Stellar service, yet again this past saturday! Thank you teo sweet ladies who helped and checked us out. We often find ourselves in one of their outdoor locations in memphis.. in search of something before or during summer.. and the occasional winter visit to find a good selection of men's gifts.. This time was as wonderful, if not more so, than our other experiences here. Daughters heading to camp, in search of some new chacos as hers were too small. They always have a pretty great selection of chacos, Tevas , outdoor sandals. We had excellent help and the sweet lady didn't tire of bringing out more options/color schemes and offering suggestions.. as my daughter is weird about shoe colors. She was also very knowledgeable about the product and sizes etc. lovely experience and we will back!! The young lady who checked us out was great too. I wish I'd of gotten their names.. the you g lady who checked us out is home for the summer I believe from Colorado, to help in the store. Great place!! It's sort of like the T.A.R.D.I.S. - it's bigger on the inside. You'll find room after room, upstairs and downstairs, with outdoor/camping/hiking gear. We were asked by each employee we saw if we needed help, and on a couple of accessions we did ask questions and were helped. Staff was knowledgeable and looked like they actually partake of the outdoors and outdoor activities using the gear for sale here. I found a backpacking pack I'd had my eye on for a bit and the price was good so I went ahead and got it. Good selection of clothes and gear, not as much as REI but a good selection nonetheless. I've known about this place for a while but just hadn't managed to stop in but made the effort to today when I was in the area. I'll definitely come back here again for camping/hiking stuff. read more

I'm not an outside girl. I've never been one. I much prefer being indoors where my hair cannot get messed up. I also do not like bugs or dirt. Sue me, at least I'm honest. If you are an outside person and your idea of a vacation is sleeping in a tent on the cold, dirty ground- then this is your place. They have just about everything in the way of camping. The building looks relatively small on the outside, but they jam pack that mother with a ridiculous amount of items for your outdoor adventuring. Even I, the non-outside gal, found a few items here. They carry a pretty wide selection of North Face and Columbia clothing- which I happen to love. The prices are what you would expect of those items, as far as the canoes, tents, sleeping bags and such- well I'm probably not the best one to ask in that department. read more

Housed in a deceptively small building, this place is filled with high-quality equipment, including North Face clothing, Reef flip flops, Columbia clothing, and Camelbak water containers. I also spotted some deluxe sleeping bags -- the kind that pull tight around your face and over your head. Wow. I live Right by a Cabela's and I cannot tell you guys how great it was to finally talk to people that know what they are talking about and have the same passion for the outdoors that I do. The staff here is amazing and are very friendly I spent about 1/2 hr talking about kayaks and kayak fishing with the guys here and these dudes were right there to give me advice and tips on the local fishing scene. I will always stop by here anytime I am in Memphis, next time I will buy that Bertucci watch. read more

I unpacked my Skybox for our trip to the beach tomorrow. Unfortunately I discovered that I was missing two very small but very important pieces. I called Outdoors on the off chance they might have the parts I needed in stock since I didn't have time to order them. Colby checked his store and the other two stores, but no one had the parts in stock. Colby said "just come to the store and I'll get you what you need." I came in and he and Louie ended up taking the parts off their floor model!! They totally saved the day, and we are so appreciative for Colby, Louie, and Outdoors!! Fantastic Bike Service. Brought my road bike wheel with a broken spoke into their shop and Colby immediatedly took charge and repaired within 30 minutes after I explained to him that I had a bike ride in Nashville over the weekend. Seldom do you find a store where the management and staff are totally responsive to the customer's needs. With this type of service they have my business going forward. I would highly reccomend. I wish I could give 0 stars, but I can't. I have shopped at outdoors for several years. I went in today to BUY a new pair of ski boots for my upcoming trip. The guy behind the counter tried to charge me $25 just to try on a pair! I told him I'd rather save my money and buy elsewhere if they were going to be like that. I called the store later on to ask about this charge, because frankly, I've never heard of doing this unless you are getting custom fit for a boot. The man I spoke to on the phone lied directly to me saying that I told him I was strictly going to buy online. When I called him out on this lie he just tried to make up more and then hand the phone to someone else. They in no way tried to fix the problem, make things better, I ended up just hanging up on them because they were doing nothing but trying to make excuses. GO BUY YOUR BOOTS ONLINE! read more

This place carries a lot of outdoor clothing, gear for a store this size. Although some of the employees are a bit lacking in the empathy department, most of them are pretty knowledgeable. I wish there was a 4.5 star, because that's what I would rate them. I can't comment on the bike store since I don't ride. read more

Outdoors Inc Rocks! I purchased a very expensive bike carrier and told the guys i was concerned about difficult fitmit of my particular bikes. The guys told me to come back in 30 minutes and they would have it put together. When I returned, they told me they researched my bikes and carriers on the internet and had a better model for me. It was also $150 cheaper!! They probably made less money, but they put the customer first and the carrier works perfect. Thanks guys and i will be back. read more

Everyone was super helpful but the manager at the Poplar Store; Seth Terri went above and beyond to help me find the right shoe. I've been into most of the outdoor sports at one point or another in my life starting before I was a Boy Scout and this has always been the local place to go. The staff are knowledgeable, courteous, and will go out of their way to answer any question or find that one particular product you're looking for. It's always my first stop regardless if my search is for backpacking supplies, snow skiing gear, a whitewater kayaking PFD, hiking boots, or biners, Oakleys, and a couple new pairs of shorts. read more

its a pretty small building but it hold a butt load of stuff i enjoy just going and looking at stuff sometimes i buy stuff too but its all pretty expensive i guess thats what you get for wanting to buy legit outdoor gear or whatever plus they have some pretty high quality kayaks but not a very big selection take that as you will also its generally pretty chilly in the store so you might want to just buy a jacket when you walk in the store to wear around read more
