A local lady who had ordered and was waiting with me said that they were going to put tables and chairs outside but the city wouldn't let them.. That didn't make sense to me because there is a Sonic directly next door which offers tables, seating and no bathroom.. ‍ Staff was friendly and offered great service, the food was good. It is tucked inside a gas station that looks like it might sell both hamburgers and bail bonds. From the outside you would swear the place is closed... except for the 400 cars wrapped around the building waiting for burgers. The exterior gives off just enough botulism and E. coli vibes to make you pause and reconsider your life choices before walking in. But once you step inside, things take a surprising turn. It is actually pretty clean for a classic greasy burger joint, and the staff were friendly and charming in that laid back local way that immediately makes you feel welcome. The second you open the door you get hit with the glorious smell of sizzling beef and French fry oil. It is the unmistakable aroma of cholesterol, poor decisions, and happiness. The double bacon cheeseburger was exactly what I wanted it to be. Soft bun. Cold crisp lettuce. Tomatoes, pickles, onion. Crispy bacon. The meat tasted fresh off the grill and the whole thing came together exactly the way a greasy American burger should. My only tiny knock is that the patties looked like they might be pre formed or frozen. Not a deal breaker by any stretch, but it did cost Tops a small cool point. The fries and tots were fried perfectly and seasoned well. And when I say they give you a lot, I mean a lot.
