compared to what they usually do and it would only take 3 days....six weeks later and many many issues. There in NO supervision of the work when it is being done can't communicate to the workers when issues come up due to non English speaking workers. No drawn up plans except the one I provided and workers didn't follow it. Umbrella sleeves put in front of electrical outlets on bar top. Drawer pedestal built on block wall of the view fencing of the golf course (against HOA rules) workers threw construction materials over the fence on the golf course. Travertine installed around pool as new pool deck is not symmetrical. Travertine cut smaller in the middle of the run. No responses to messages for up to 5 days. My pool was full of construction debris, the tile in the pool has concrete all over it and has not been cleaned up. I had to continually remind the salesman of the items agreed upon that had not been completed. They bent my stainless steel doors when they installed them they don't properly close. I would say subpar workmanship at best and lack of supervision and poor communication... read more

We used Outdoor Xscapes a couple years ago for our first initial project (some basic landscaping with pavers, travertine, lawn, etc), and we contacted them for a second round a few weeks ago, this time to build a bbq, fireplace, and a couple walls. Steve has been our designer for both projects and we could not be happier. The whole process went really smooth, the guys did a great job (the crew was really nice and super clean, and made sure that when they were done they wash the backyard area where they were working at), and completed he project to our desire. TERRIBLE COMPANY. This review is a little late but it is due to the problems I'm still dealing with over a year and a half after this company claimed to have finished the job at our house. Terrible service. We hired them to level out a section of our backyard, remove a tree stump, get rid of the gravel and do a 15'X15' concrete area with electric and water hookup for the bbq area we purchased. It took them 9 months! 9 FRICKING MONTHS to finish a job that they said would take 1 day max. Over a year and a half later, we are still finding out how sloppy their work is. One of the reasons it took them so long to get "done" is because they would claim it is done but it wasn't. Then we'll need to call them and get them back out to our house to finish it. We had to do this several times. Joel was our salesman. After the first day, he called me bright and early to collect the remaining amount without having any clue if the job was actually done. I find out that they never removed the gravel; which we paid them to do. All they did was spread the gravel around to make it look like they removed it. I sent Joel the images and then he says, "oh yeah, that looks bad. Our foreman said it is done so we thought it was done." Yep, tried to get me to pay for a job that they never completed. We had to get them to come out twice to get the gravel removed because they claimed it was done and it wasn't. We gave Joel the blueprint of the bbq area we purchased which required the concrete slab, electric and water hookup. I sent him an image clearly showing how the bbq will be placed and asked them to place the water and electric hookup according to that. They place it in the wrong spot... dead center of the concrete slab, nowhere near where it was supposed to go. Oh and the "electrical conduit" that we paid them to hookup? Just an empty PVC pipe. No wiring, no connection, no outlet that we paid for... just an empty PVC pipe. Since it was in the wrong spot, the bbq installers couldn't install the bbq area. We had Joel come back out and even he was so lost and confused with the shitty work his company did. What was supposed to be a free bbq installation ended up costing us $750 due to the rescheduling. Then came the part of getting them to come out and fix their screw up... again. It rained on the scheduled date so I completely understand why they didn't want to mess with the electric hookups. But after that... a week goes by. No communication from their side. I had to call Joel again and he said he had scheduled a day and time to get it fixed. Then I find out that there was nothing on the schedule that indicates that they are doing a job at our house that day. That's right! Lost 3 hours of my work pay to stay home for nobody from their company to show up. Texted Joel... no response. Keep in mind, this entire time, they were focused on getting the remaining amount from us on a job they kept screwing up and never finished. After I went off on them, they finally came out to finish the job and this point both my wife and I are so tired of dealing with them and their bs. They also never installed the sink drain for the bbq island that Joel committed to when he came out to give a quote. My wife told them, we won't pay until she got to speak to the manager because we've been trying to get ahold this guy to talk about this situation and they kept avoiding it. Couple of days later the owner of the company finally contacted my wife. His attitude and arrogance reflected the absolutely crappy service his company provided. He was condescending to her and he was unwilling to take responsibility. Now the recent update is, a month ago, when I was working on my backyard, out comes more gravel. They still didn't fully remove the gravel. They had just covered it up with the dirt. So I spent two days, removing the rest of the gravel that we paid them to remove. The electricals kept short-circuiting. We had to pay an electrician to come out to look into it and oh, what do you know... they didn't install the electrical conduit correctly. To some up this long review, STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS POSSIBLE!!! read more

The wheels continue to fall off -- on the 2nd anniversary of the landscaping. We are on the 3rd sprinkler timer, and the sprinkler control box on the right side flooded the yard. A 5-star recommended BBB company came out and dug up the area and said that the control box in the front yard was installed using the cheapest parts they had ever seen (We were charged $2128.00), and was not installed in the correct manner. This year, we finally got around to replacing Ocotillo's -- found them - larger - for $36 each. Outdoor charged .$383.04 a piece for them with NO guarantee - that's on me I should have rejected plants with no guarantee - my point in that is with a $347 a piece profit there should be a guarantee. If they don't guarantee it, don't buy it from them. Every part of our project has failed from lights, to plants, to construction of the fence, to sprinkler - all after the warranty ran of course. This was not a great experience or value. Not encouraging a boycott, but compare and buy wisely. There are many negative reviews here with experiences like ours don't discount those, especially those like ours with dates, facts, details. read more

Worst company ever. First of all, they knew I wanted to convert to a salt water pool, and they led me to believe that was included in their bid, so I would think their bid for the entire yard and pool reboot was the lowest, when it was not. So I had to pay someone else for new pool equipment. When they were installing the travertine, it was problem after problem, they kept slipping and sliding. They installed an irrigation system that flooded my yard and drowned half the plants. When they were installing last fall, and he wanted paid, he kept saying we can't leave it screwed up because everything is guaranteed for a year. Now they say the plants they killed are not under warranty and they are taking their time fixing the irrigation system, so we are having to water the remaining plants by hand. They are dishonest, sloppy and incompetent. There are too many other landscapers and pool companies in town to ever do business with this outfit.
