Strange location on the backside of a small shop. Reviews & pics on Yelp were appealing. However (cue the dramatic music), the only thing outlaw at this grill was the absence of flavor. Started with spinach & asparagus dip which had no flavor other than cheese, lots of asparagus, couldn't find the spinach. Hubby had shrimp Diablo which he said was meh. Firm pasta, tiny shrimps, and not enough sauce, blah. I had chicken marsala and there was a lot of it. A lot of bland, flavorless, chicken. Very few mushrooms, peppers, or onion. So if you're hungry in Hobbs and like bland food this is your place. You'll get full, but you won't love it. read more

It's tough to find a good restaurant in this town but this was pretty good. The place was nice and the service friendly.

Not much can be said service wonderful, I will recommend the calamari best since I was overseas. Steaks unbelievable tender juicy melted under the fork. If you are close go there wonderful x10. read more

This is the absolute best restaurant in Hobbs. I've had their steak, burgers, pasta, jambalaya, jalapeño poppers, grilled chicken and I'm sure much more. Everything has been delicious. They also have very great service, I have been here more than 10 times and I have never had an issue. read more

The food here is always wonderful but they are pricing themselves out of the market. I can understand some items being pricey but plain pasta with basic marinara for fifteen dollars is a bit much. read more

Kind of excited to go get a grill chicken salad, get there at 10:07 but door was locked was leaving but then realized they opened the door but didnt even try to let us know but my son noticed so we went in, to place a to go order, we were handed menus and not aknowledged after that we would not have a problem waiting if there were other customers in there but just us standing there with our menus then saw a girl come out on her phone, but then she makes sure not to look our way and then walks to the back ... This place was outstanding! On our road trip through the area, we were looking for a place everyone in the family would enjoy. The service was excellent, and the other local customers were friendly and welcoming. We started with the Cowboy Corn Kicker appetizer - you've gotta try it! Dad got the OK Corral which was delicious with a green chile kick that didn't disappoint. Mom has the Jesse James which was delightful with tender steak strips on mashed potatoes sigh fried veggies on top. The kids had the best chicken strips, simple salmon, and the Farmer burger with a fried egg on top! We couldn't pass on the homemade desserts of which the Oreo ice cream pie was the BEST! The kids are trying to talk us into opening a place just like this back home. We will be back! read more

This is one of the best restaurants in town and its at #51 only because there is only one review. Well I'm here to tell you the food in this place was fabulous! I consider myself a foodie and this is a place I will absolutely come back to again and again. The green chili chowder was phenomenal and I had the small bowl but that alone almost filled me up. Then I had the green chili chicken and it was delicious. All the food tasted like it was cooked to order, very fresh. Definitely come out and try this place! read more

I ate there tonight on the recommendation of hotel staff. I will start with the good. The service was very good. The steak however left much to be desired. I ordered the New York (medium rare) with mushrooms and a side salad. I read a previous review about the mushrooms being too garlic laden, but I thought they were very good. The steak was over cooked, and by that I mean past medium well and headed towards well done. I think that the chef had a hard time preparing it correctly because it was so thin. Typically a New York is thick and narrow. This one was less than a half inch thick and very wide. This makes it difficult to cook it to medium rare. It was seasoned well, so I did not send it back because I felt like with the meat they had to work with, there was little hope of getting a better product. read more

A great variety on the menu and very friendly staff. The atmosphere was country chic and is attached to a gift shop/tea room. I had the skinny chicken and everything was cooked to perfection... Ate at Outlaw's Hobbs location Wednesday with out of town friends. This was first time for the Hobbs location, and it was every bit as good as the one in Eunice. The menu in Hobbs was slightly limited from the Eunice location, but there was a good selection. I had the shrimp scampi and my friends had pasta at my recommendation. They were at the end of a long trip and said it was the best meal on the entire trip. I had just got back from Ruidoso and ate at several great restaurants, but my meal at Outlaw's was my favorite. Service was great. Highly recommend. The ladies were very attentive and were always helpful. My wife and I have a difficult time ordering in restaurants because of our diet, but the staff were very accommodating and were happy to substitute and make changes for us. We will ABSOLUTELY dine here again! Our party of four ate different selections and we all loved it. Anytime you eat at a restaurant and you can't wait to share your food across the table, it is a keeper. The only reason I wouldn't recommend the Outlaw Diner would be so that it wouldn't become crowded. Service was excellent, the atmosphere is great (everyone talking, yet not loud, with music playing just audibly in the background), and just enough room for everyone. At first glance I thought twice about going in. However, the parking lot was full so I thought I would give it a try. The food was really good. The steak was perfectly grilled. The jalapeño shrimp was the perfect amount of spice and sweetness. I will be back next time I'm in town. read more

I have Celiac disease and was staying in Hobbs for 3 nights. I called ahead and they said "sure - tell your server you need gluten-free food". When I did, the very young server (who asked me if cabernet wine was red or white) stared blankly and said "no, nothing is gluten free here" but when I persisted, she said she would ask the cook. She reported that the cook said "no, we don't have anything that's gluten-free but if you look at the menu, it's all kind of gluten-free...it just depends on what you're allergic to...like chips...(?!) ", but the menu had plenty of things on it, that could be GF - steaks, shrimp, salads, etc. I knew I was doomed to be glutened, but had NO options in Hobbs. I asked if they would cook me a steak, in a clean pan, with no seasonings but salt/pepper. She said sure and she would YELL AT THEM to be sure. I ended up with a filet which was delicious and perfectly cooked, a salad with ranch dressing that I didn't bother asking about the contents of, and some sauteed mushrooms that were literally covered in chopped garlic. I like garlic a lot, but this was too much even for me! I eventually got my "red" wine, and I have no idea what it was but it was pretty good. I struggled to find safe food in Hobbs found that I could not be too picky unless I only ate produce from the grocery store. I did not have any reaction from the food at the Outlaw Grill, but I'm sure the risk for cross-contamination is great, so depending on your level of sensitivity you're probably taking a chance. The food tasted good though, except for the excess garlic on the mushrooms. Our server was friendly enough, but it took about an hour to get our food, and my wine didn't come out until right before that. My friend had chicken-fried steak which she said was delicious, and the coconut pie was apparently good too, although all the desserts looked like frozen rather than made in-house. read more

We were passing through Hobbs and just happened on this restaurant, it was a great experience! I had the chicken Marsala and it was great.

Best burgers in Hobbs. I'm not trying to brag or anything, but I've had my share of tasty burgers, being from Houston n all. When I say the best burgers in Hobbs, you best believe these are the burgers in Hobbs. If you're tired of the same ol tired restaurant chains (i.e., applebees, bww) then Outlaw Grill is where you need to be. Outlaw Grill is my go-to spot for a delicious burger and fries. I always leave satisfied. Consistency is key for me when choosing restaurants. Every visit and any burger is always good. read more

The best! The wait staff was friendly, helpful and didn't hover, yet the drinks stayed filled. The food was SO good. You must like bold flavor because they don't serve bland food. Steak cooked to perfection, asparagus perfect all the way to the last one which as we all know is a difficult feat, mushrooms could not have been better and the sweet tea taste like home. The atmosphere was comfortable. Definitely a great place to eat. You get what you pay for, for sure here. Bring your appetite because they don't skimp and it's so good you're gonna want to try and clean your plate. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. read more
